Answer:	Metal. It is fine for student use. I buy them for my band students. Plastic mouthpieces should only be used in extremely cold weather to stop mouthpiece from sticking to lips. They really don't respond as well as metal.

Answer:	I sorta got it to work on my blessing mouthpiece on my cornet but now can't really get to work again. It works great with a Bach mouthpiece on the trumpet. It works best with certain brands of mouthpieces (Bach and Yamaha, so I am told). So, perhaps with a new mouthpiece? It would be simple enough if the manufacturer would make the threaded fitting piece as little as 1-2mm longer, it would work well on both with no problems. I hope they read this for the sake of us cornet players.
