User questions & answers

Question: Does anyone know how it connects to Yamaha clp
Answer: Make sure your keyboard is connected and recognized by your computer via USB/MIDI (e.g., proper drivers installed, if required). Please ask Yamaha for help if that part gives you trouble. Once you have established that your keyboard is recognized by your computer, then launch eMedia Piano and Keyboard Method and open "Instrument Setup" from the Options menu. Click the checkboxes are follows: 1) Electronic keyboard/piano, 2) Yes (connected via USB/MIDI), and finally 3) select "from my keyboard (speakers or audio output)" since your keyboard will produce its own sounds (best option for lowest latency). To confirm that everything is working correctly, play a few notes on your piano. You should see the "Keyboard test" light turn green in the window. Close the "Instrument Setup" window, and you're ready to go. You will hear the lesson content (songs, videos, etc) from your computer speakers, but the sound of your playing will come from your Yamaha piano. I hope that helps!
Question: Does this come with a midi-usb connector
Answer: Dear Molivia, my apologies for the delay. Since I bought the digital version (image of dvd plus the key) Im not sure! but it can be easily acquired here in Amazon, like I did. http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Cable-Converter-Music-Keyboard/dp/B001LJUVO4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386874498&sr=8-1&keywords=midi+usb.
Question: There are multiple MIDI keyboard sizes on Amazon from 25 to 88 keys. What is the minimum number of keys needed to successfully play all featured songs? I'd hate to be playing along and run off the end of the keyboard
Answer: Chiming in from eMedia here. All of the songs and exercise in this curriculum can be played with a four octave (e.g., 49-key) keyboard. If you already one of these you will have no trouble using this course. If you are shopping for a new keyboard, you may wish to consider your future needs beyond the eMedia software. The range of a five octave keyboard is usually enough to accompany yourself with your left hand as you play a melody with your right hand, and if you search for "eMedia piano pack" you'll see a few inexpensive options that we offer bundled with this software. That said, the full range of the piano is a joy to experience so go for the full 88-keys if you have the budget. Wishing you lots of success!
Question: I was led to beleive by some of the answers here that this program cam with a cable. But I didn't get one. Was there supposed to be any cables provided? I think my keyboard (also new and still in the box) only has a USB port. What cable would I need? *very blonde today* thanks for your patience
Answer: Hi Julia...no, the software does not come with any type of cables. The answer to what type of cable you need to buy depends on what type of device you're planning on connecting to your keyboard. For example, if you're planning on using a computer - all computers use a rectangular connector (also known as a 'Type B' connector). You need to look at the back of your keyboard and determine what type of connector it requires. It may be rectangular (like your computer) or it may be square (also known as a 'Type A' connector. This will tell you if you need a Type A (because the keyboard has a square connector)/Type B cable (standard rectangular connector), or a Type B/Type B Cable. The Type A/Type B is most common and is nothing more than a standard printer cable. You can find those for around $6. No need to spend any more than that. Hope this helps.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this software be installed on 2 laptops
Answer: The software is licensed to a single user and allows you to activate it up to three times to help you in case your hard drive dies before you can deactivate it. This feature would also allow you to run the software on a home computer and a laptop at the same time (or 2 laptops), for example. It is not licensed for multiple owners. Hope this helps!
Question: How old is this software
Answer: As of this writing, eMedia Piano and Keyboard Method Deluxe will run on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.12. It will run on Mac OS X 10.13 if you upgraded to High Sierra from an older Mac operating system on the same computer but not without issues if you have a new Mac with 10.13 already installed. We are working on High Sierra updates. Regardless of what you get on the CD-ROMs in this purchase, it's probably best to download the latest versions from our web site at: http://www.emediamusic.com/download/software.html?product=PKM-Dlx (you'll need the serial numbers from your purchase to use the downloads). CD-ROMs are generally behind the downloadables. That's just how it is due to shipping and manufacturing. Hope this helps!
Question: how does this work with acoustic pianos and keyboards
Answer: The lessons (over 450 total) can be accessed with or without the interactive feedback feature.Volume 1 can use either your computer microphone or MIDI compatible keyboard to give you instant feedback by highlighting notes played correctly in melodies. If you are using a MIDI keyboard, then it can also give you specific feedback on mistakes and can give you personalized reports to show your rate of progress.Volume 2 does not appear to be able to use your computer's microphone for feedback. When using a MIDI-compatible keyboard, you can get feedback on mistakes made while playing selected exercises, including notes and rhythms.

Disc versions may not be current and require a download update and serial number from our support team. Question: i think this emedia is for me because i need help count my notes and i 'am a beginner will this help me to start over again
Answer: Yes, you should be able to as long as you have the correct cables. For an Android device, I think you might need an app and root, or it might just work, and a usb otg cable. I haven't tried it yet because mine hasn't come in yet. I'll let you know by the end of this week if it works. I may return this for a bluetooth one though so I can charge my device at the same time I'm typing.

Answer: Hi, This case is the waterproof case, and usually it used for underwater or some rainning day or snowing day. So it have not the headphone jack port. Thanks for your question.

Product description

eMedia My Piano is a unique and fun way for kids ages 6 and up to learn how to play piano or keyboard! An animated character named Pam the Piano guides kids through over 100 lessons by former Juilliard School of Music instructor Irma Irene Justicia, M.A. My Piano covers the basics, such as proper hand position and rhythm, and moves on to reading music notation, playing songs and more. An animated keyboard shows kids where to put their fingers as the music plays, and the speed of the music can be adjusted with MIDI tracks so that each child can learn at his or her own pace. When used with a MIDI keyboard, kids get instant feedback on their playing, telling them which notes were played incorrectly and what should have been played instead. Separate audio tracks (left / right hand, full song / voice only) and colorful MIDI accompaniments provide exciting options to have fun with. My Piano is the complete program that will get your child playing piano! Research has proven that children who play a musical instrument do better in school, form friendships more easily and gain self-confidence. Get your child started playing with the easy and fun way to learn, eMedia My Piano!. ATTENTION MAC USERS - Beginning with macOS 10.15 (Catalina), Apple has eliminated the option to run 32-bit apps on the Mac. If you wish to continue using our applications, which currently require 32-bit support, do not upgrade your operating system past Mac OS 10.14 (Mojave). Alternatively, you can retain an older Mac operating system on a separate drive partition. eMedia developers are currently working on software updates to support Catalina and future versions of macOS, but this is a major undertaking. eMedia is currently unable to foresee how long it will take to create these new versions. If you purchased your eMedia software on or after September 7, 2019, upon receiving proof of purchase eMedia Music will provide you with a free upgrade to a macOS 10.15 (Catalina)-compatible version of an eMedia application when it becomes available. All other registered owners of eMedia software will be qualified for discounted upgrades.

User questions & answers

Question: do I need to purchase any wires to connect my computer to my keyboard
Answer: You can get a lot out of this software from doing the lessons without using interactive feedback features. No wires needed for that. If you have a microphone on your computer (like many laptops do) then you can get some basic interactive feedback if your computer can "hear" your keyboard through some speakers. For the most comprehensive interactive feedback, the software requires a MIDI connection between your keyboard and computer. This would require a cable. I hope this helps!
Question: What should I be looking for in a midi keyboard to make sure that it will be compatible wtih the interactive feedback and what accessories will I need
Answer: We just used a normal keyboard that is the size of a piano, same size keys. We didn't use anything for the interactive feedback. We would just run the lesson and then play. My kids and I really learned a lot from this program. It is all the beginning lessons, something to start kids learning. Would recommend this for anyone just starting out learning.
Question: Is this the version that now supports Mac OS/X 10.7 and
Answer: This version should be compatible with Mac OS/X 10.7 and 10.8. If for some reason it is not, you can download a free update from our website, www.emediamusic.com
