13 best korg acoustic bass guitars

Korg is a well-known brand in the music industry, primarily recognized for its electronic musical instruments and accessories. While Korg is not traditionally associated with acoustic bass guitars, they do produce various musical accessories and equipment, including metronomes and general accessories that can be used by musicians, including those who play acoustic bass guitars. Here's what you should know about Korg's offerings in this context:

  1. Metronomes: Korg manufactures a range of metronomes, which are essential tools for musicians of all kinds, including those who play acoustic bass guitars. Metronomes help musicians maintain proper timing and rhythm during practice and performances.Korg's metronomes often feature various tempo settings, time signatures, and even advanced features like programmable rhythms to cater to different musical genres and preferences.

  2. General Accessories: Korg produces a variety of general musical accessories that can benefit acoustic bass guitar players. These may include items such as instrument cables, tuners, pedalboards, and pedal tuners. Tuners, in particular, are crucial for keeping an acoustic bass guitar in tune, ensuring it sounds its best.

  3. Instrument Accessories: While Korg may not be a primary manufacturer of acoustic bass guitars themselves, they offer accessories that can complement and enhance the playing experience. These accessories might include instrument cases, straps, stands, and even pickups or preamps that can be used to amplify the sound of an acoustic bass guitar when needed.

  4. Musical Instruments: While Korg is more renowned for electronic keyboards, synthesizers, and other electronic instruments, it's important to note that they may not have an extensive history in manufacturing acoustic bass guitars. If you are specifically looking for acoustic bass guitars, you may want to explore offerings from well-established guitar manufacturers with a focus on acoustic instruments.

In summary, Korg is recognized for its range of musical accessories and equipment, including metronomes and general accessories that can be useful for acoustic bass guitar players. However, if you are in the market for an acoustic bass guitar itself, you might want to consider brands and manufacturers that specialize in acoustic instruments for a wider selection and expertise in that category.

Korg TM60BK Tuner and Metronome Combo with Clip on Microphone (Black)

Korg

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Korg TM series which lets you use a tuner and metronome simultaneously, has been revamped. The TM-60 is the newest model and features a larger display that can show the tuner and metronome simultaneously. The battery life has also been dramatically improved. With the all-new TM-60, you’ll be able to enjoy pitch training and rhythm training without having to switch functions or be concerned with battery life.

Convenient and Easy to Use

Tuning and rhythm training are indispensable for brass band or orchestral practice. In addition to letting you use the tuner and metronome simultaneously, the TM-60 features a display that’s approximately 1.3 times larger than the previous model, allowing easy viewing even when the unit is placed on your music stand, and also allowing the tuner and metronome functions to both be viewed simultaneously. You’ll be able to use practicing techniques that are idiomatic to orchestral instruments, while varying the tone in time with the tempo, or checking the pitch of chords while using the metronome.

Excellent Response Meter

Korg's proprietary technology accurately detects the pitch without any time lag. The pitch drift that is prone to occur during long tones played on a wind instrument can be detected before it happens, letting you train yourself to produce unwavering tone with stable pitch.

Wide Detection Range

The TM-60 can detect note names and pitches for a variety of orchestral and other instruments. The range from C1 to C8 can easily be detected. Even acoustic instruments that are difficult to detect because their sound contains a significant amount of low-frequency energy or a large number of partials, such as guitar and ukulele, can be tuned easily and accurately. By attaching the CM-200 clip on microphone to your instrument, the vibrations can be sent directly to the tuner for more accurate tuning.

  • KORG TECHNOLOGY: High precision, simultaneous use tuner and metronome with Instant pitch detection response
  • CONVENIENT: Large, backlit LCD display, adjustable calibration and marked third intervals
  • VERSATILE: C1-C8 detection range for variety of instruments, 15 rhythm variations and 3 types of tempo settings
  • PRACTICAL: Memory backup, auto shut off and long battery life
  • PRECISE: CM-200 clip on microphone ensures accurate tuning every time

User questions & answers

Question: Do they sell the clip on part
Answer: Are you getting that speed directly connected to your modem, or via wireless? If it is via wireless, the wireless router you have COULD be the issue (not necessarily, but potentially). If those are the speeds that you're getting when hard connected to the SB6190 modem, then Comcast likely isn't providing the bandwidth they promised. You also need to know your computer's network card capabilities, which may limit the DL speeds, even when hard connected to the modem.I have this modem and I have the Comcast 150MB/s plan. I usually get DL speeds that are surprisingly over 150MB/s when hard connected to the modem. This modem can handle DL speeds much higher than 250MB, so if you're hard connected to it, the problem is likely with Comcast.
Question: will this tuner work on voice
Answer: Its definitely not true that it has "no RAM" as you can see at the link below even the older SB6183 has 128MB of DDR3 RAM (and 16MB Flash for the firmware/OS). However people are correct in saying that how much dosen't really matter since this is only a modem. Unless you are only connecting one device straight into it you're going to be using a router, so the RAM/CPU specs of it your router are far more important. This modem will not be your bottleneck at any point. If I had to guess though since its designed to support up to 1.4 Gbps downstream speeds my guess would be around 128 to 256MB of DDR3 RAM. I do know it uses the intel puma 6 chipset which is based on a 1.2Ghz atom CPU.In general though I say just go with whatever you can afford that supports the largest numbers of bonded channels so you have a more future proof modem. I decided to go with this Arris because that's the brand my small local cable co seems to always use so I feel there is a better chance of them updating the firmware of it. The Netgear CM600 would be a good choice as well since its close to the same number of bonded channels supported (24x8, vs the 32x8 of this Arris modem).https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29783073-SB6183-Naked-SB6183-DG1670A-Latency-Shootout (the RAM chip on the mobo is 128MB of Samsung DDR3 RAM)
Question: Includes the CM-200 clip on microphone
Answer: Just off the phone with Xfinity to get this provisioned (can't do it on your own, they have to add it in via MAC address before it will work). As previously mentioned in these answers this does NOT support Gigabit speeds with Comcast/Xfinity. Gigabit requires DOCSYS 3.1, this is 3.0. It does work with the 150Mbps (what I have), 250, and 400 plans. Xfinity site says "Up to 644 Mbps" - https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/device/arris-sb6190-461
Question: Can it be used for a trumpet
Answer: Yes, it comes with a 3ft. coaxial cable and a 3ft. RJ45 cable...

User questions & answers

Question: can i run it out to my other things, like pedal and amp and always keep it on
Answer: Yes use the effects loop
Question: My dog ate the power cable do you know where i can get a replacement
Answer: Try a local music store
Question: So there is a silent mode
Answer: Yes.From the product description here on Amazon: Mute function lets you tune silently.
Question: Where is that 1U rack from the pictures available? I can't find it
Answer: That could be a custom job. SKB does make a road case that's 1U, but they're kind of pricy. As far as mounting goes, you can get a set of 1U rails and mount them in any box that's got an internal width of about 20" and the depth of the rail bracket as the tuner itself has almost zero depth. If I had to venture a guess as to your original question, if it's not made by SKB, it's probably a custom fab job.

Answer: I just did this myself. Hold the mode (middle) button in for 2 seconds, and the 440 will flash. Then press the A4 (lower) button several times to scroll through the Hz, from 430-450. I love this tuner! My instrument sounds better than ever, over several octaves!

Question: How well does this work with a bass guitar
Answer: not familiar with the Pitch Clip , but bought this and was not satisfied...a little too difficult to fine tune...bounced back and forth...(flat/sharp)...better with tried and true old school clip on tuners...Fender etc.
Question: What is the difference between this and the Pitchclip
Answer: It could be used for voice. It's a very sensitive tuner. I love Neil Young's voice, but if you have a NY type voice then I don't believe it will help you.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this be used during a parade for portable usage
Answer: It is better used inside, but it can be used for a parade. You may have to mic it. Not sure if it would be loud enough without.
Question: Please tell me, does the ⅛" imput socket on the amplifier's top (described as an MP3 input "for jamming along") accept and play an analog/mic signal
Answer: No, it's line level input socket. You can't connect microphone directly to the line level input socket. You need a microphone pre-amplifier for that. As soon your microphone is amplified ( using an optional mic pre-amp) you can connect it to that "MP3" line level socket.
Question: Really? david bowie's album name and logo? how's this possible
Answer: We love Bowie too, but Blackstar started in 2007, long before his 2016 album.
Question: I have a question. The model Specified on this page is for bass guitar
Answer: Yes, it is specified for bass guitar. The compressor is useful for something this small being used for bass and actually at low volumes reproduces low B better than expected.

User questions & answers

Question: Is the switch "clickless" like the full-size Pitchblack pedal
Answer: I've have not used the full-size Pitchblack, but my mini never gets used because the "pop" is offensive at mid-large size shows. It may be due to the fact that I'm using an acoustic guitar with a phatom powered DI. When using my electric guitar plugged into an electric guitar amp, there is no "pop". You will still hear a slight "click" from the mechanics of the switch, but I doubt that would bother anyone.
Question: does this come with the 9v power
Answer: No, it does not. You can use any 9v pedal power such as One Spot or Powerall.
Question: Does this pedal have silent tuning? Meaning, does it turn off the sound of your guitar while you use the pedal to tune? Thanks for the help
Answer: Yes it does. If you push the button it cuts off the amp and tunes it without sound.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this have or any one figure how to do 3/4 time or 6/8 time? or is it based strictly on
Answer: I've never managed to get 3/4 or 6/8 out of the unit and I've tried.
Question: Is the power cord included
Answer: No
Question: Can I plug it into my amp
Answer: Yes, William, you can plug it into your amp. There's a headphone output on the back, a miniature jack, so you'll need to get an adapter to 1/4 inch phone jack for your guitar amp input, and off you go, dude.
Question: What cable do I need , my amp takes
Answer: What I like about this thing is it has a decent internal speaker so you don't necessarily need to plug it into an amp. The korg uses a 1/8" jack for the headphone/line-out. To plug the device into your guitar amp, I use a 1/8" cable to a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter. There are two 1/4 jacks on the back of the KR mini, but these are designated for the optional foot switches. As for the other answer, I'm hoping he maybe knows something that I don't.

User questions & answers

Question: the screen has light
Answer: Turn on the tuner and play a string. it will tell you what note you are closest to and whether you're sharp or flat of that note. Tune up or down as necessary to get to the desired note. The only way to go wrong is to be attempting to tune a string an octave higher or lower than it should be. However, it will be more than obvious if you've got a string tuned to the wrong octave. If you're an octave too low the strings likely to be lying on the fingerboard. If an octave too high, well, it's more likely that the string broke before you got it tuned that high. This tuner is as accurate as any tuner needs to be outside of scientific purposes. I have been using mine for 5+ years and it's always reliable.
Question: How would I tune a violin with this
Answer: Carol, Forgive the delay. I had to do a little checking on the harmonica. I cannot honestly say it would work do to the ability to tune an instrument. For instance, tuning a hammered dulcimer uses a pick up lead attached to the instrument and an adjusting wrench to tune the instrument. I do not recall a harmonica being a tunable instrument, but then I could certainly be wrong. I use my Korg on all eight of my instruments and like it. Wishing you well.
Question: harmonica
Answer: It uses a different tone to accent the 1st beat. That is the default pattern. It also has a variety of "accents" for different beat patterns you can cycle through.
Question: Does the metronome have an accented 1st beat of the phrase
Answer: Yes
