13 best la voz tenor sax reeds

La Voz is a well-known brand in the world of saxophone reeds. They specialize in producing high-quality reeds designed for tenor saxophones and other woodwind instruments. Here are some key details about La Voz tenor saxophone reeds and their related offerings:

  1. Reed Material: La Voz tenor saxophone reeds are typically made from premium quality cane. Cane reeds are the most common type of reeds for saxophones and are known for their flexibility and responsiveness, allowing saxophonists to produce rich, warm tones.

  2. Strengths: La Voz offers a range of reed strengths to accommodate players of varying skill levels and preferences. The strength of a reed affects its playability and the sound it produces. Saxophonists can choose from options like soft, medium, and hard reeds, depending on their playing style and experience.

  3. Craftsmanship: La Voz is known for its attention to detail in the manufacturing process. The reeds are carefully crafted to meet specific performance standards, ensuring consistent quality and playability.

  4. Reed Cut: La Voz reeds are available in different cut styles, including Traditional and "Reed Guard" cuts. The cut style influences the reed's response and tonal characteristics, allowing musicians to choose the one that suits their playing style and musical genre.

  5. Packaging: La Voz reeds are typically sold in packs containing multiple reeds. This is convenient for saxophonists who regularly replace their reeds as they wear out over time. The packaging helps protect the reeds from damage and ensures they remain in good condition until use.

  6. Versatility: While La Voz is known for its tenor saxophone reeds, they also produce reeds for other saxophone types, such as alto and soprano, as well as for various clarinet models. This allows woodwind musicians to choose La Voz reeds for their specific instruments.

  7. Popularity: La Voz reeds are used by both beginner and professional saxophonists around the world. Their consistent quality and performance make them a popular choice among woodwind players.

It's important to note that the choice of reed brand and strength can significantly impact a saxophonist's playing experience and sound. Many saxophonists experiment with different reed brands and strengths to find the ones that best suit their playing style and preferences. Therefore, while La Voz reeds are well-regarded, individual preferences may vary, and players often try different options to find the perfect reed for their needs.

Question: I have been playing with a Hempke 3.0 reed. Would the La Voz Med or Med-Hard be closer to the strength of the 3.0 Hempke
Answer: It's hard to measure. I would say that it's just a bit thicker that a standard record album jacket. It may be thin, but it's really sturdy!

User questions & answers

Question: what strength is the la voz medium equal to
Answer: Thanks for your interest, and patience. We have more Walnut stock, and once non-essential products are accepted into the Amazon warehouses we’ll send you an email notification. Hopefully just a few more weeks. Please send a quick email to [email protected] so we have your contact info.
Question: Does it come with a new D'Addario case or Rico case
Answer: Hello, and thanks for your interest. We’re manufacturing more walnut displays and should have them in a few weeks.
Question: Are these reeds filed or unfiled
Answer: Hello - the wooden base measures 8" long x 3.5" wide x 3/4" high. The stainless steel supports are also 8" long. They sit in 1/2" deep holes in the base which makes them ~7.5" high when inserted into the base.
Question: Is the medium soft La Voz reed equivalent to a 2.5 strength on a regular reed
Answer: Thanks for the question. Our design ensures that very little stress is put on the album where it rests on the beveled stainless steel supports. We’re confident you can leave a heavy double gatefold LP with records in the jacket as long as you like without leaving a dent in the jacket or warping the record.

  • Also offered in 3-reed packs and 25-reed Novapak reed dispensers

User questions & answers

Question: Is it strength 2.0 or 3.0? Where was it made? Thanks
Answer: It's about a 2 and 1/4. I also have medium which I can't use at all (fights me)...medium soft is real nice....may even go lower.
Question: The reeds are for alto or tenor saxophone
Answer: Matt, I assume he plans on using his reeds on his sax to make music. The mouthpiece is an entirely separate issue: yes the tip opening and facing may suggest different hardnesses, but the question was about matching reed A to reed B. In other words, a Popsicle stick stuck in jello or clamped in a vice remains just as hard, as a reed will on any mouthpiece. A 3.5 remains a 3.5 on a Jody or an Otto Link. As to wearing out quickly, I can't really say. I have little comparison as I have used La Voz for 45 years of professional playing and find them eminently suitable to my needs.
Question: Is these a tenor or alto saxophone reeds, cause the picture says tenor and the description is alto. And last time I ordered for tenor and I got for al
Answer: Only the L.P. stand. I had to return it for the same reason.
Question: I want to buy alto reeds but when I go to buy the page change to tenor reeds? do you have a correct link for alto reeds # 2.0? tanks a lot
Answer: I have the same pop socket for over a year and its still there. On the other hand my wife had another one, same brand, and she needed to glue it after a few months of use.

User questions & answers

Question: I ordered the red one on amazon for 1 alto sax. Will this blue one also fit the alto sax? I want my other son to have on but I don't want same color
Answer: I play medium hard reeds. I'd put them at roughly a 3.5. So I'd say 2 to 2.5. Just a guess though. Good luck. I love the reeds.
Question: How long are the two sections? One for the main part of the flute and one for a "C" foot joint
Answer: It comes with Rico case
Question: Can you keep it in the saxophone
Answer: These reeds are unfiled.
Question: Do you leave these inside the flute and inside the case for storage after a cleaning
Answer: It depends a little bit on who you talk to, but, according to most folks, La Voz MS is either equivalent to or *just slightly* softer than Rico 2.5.

Question: What is a soft reed number
Answer: You do not leave the cleaner inside the flute or in the case after cleaning your flute because there is too much moisture left on the pad-saver. Very few of the flute players I know use them. I returned the one I bought because it left too much moisture inside my flute, leaving the pads and my lungs open to mildew and mold contamination.

User questions & answers

Question: baritone sax reed rico
Answer: They are about the same length as the flute body and foot joint (mine is a low C). The long one fits inside of the body, and the short one in the foot joint. They make them so that you can store them in the flute, BUT DO NOT EVER DO THIS!!! The moisture will be trapped inside and destroy the pads! Otherwise, these are awesome for cleaning the flute. I use the long one to swab out all the joints, so the little one is never used. I hope this answers your question. :)
Question: Why does it have d'addario on the box and not rico when the title says rico
Answer: Yes - Your should keep the pad in the saxophone. This is a fine way to help the pads health. Otherwise the practicing will fill the body with spit. This is not good for the pads health and will ruin the pads finish.
