Answer:	A larger string gauge will produce higher tension. When you drop your tuning that higher tension will help retain note clarity and power. Go for the Power Slinky or buy an even larger 5 string set and use only the biggest 4 strings. You'll have to adjust the truss rod and bridge afterwards.

Question:	How are the mediums compared to lights, i am looking at these for my first string change and i don't know what i have now. Is there a big difference
Answer:	Not really a big difference. The most common gauge is 45-65-85-105 (Custom Light). If you like a bit more stiffness in your G and D strings, go with Medium. If you like a little looser E and A, go with Light. If you don't care one way or the other, just go with Custom Light.Mind you, again, it's not a huge difference. It's subtle. I like my E and A a little softer so it's easier to dig in, so I buy Lights (45 65 80 100).

Answer:	No, these strings have very good sound, the problem whith these strings is that if you like "bends" and "vibrato", big erosion on strings caused by the frets in minutes.

Answer:	That would be amazing! We have offered Black Beauty Round Wounds for Short Scale before. We are waiting for more to be manufactured but do not have a definite ETA. Coated Flats would be very very difficult to make. Flats are polished smooth after the flat ribbon wire is wound. Unfortunately if they were coated they would not be able to be polished so will not be nearly as sooth as a traditional flatwound. Answer:	This should do the trick. Also, the nut may be filed too low if this doesn't fix it. You can mix sawdust and superglue to raise the A string nut area if you use the sawdust from another nut or nut material.

I purchased the “fender originals” which are different than the “74’s”. I hear the 74’s are good pickups ( the “originals” are not, do not buy those as I wish I’d didn’t ! Mine came with screws and drop shielding. I would think those would come with the same as they are better pickups. I went with the cheap original with the extended poles ( which the string hit all the time ). Again, just stay way from the “American fender originals”, nothing original about those, best of luck and wish I had more info !

Answer:	When I turn the neck pickup on by its self, I get a little noise. The same thing when I turn the bridge pickup. When I turn them up together I don't get any noise.

Answer:	I mounted my set in a Geddy Lee signature bass; for all intents a copy of a 1973 Jazz Bass. Assuming that your Squire is made to similar dimensions, you should be able to install those pups with a soldering gun and a screw driver. Good luck!

Answer:	No, these dont come with the raised A and D olepieces. But with 9,5 radius you dont need them. I installed these on my MIJ Geddy Lee (9.5") and it sounds perfectly balanced. Raised centers are meant for vintage 7.5" radius or less.

Question:	Are you supposed to cut these before installing
Answer:	Cutting Bass strings seems to be a highly discussed topic, but it is not rocket science, it is actually common sense. Since Bass strings have a solid core and a wrap wire, urban legend says that by cutting the strings, the inner core will somehow detach from the wrap. Yes, you should cut the strings, and here is how is done: Thread the string through the bridge and bring it up to your headstock with no slack, hold the string against the tuning post that corresponds to that string. From that post, measure two tuning posts further away and bend the string about 90 degrees on that point. Then, cut the string half an inch beyond that bend (not too close to the bend), make sure to use a cutter able to easily snap clean that string in one go. By doing so, you will not have too many or too few windings around the tuning post (and no, your string’s inner core will not detach).

Answer:	Yuke in with the answer of the year. cobalt is a mineral. minerals are sourced with strip mining. strip mining deliberately defaces the environment so id say no. its not ethically sourced. thousands of cobalts died to make these strings
Question:	How is this different from 'ernie ball cobalt xxxxx slinky bass set' series
Answer:	The regular Ernie Ball Cobalt is a roundwound string. This is a flatwound string. While it exhibits the characteristics of other flats, less string noise, smooth slides, etc., with the treble cranked it can slap and pop. These flats tend to have more mids than other flats and are so bright for flats that I have to insert a bridge mute in order to get a James Jamerson type of sound. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Generally no. It all depends on the instruments construction. If you measure Ball End to Tuning Post for the THICKEST string and it is greater than 38" then these will work. Otherwise they will not. Most likely you need a string with a winding length of 32" or less.
