Question:	What type of padding does it have? I currently have one with felt padding. Will this scratch a grand piano music rack
Answer:	The padding is a thin, hard rubber, with some minor texture. The lamp adheres very well to the music rack on my baby grande and gives off a fabulous light. However, in response to your question, when I removed the lamp to look at the clip, I noticed a whitening on the varnish, precisely the shape of the clip. My piano is a 1909 model, so the varnish is probably the old, original. I wonder, if on newer pianos with modern finishes, the same thing would happen.

Answer:	It's 11" completely open. I closed it part way to give me a bigger spread of light. The two light fold together so it's adjustable.

Answer:	No, it does not. It’s fairly large and I would find it hard to pack. It is, however, a good design. The batteries don’t last long but, when plugged in, the light is bright, has 2 different intensity settings and can be angled in several positions. I’m glad that I purchased it.
