User questions & answers
Question: | Purchased 11-6-19. does this device even have a metronome as described in the specs?? if so, i don't see how to activate it |
Answer: | No. The throat doesn't open far enough. The product literature say the throat only opens to 1.58 inches or 4 cm. I was able to increase it to 1.75 inches by removing the little rubber pads which made it just large enough for my viola. So unless you have a really skinny uke, this will not fit. I would think a tuner that clamps on to your peghead would work just fine. |
Question: | Will this tuner be appropriate for my 10 year old grandson who is just learning to play the violin |
Answer: | The tenor is strung like the soprano and concert, so high G. G-C-E-A |
Question: | How doe it compare to the small Snark in terms of accuracy and response time |
Answer: | I'm sorry but I never purchased this item--there must be a mix-up on Amazon. I purchased a Caramel gig bag for another ukulele. They are a good company to deal with though. |
Question: | Will this tuner work on ukulele |
Answer: | The name of the song is "body surfing". |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these work on electric violins |
Answer: | Cecilio CVN-200 has bright and clear sound. Mendini MV200 and MV300: same quality but with different finish. Both have mellow and warm sound. Mendini MV400: Ebony fittings, has bright and clear sound Mendini MV500: Ebony fittings, has deep rich and powerful tone |
Question: | how many strings come in these packets? is it just one, all or half |
Answer: | you have to tune it and rosin up the bow |
Question: | Are these ball ends |
Answer: | This is because the pegs are not tapered to fit the pegs. They are only drilled straight through. They must be hand fitted for the pegs to stay put after tuning. These instruments take many shortcuts to make them cheaper. That is a big problem as the student will get frustrated (and so will their teacher) and all too often will quit playing because of the cheap method of construction. Do Not Buy Any Super Cheap Instruments!!! Would you expect a super cheap car to be reliable and safe? Of course not!! Why do you think this is different? |
Question: | I´m just learning to play. What does medium, heavy, light tension mean? Which should I buy |
Answer: | It does not come with extra set of string. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it good to only use light rosin if you live in a city that is mostly humid during all seasons |
Answer: | I have never heard that humidity is a significant factor in choosing the right rosin. Dark rosin is generally stickier than light and this is the primary reason that people choose one over the other. |
Question: | Which kind of rosin would be best for a beginner violist? Light or Dark |
Answer: | all answers here are incorrect. in summer (if your weather is warm) you should use light rosin, the heat makes the tree sap more sticky. but in winter you use dark rosin because it is typically very sticky and the cold balances it ou |
Question: | What are the dimensions and weight? Thanks |
Answer: | The rosin itself is 2 & 1/8 x 1 & 1/4 x 3/4 inches and weighs 1.2 ounces. It comes in a box that's slightly larger. Hope that helps! Thanks, Jason |
Question: | How well dose it work in an city like Austin,Texas should I get this or something else or couple of different ones for the different whether condtions |
Answer: | I live in Florida so I suspect the weather would be the same or similar. Rosin works fine no problems. |

User questions & answers
Question: | The core is steel, but what is the winding material |
Answer: | Helicores have a twisted wire core whereas Preludes have a steel core. The wires are steel but very fine so the twisted wire makes the string vibrate like a synthetic core. The E string on the violin, however, like most E strings, is plain steel. If you want a wound E string, the metal in the winding will be specified, e.g. gold, silver or aluminum. |
Question: | Do these have a ball at the end or a loop |
Answer: | They have ball ends. |
Question: | is this all 4 strings |
Answer: | Yes full set 4 strings. |
Question: | Is the E string wound |
Answer: | Yes, it is. Excellent violín strings set! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this e string in this set wound? i have used the kaplan non-whistling e for years and was wondering if this is the same e |
Answer: | These strings are designed for a five string electric violin, and they sound great. I play a 5 string electric Zeta. If you play an acoustic instrument I don't know how well they would work. |
Question: | Is the ball end removable |
Answer: | We checked and they are ball end. Best, |
Question: | LOOP OR BALL END |
Answer: | Violin strings are more complicated to manufacture than guitar and ukulele strings. Most of the time, guitar and ukulele strings are steel strings and, occasionally nylon. Violin strings are made out of much more costly materials, such as, aluminum, tungsten, silver etc. Also, a lot of higher quality violin strings are actually hand-made! |

User questions & answers
Question: | what is the difference in sound and quality between helicore and zyex , please can i have an answer |
Answer: | Yes, definitely. I've been using them on my acoustic AND my 5-string Yamaha electric. They still sound great and last for at least 3 months playing every week. |
Question: | Does it come with a protective plastic tube for the E string |
Answer: | you should ask them I don't think its on the package, It works fine on my 5 sting, I use the first peg not the 3rd. no problems |
Question: | Loop end or ball end |
Answer: | Heavy tension project a bit better, don’t cut into my fingers as much, and are a bit more durable imo. They take a bit more to get going though.... as in slightly slower response. If you’re a student, you might prefer the medium gage. If you’re a pro user, I’d try the heavy gage. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this string fit the violin scale |
Answer: | This is my son's response as he plays violin......this is for violin as rosin for cellos and basses need to be stronger and stickier...... |
Question: | Does these strings come with ball end? The one that I broke had a ball end and I don't know do I need a ball end for the replacement as well. Thanks |
Answer: | This has more to do with the type of instrument you are playing. Most people prefer the lighter rosin with violin, darker with cello. Viola tends to go either way in my experience. |
Question: | Hello,I am wondering if these strings are a ballpoint or loop end ones. Thank you |
Answer: | Dark rosin is stickier and softer. Light rosin is harder and less sticky. They also make a difference in how the instrument will sound. |
Question: | Do they have a string guard on Estring |
Answer: | Hi, I have a degree is the viola and play professionally in two symphonies. A lot of it which rosin you get will depend on your personal preference, which you’ll develop over time. Do you prefer a rosin with more grip? Dark versus light? Etc. While price does certainly have a relationship to quality, I’ve found it is not necessary to spend $20 on a cake of rosin if you find one that you like and works well with your instrument. That all said, generally dark amber rosin works well for most beginners. You would be fine with this rosin. |
