User questions & answers

Question: What is the padding material they use that makes it "lacquer safe
Answer: It appears to be some form of synthetic rubber material. To make doubly sure, I wrapped the rubber parts in cotton flannel.
Question: Will this guiar stand large enough to hold a bass? Thanks
Answer: Yes. I am a bass player and I have two of these. These are the most stable stands I have come across. I'll also note that this stand will accommodate the wider neck of a five string bass.

User questions & answers

Question: Has anyone tried this on a Boss Katana 1-12? only
Answer: I've tried it on a 2/10, Behringer Vampire and it works just GREAT. It takes a moment to get the balance right, and make sure the floor isn't too slipper.y but ti works great!
Question: What are dimensions fully expanded and fully contracted? Want the amp almost flat on floor
Answer: 11 inches at its lowest 15 inches at its highest settings. Measured from the floor to the top of the amp rest.
Question: inches. Are you speaking of the height of the amp to be installed on
Answer: Yes it's referring to the height of the amp. The stand supports amp heights between 18-32 inches. No installation needed just rest the amp against the stand and you are all set
Question: Can I use this stand on a carpet floor, or would the grip not be strong enough
Answer: Overall this stand works better on carpet or a rug than it does on wood or tile flooring. Don't use it much since I like having my amp raised and angled on a floor stand.

User questions & answers

Question: How big is the base part, like 2"x1"? Thanks
Answer: The stand I bought has legs 2"wide, 1/2" thick (formed) heavy guage which from the center protrude 10 inches. At center , the top where you see their height is 2". I've put a number of books on mine (right over there) for some years now. Glad I git this one! Be SURE to buy the rubber tips available with this for the feet as this will protect your floor! Good luck -
Question: Does this stand have anything that holds the pages open? I've seen some with wire arms that do that
Answer: No, it does not. It’s a very sturdy, metal stand, but without bells and whistles.
Question: Where is this made? What country? Thanks
Answer: TRUSTED FOR OVER A CENTURY: The Krauth and Benninghofen families founded Hamilton Stands in Hamilton, Ohio in 1883. For 130 years Hamilton Stands has been synonymous with quality and durability and is one of the oldest music products companies in the US.
Question: How deep is the surface upon which the music or books, etc., would rest? Seems like Sfphome is saying 4.7 inches, but want to be sure. Thx
Answer: It measures 2-3/8" deep. Plenty big enough for several books. This stand is very sturdy - nothing cheesy about it at all. I don't know where they're getting 4.7 inches.
Question: I want to use it for holding 17inch laptop and take online lesson. can the stand hold it
Answer: I think the stand will support the weight of the laptop. However, it probably won’t be an ideal fit considering that a 17” laptop is rather large and bulky. If your budget allows you to, I suggest you purchase a large-screen tablet and use that instead of the laptop.
Question: Does this stand come with padded feet? If not are there foot pads to add like the KB95 series
Answer: It does not come with padded, rubber or feet of any kind. It is a fantastic stand, just like we had in school 30 years ago before everything was made of cheap metal & plastic. Contact Hamilton direct for feet if you can't find them on Amazon. I'd like to get some for my stands as well.
Question: Where is the model number on the stand. Looking for the model I already own
Answer: I don't think it is on the stand. I searched mine and could not find it. I'll rely on looking it up via "My Orders" on Amazon (which tells me the model # is "KB1D"). Amazon's ASIN is: B0002FOBKI

  • Acoustic guitar hanger for pegboard
  • 9-Inch, 180 swivel
  • Black

User questions & answers

Question: Is it a single unit? Or are there two as shown in the picture
Answer: there are 2 lengths the picture is showing the differences one the longer of the 2 is for acoustic guitars the other is for electric guitars and is shorter, more hooks can be used with the shorter guitar holders but the design is for bodies like electric which are not as wide as dreadnoughts. I do not know who put up this picture go see GH180P Performance Plus for a better explanation. The copy says 9" so it should be the longer hook. The 5" see EH180P is shorter. Hope this helps
Question: Does this work with standard tool pegboad
Answer: Yes, I own these and they hang great on standard pegboard.

User questions & answers

Question: Will it hold a 2 in thick music folder
Answer: yes, it would hold a 2-inch 3-ring notebook or music book. The bottom is less than 2 inches wide, so a closed book would partly overhang the front edge. The rear kickstand creates a point of contact on the tabletop along with the rear edge of the base on which the music rests.
Question: Does this come with any sort of carrying case
Answer: No, it comes in a box (~1.5"x2.5"x 17") that fits the folded up stand.
Question: Would this be at a good angle and height if I put it on top of our grand piano for my 9 year child
Answer: Seems to me a 9 yo generally might barely be tall enough to comfortably play (without a cushion or other elevation). So on the piano at the angle it sits, visual comfort may not be good for that.
Question: How big is this stand when unfolded? Thanks
Answer: The rail at the bottom is a little over 17.25" wide. The wings at the top are about 22" wide. The single foot in the back is a little over 6-6.5" from the front of the book rail at the bottom when it is extended, but it is stable if you don't go quite that far. When folded up, the entire unit is about 16.5" long.
Question: Will this fit 19mm pegboard or 25mm pegboard (or both
Answer: It’s a 3inch spread so probably either would work with a little effort.
Question: Does anyone know if this could hold a ukulele, meaning would the uke headstock be too small and fall through? thanks
Answer: Depends on your ukulele if the pegs are like guitar machines and stick out the side it should, as the width of the yoke is 2 1/4", if the pegs are friction style and come out the back it may not. these do fit most ukes from soprano to baritone with guitar style tuners and the yoke can be bent slightly to open or close the gap but I would not push for more than 1/4" either way.
Question: It looks like there is a wingnut on the swivel. Can that be tightened to secure the angle? Also, is it wide enough for a 5 string bass
Answer: Yes the angle can be secured and no problem on a 5 string bass (6 string bass fits but is tight).
Question: What's the weight limit for these when properly installed in pegboard? Will it hold a heavy electric bass
Answer: The EH180P is strong enough to hold about 10 lbs which is should cover most instruments including a Dan Armstrong Lucite Bass, but the real issue is the quality and thickness of the pegboard. If it is thin pegboard the material around the holes may crack. If you have a good grade of pegboard this should not happen. The Performance Plus EH180P is reinforced and have good welds. Since specification change by seller it could vary from one to another. The Performance Plus brand EH180P is recommended

User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit a six string bass? I have seen many recommendations for this stand but if the neck won't fit the yoke
Answer: I see no reason why it shouldn't. the spread at the hanger on mine measures about 2 1/4 inches side to side, so if your nut width is in that range, you should be good. It fits my Epiphone 12 string, which has a 2" wide nut. If not, the hanger part of the stand is made of two pieces of flat stock riveted together, and they can be spread apart to fit a wider nut if necessary. Length wise, there should be no problem, as it fits my Thunderbird bass with no problem, and I don't know of a longer bass. The only guitar or bass I can think of that wouldn't work with this stand is a headless type, like a Steinberger.
