User questions & answers

Question: Dose it come with amp or cord
Answer: It does not include an amp cord, no case, no picks, and no strap. I purchased an Orange CR20L 8" amp, I highly recommend. It's small but mighty and definitely better quality than the beginner/bundled amps from Fender or Peavey. Guitar straps for beginners are reasonable ($6-25). I play for my own pleasure...so I bought a guitar stand instead of a case. Have fun jamming!
Question: Does this guitar work with rock smith
Answer: Just about any electric guitar should do.
Question: is this full size
Answer: Yes
Question: Is this size okay for 8 year old? What else do I need to get him, like amp, cables, etc
Answer: This is a perfect guitar for an 8 year old. As far as beginner guitars go this one is one of the best I've come across. As far as amps and cables. Youd be good with going with a cheaper amp. A cheap beginner amp would be line 6. The spider 4 model is a good one. It certainly isn't top of the line but it lasts pretty well. The Cables are up to you. When i recieved the guitar it came with a cheap cable. I prefer live wire cables. The size is dependent on your preference. If you have a guitar center in your area the store near me offers live wire cables with a lifetime warranty included. So you can replace broken cables if you have to for free

User questions & answers

Question: Can you put a whammy bar on this
Answer: yes if you know how to route out the areas with the proper equipment and skills. so buy one with it!!!
Question: what gauge strings come with this ibanez
Answer: 10's
Question: How low is the action or how low can you get the action on this thing
Answer: In my case, the action was set properly (I like it lowwwww). However, the frets were not properly leveled accordingly. Thus, it had some buzzing and a few notes that did not play. Know that you may have to have it worked on before it plays well (part of the hazards of buying something like this online).

Question: What is the lower bout's width? Thank you
Answer: The lower bout is 13.5 inches wide.
Question: are the pickups bright, dark, or somewhere in the middle

Answer: I have both and I’ll tell you it’s way better than an SG. I’ve had so much fun jamming on this thing 10/10 worth the price

User questions & answers

Question: Can you put a floyd rose in it
Answer: No. The body would need a cut out to go forward and back with a floyd rose.
Question: Does it gave a tremolo bar
Answer: No, this does not use a tremolo(Whammy) bar.
Question: how good is the quality? just as good as the average Ibanez
Answer: Very good quality for the price. Much nicer than I thought it would be. The only thing I would say is it goes out of tune faster than a full size guitar, but I think that is a typical issue with 3/4 size guitars. After I put some new thinner Guage strings on it stays in tune much better. Very nice guitar!
Question: year old female, small hands most likely will use this guitar for rocksmith 2014, is this small for kids? Or can Adults used this too
Answer: I'm a 5'8 male, and while the highest frets can be a bit crowded for me, I find it more enjoyable to play the lower frets than on my 25.5 inch scale schecter. Overall, it's a fun, fast, usable guitar at a great price.

Ibanez AS53TF Electric Guitar, Trans Finish

Ibanez

Based on 147 reviews Check latest price

Product description

With it's classic design the Ibanez AS53 semi-hollowbody electric guitar gives you the comfort of a smaller body and modern sound for an amazing low price. The sapele top, back, and sides offer plenty of warmth and punch, and the mahogany neck is fast and comfy. While the AS53 looks like your typical semi-hollowbody guitar, its body is about the size of a traditional solid body guitar. Less bulk and weight make this guitar extremely comfortable to play. A pair of humbuckers can take your amplifier from sparkle to snarl in the blink of an eye. When you're on a budget and need a whole lotta bang for the buck, you won't be disappointed with the Ibanez AS53 semi-hollowbody electric guitar. Solid body players sometimes shy away from semi-hollowbody guitars due to the size even though they want the tone. The Ibanez AS53 crosses that barrier with a smaller body that is comfortable to solid body players, but is still a true semi-hollowbody guitar. Using the classic maple body and mahogany neck combination, the AS53 gives you the semi-hollow sound you want. No more having to get used to oversized and uncomfortable guitars for great tone. The Ibanez AS53 is the perfect culmination of tone and size. Ibanez designed the AS53's ACH-ST pickups to give you warm and well-balanced tone. They really bring out the depth and tonal complexity in the AS53's all sapele body. At the same time, ACH-ST pickups do an amazing job suppressing noise and reducing the feedback that tends to plague semi-hollowbody guitars.

  • Sapele top, back, and sides
  • Mahogany Neck
  • Bound Rosewood Fingerboard
  • Two ACH-ST open-coil humbuckers with ceramic magnets
  • Master volume/tone

User questions & answers

Question: Will a musiclily pro 54mm guitar double locking tremolo fit this guitar
Answer: In order to install any full floating tremolo into this guitar, you'd need to route the back and top of the guitar to fit it. This is a bit labor intensive and not recommended, but it is possible. If you wanted to install it without doing any wood working, it would not be possible.
Question: Is there a manufacturer's warranty
Answer: Yes, any Ibanez electric guitar bought new from an authorized dealer in the USA carries a 1 year warranty. For more details on the warranty check www.ibanez.com
Question: Is it a full size guitar? is it set up for a whammy bar
Answer: This is a short scale instrument and not a full scale. It does not have a whammy bar or tremolo system and doesn't have the compatibility to easily add one.
Question: Is the body basswood or poplar
Answer: According to the Ibanez website, this is made of Basswood in the body.
