13 best wah pedal bass
A wah pedal for bass guitar is an essential accessory that allows bassists to modulate and shape their sound by altering the frequency response of their instrument in real-time.It is typically used to create expressive and dynamic effects in music. Here's what you need to know about wah pedals for bass:
Functionality: A wah pedal operates by sweeping the frequency range of the bass signal, emphasizing certain frequencies while attenuating others. This creates a "wah-wah" sound, which can mimic the sound of a human voice or produce funky, expressive tones.
Expression: Bassists can use a wah pedal to add expression to their playing. By rocking the pedal back and forth with their foot, they can achieve a wide range of tonal changes, from sharp, treble-heavy sounds to deep, resonant tones.
Tonal Variety: Wah pedals offer a vast array of tonal possibilities. They can be used to add character to solos, create funky grooves, or emphasize specific notes within a bassline. The exact sound produced depends on how the pedal is manipulated.
Usage in Different Genres: Wah pedals are versatile and find applications in various music genres. While they are often associated with funk, rock, and blues, they can be used effectively in jazz, metal, and other styles to add unique textures to the bass sound.
Compatibility: When using a wah pedal with a bass guitar, it's essential to choose one that is designed to handle the lower frequencies produced by basses. Some pedals are specifically designed for bass guitars to ensure they can effectively shape the bass's tonal characteristics.
Popular Models: There are several popular wah pedals for bass on the market, including the Dunlop Cry Baby Bass Wah and the Electro-Harmonix Bass Big Muff Pi with Wicker, among others. These pedals offer different features and tonal possibilities, so it's a good idea to try out several to find the one that suits your style.
Pedal Placement: Typically, bassists place the wah pedal between the bass guitar and the amplifier in their signal chain. This allows them to control the wah effect in real-time while playing.
In summary, a wah pedal for bass guitar is a valuable accessory that allows bassists to add expressive and dynamic effects to their playing. It offers a wide range of tonal possibilities and can be used across various music genres to create unique sounds and textures.

User questions & answers
Question: | I typically play a baritone guitar in b standard. would this be more ideal, or a traditional cry baby |
Answer: | This will work well for baritone and regular guitar. It has a different sound on guitar than other non-bass guitar wahs. I love how gnarly it sounds for guitar and I play a 7-String. |
Question: | Is the input also stereo as well as mono for bass? In other words can I use this for stereo synths and mono bass |
Answer: | I believe it only accepts instrument cable. So to answer your question, mono only. |
Question: | Where do you place this effect in your bass pedal signal chain |
Answer: | I place it at the beginning because I want my other pedal effects applied to the wah after the wah effect. But this is preference, not requirement. This link explains bass pedal order and why preference is important. http://smartbassguitar.com/how-to-set-up-a-pedal-board-for-bassists/#.V72WeakpDqA |
Question: | Can you use bass wah pedals on standard electric guitars |
Answer: | Could you? Yes. Should you? No.... The frequency range of this wah will not work well for the range of frequencies needed for guitar. There is a WIDE range of wah pedals out there made for guitar with lots of different flavors, so there really is no need to buy a Bass Wah to try and use with guitar.... The Geezer Butler Cry Baby Bass Wah is specially designed to complement Geezer’s iconic sound-massive low end power with a midrange that cuts through the mix. We took the aggressive Cry Baby 95Q Wah and modified its sweep so that, from the heel-down position, custom circuitry mixes in just the right amount of your dry signal. Pressing toward the toe-down position smoothly removes your dry signal to allow the aggressive part of the wah range to stand out. If you want to adjust the shape of the frequency’s band pass, just remove the bottom plate and use the internal Q control, which is factory-set to Geezer’s preference.
- Designed in collaboration with the first bass player to record with a wah pedal
- Voiced specifically for Geezer’s huge and aggressive sound
- Internal Q control to adjust frequency band pass
- Convenient auto-return switching

Answer: | Sorry We don't ship to Brazil |

User questions & answers
Question: | Headphone capable |
Answer: | Yes very easy to clean, the basket is inside a pan and both are square, both come out when you fill the basket. For sticky items (chicken wings) I recommend buying some parchment paper with holes for air flow to put in the bottom of the basket for ease of cleaning. You can buy it on Amazon. If you use the parchment paper do not put in fryer until ready to add the food, with no food weight on the paper the air may cause it to float up to the heater (fire hazard warning) |
Question: | Can this be used for vocals |
Answer: | E2 error means you overfilled the basket. Open the basket, shake the contents or flip and resume cooking. |
Question: | How do you get the device that you plug in to play music through Zoom(such as phone) to play in stereo? I can only get mine to play mono |
Answer: | The measurements for the interior basket is 9 3/4 inches x 8 3/4 inches x 4 3/4 deep. According to instructions, items should be placed in a single layer. |
Question: | trying to decide which one to get... what exactly does the expression pedal do |
Answer: | Thanks for your inquiry. The temperature rang of our air fryer oven is 180℉ to 400℉, the highest temperature is 400℉. Hope that helps you. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this pedal run on a 9volt battery? Or is it AC adapter only |
Answer: | Well that might be due to the base being a little wider than the foot part, and the fact that it's slightly tapered from front to back. Who knows what's getting measured out there?!? So, the base of the thing is 3 1/2 inches in front and 3 inches at the back. The foot pedal part is 3 inches in front and 2 1/2 inches at the heel. Hope that helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this better than 95Q |
Answer: | Define better. Physically it's the same quality build. It has more features. More features is only "better" if you need the features. |
Question: | Does the 535Q function as a volume pedal when not in wah mode |
Answer: | Nope, it's a wah pedal, not a volume pedal.... |
Question: | Has anyone been able to adjust this to go between guitar and bass? I play both for different bands and am looking for a way to carry less gear |
Answer: | I've tried plugging in my bass through it... it doesn't quite scoop the right frequencies for it-- sounds anemic and flat. I know Dunlop makes a bass wah pedal for this purpose if you're looking for an expression pedal. But what I like about the 535Q is that it's tailored with settings for the more advanced/professional player looking for that dynamic 'wah' sound. Sounds very warm & punchy through an EFX pedal or clean... Have fun! |
Question: | Does this variant have the auto heel return thing on the pedal |
Answer: | No, it doesn't. It operates solely by the movement of the foot rocking heel to toe. Wherever you stop your foot's movement is where the wah frequency/sweep will be set at (unless, you click down all the way on the toe end to go into bypass mode). The only pedals I know of that have the auto-return feature, is the Bad Horsie Wah by Morley and at least one other model they make. They have increased their pedal line and have a very large number of wah-wah's you might be interested in. Check out their website. |

Morley 2020 Power Fuzz Wah
Behold the Mighty Power Fuzz Wah, one of the great Morley classics. The 2020 version not only comes in a Pedalboard friendly size, but now has our acclaimed Switchless Activation. It offers our widest frequency sweep and when combined with it’s Fuzz circuit delivers monstrous Fuzz Wah tone that will send other Wah pedals into hiding. All Morley 2020 pedals also come with a Buffer Circuit that protects your Guitar's natural tone from any mischief in your signal chain.
Spring Loaded Switchless Activation
One of Morley's great innovations. Ever thought you switched off your Wah only to find it’s still on? Or have you ever accidentally hit the switch while playing? Go Switchless! Simply step on to engage and step off to bypass. The handy spring also returns the Wah back to it's off position. You can also adjust the Wah off time between 0 and 2 seconds with it's internal trim pot. Stock setting is around 1 second.
Switchable Fuzz Plus LED Indication
Morley's engineers went to great lengths to recreate their famed Power Fuzz Wah Circuit. The Wah delivers Morley's widest available sweep that when combined with the Fuzz Circuit obliterates anything in it's path. True to the original the Fuzz Circuit also comes before the Wah. The Vintage Fuzz Mode captures that old-school ripped speaker Fuzz sound from the birth of Rock N' Roll while the Modern Fuzz Mode delivers a more Guitar Distortion like Fuzz giving you plenty of options. The foot switch selectable Fuzz Type also gives you the option of going from Vintage to Modern in case you need more presence in the mix. Handy LEDs also indicate when the Wah and Fuzz are on, and which Fuzz mode you're in never leaving you in an awkward situation.
Glow-in-the-Dark Details
Never lose your pedal on a dark stage. Morley's Pedal-Glow treadle rubber makes sure you know where your pedal is located. The Morley toe-end sticker also glows in the dark.
