Its tuneful solid spruce top, easy-to-play neck, and mahogany back and sides make the CC-60S a perfect choice for the beach, the patio or the coffeehouse. Other features include a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, & walnut fingerboard.

What does “Concert Size” actually mean?

Dating to around 1854 and the standard size around the time of the U.S. Civil War and for many years thereafter. Its bright, trebly sounding design gradually gave way to larger, more bass-heavy guitars, although the style has enjoyed a recent resurgence. General dimensions: 18" long, 4 1/4" deep, 10" upper body width, 13 1/2" lower body width.

Is there a difference in sound?

Generally speaking, deeper bodies add greater resonance and more resounding bass; shallower bodies have more projection and focus, with better bass-to-treble balance. The concert size is favored by players because it is well-balanced, compact, comfortable to play, and offers all the qualities of a great sounding guitar.

  • Solid mahogany top
  • Comfortable walnut fingerboard with rolled edges
  • New, easy-to-play neck shape
  • Mahogany back and sides
  • Includes the CC-60S, along with Gig Bag, Tuner, Strap, Strings, Picks, Fender Play Online Lessons, and Austin Bazaar Instructional DVD

User questions & answers

Question: Is it a left or right handed guitar
Answer: Good Question! I looked in my original order history and it took me too this same listing with 16 reviews. Mine is Lefty, but it does not say in the description . A few of the reviewers mention lefty. The model number at the Fender Website does not specify. In amazon you can filter by left handedness and this listing will still remain . The pictures are RH guitar.! The part number does not cross reference to anthing as it is a combo-pack. Tough call! Possibly contact seller or buy guitar only, or be prepared to return it. My best guess at this point is 70% chance its Lefty.
Question: What are the guitars dimensions
Answer: 39"x14"x4 and 1/2. Much more comfortable than my full size
Question: Is this Made in China
Answer: Yup. Sticker on the Guitar said so.
Question: What is the length of this guitar
Answer: 39 inches

User questions & answers

Question: Weres it made
Answer: Can't be definitive: I really, really want to say Made in USA ... as I saw when I explored documentation and other comments while buying our two Taylors. On one ours, it has a sticker in it that says "Made in Mexico", not sure if all of them are made there, or just some. Great guitar.

User questions & answers

Question: What details make it a lefty? Why does the fact sheet describe it as right hand orientation
Answer: The order of the guitar strings from top to bottom have been reversed, so that when the guitar is held in left-handed orientation, the strings are in the same order as a right-handed guitar (i.e thickest string is the top string). I'm not sure why the fact sheet describes it as right-handed. I might guess though that the publishing costs of the fact sheet would increase if they made a sheet specifically for the left-handed guitar. I ordered this guitar from Amazon, and it came as left-handed. And what a great little guitar!

Product description

200 Series Deluxe 224ce-K Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar Shaded Edge Burst. Taylor's 200 Deluxe Series delivers all the essentials of a great guitar - exquisite playability, a full and articulate voice, impeccable intonation up the neck, and Taylor's top-of-the-line, professional- grade pickup - at a price that's within reach of many. This collection strikes a sweet balance between tasteful design constraint and aesthetic variety, bringing Taylor's signature tonal clarity and playability into a stage-worthy mix of guitar options. The Deluxe moniker refers to the addition of a fully-glossed body as opposed to a glossy top with satin back and sides. In addition, all 200 Deluxe Series guitars ship in a deluxe hardshell case made by Taylor for optimal fit and protection. Body Shape A Taylor original, the Grand Auditorium helped establish the Taylor acoustic sound. The popular body style makes for a versatile guitar that yields ample volume in response to light fingerpicking, and reacts to medium strumming and flatpicking with a clear, balanced sound across the tonal spectrum. If you want a great all-purpose guitar, the GA is an excellent choice. Tonewood A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. Solid Hawaiian koa is a hardwood that produces a natural compression, yielding more of a controlled "roll-in" effect to a note. The compression evens out a lively attack for a more balanced response. It delivers strong fundamentals with clear and direct focus - similar to mahogany - but with extra top-end shimmer and chime. Layered Hawaiian koa back and sides create a visually appealing and complementary platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top. Layered wood is less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel with their instruments or simply require more durability. Electronics...

Product description

Academy Series Academy 12e Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural. Over the past four-plus decades there’s a resounding theme from Taylor Guitars: passion for improving the guitar-playing experience. As a company that’s passionate about exposing more players to the pleasures of making music, Taylor isn’t content to see people throw in the towel before they have a chance to get their groove on. The Academy Series, which includes the Academy 12e Grand Concert, represents Taylor’s effort to support the development of the entry-level guitar player. Taylor believes that in many respects a player who is just beginning deserves the best-playing guitar. Most newcomers to the instrument — and parents buying for their kids — are understandably reluctant to pony up for a more expensive, “nice” brand of guitar without knowing whether the interest will last. So the approach tends to be: start with an inexpensive, “good-enough” guitar, and if things progress, upgrade to something better. But all too often this ends in hand-wringing frustration, where would-be music-makers walk away from the instrument blaming themselves for not having enough musical talent or physical dexterity, when, in fact, the real culprit all along was the guitar. The Playing Experience Academy Series guitars, like this Academy 12e Grand Concert, are designed to offer enough immediate gratification to encourage a new player to keep playing. To do so, the playing experience was Taylor’s priority: ? Easy to hold and play: The body is comfortable and lightweight, and easy to strum and fret ? Rewarding sound: Yields a good sound easily in the hands of a newer player ? Not too precious: Durable, minimal, so it's not intimidating for a novice to play and care for ? Broad appeal: Covers a broad range of music preferences Function and Form The Academy Series Grand Concert is intended as a fingerstyle guitar with the added benefit of a more compact body size for extra playing comfort. User questions & answers

Question: Will a lrbaggs anthem fit in this guitar
Answer: I personally don't know but I don't see why it wouldn't fit.
Question: Is this suitable for adults
Answer: This is grand concert sized. The smallest of Taylor's "full sized" guitars. It also has a shorter and narrower neck. In violins and classical guitars it would be called a 7/8ths but it is not a "baby" or "Parlor sized guitar. It is for adults (and anyone else who wants a more comfortable guitar for learning or couch playing.
Question: Is it possible to get the same guitar without the electrical pieces? I can't see ever needing that stuff
Answer: Yes, there were listings the last time I checked and they also cost a little less. Just remove the "e" and search for Academy 12 Grand Concert. The "e" seemingly indicates it is the electric-acoustic version. IMHO - it is worth the extra money to have the electronics because of the tuner which makes guitar life so much easier, especially when tuning outdoors or in a noisy room.
Question: How is the neck? I’m a beginner and would like something easy on the fretting hand
Answer: This is the #1 reason Taylor guitars became popular so quickly back in the ‘70’s. Acoustic guitars that played easily like an electric. Yes, this is easy on your hands.
