Question:	Do I need to buy rechargeable batteries
Answer:	No, the violin hanger is a separate piece. Even if you had the hanger in the bottom section, it would stick out with the stand collapsed. I've found this stand, in general, to not be very travel friendly (as far as quick setup and tear down), but it is very sturdy and fantastic for my practice room.
