12 best sounding taylor guitar
Sounding a Taylor guitar refers to the process of producing sound from a Taylor acoustic guitar, which is known for its high-quality craftsmanship and excellent tonal qualities. Taylor guitars are popular among musicians for their rich, clear sound and comfortable playability. Here are some key aspects related to sounding a Taylor guitar:
Body Shape: Taylor offers various body shapes, including the Grand Auditorium, Grand Concert, and Dreadnought, among others. The body shape significantly impacts the guitar's sound. Grand Auditoriums are versatile with a balanced tone, while Dreadnoughts have a powerful and robust sound.
Tonewood: Taylor guitars are crafted using different tonewoods for the top, back, and sides. Common top woods include Sitka spruce and Engelmann spruce, while back and side woods can be made from various options like mahogany, rosewood, or maple. The choice of tonewood affects the guitar's tonal characteristics.
String Type: Taylor guitars are typically equipped with steel strings. The gauge and brand of strings used can have a significant impact on the guitar's sound.Lighter gauge strings produce a brighter tone, while heavier gauge strings can yield a warmer and fuller sound.
Action and Setup: The action of the guitar refers to the height of the strings above the fretboard. Proper setup, including adjusting the action and neck relief, ensures comfortable playability and optimal sound production. Taylor guitars are known for their excellent factory setup.
Playing Technique: The way you play the guitar also influences its sound. Techniques such as fingerpicking, strumming, or flatpicking can produce different tones. The attack, dynamics, and articulation in your playing style all contribute to the guitar's sound.
Amplification: Some Taylor guitars come with built-in electronics, allowing them to be amplified for live performances or recording. Taylor's Expression System is a popular pickup system known for reproducing the natural acoustic sound accurately.
Environment: The acoustic environment in which you play the guitar can affect its sound. The acoustics of the room, humidity levels, and temperature can impact the guitar's resonance and tone.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance, including string changes, cleaning, and proper storage, is essential for keeping a Taylor guitar in optimal condition and ensuring it continues to sound its best.
Playing-In: Taylor guitars often improve with playing over time. As the wood matures and vibrates, the guitar's sound may become richer and more nuanced.
Sounding a Taylor guitar is a combination of selecting the right guitar model, choosing appropriate strings, maintaining it well, and honing your playing technique. Each Taylor guitar has its unique characteristics, and the way it sounds can be a deeply personal and rewarding experience for musicians.

This is the Taylor GS Mini Rosewood - a GS Mini guitar with a sitka spruce top and layered rosewood for the back and sides. We love rosewood-bodied acoustics for their deep and warm tones, great for subtle rhythm playing that needs a midrange tone to cut through! The top is solid and its back and sides are layered. The guitar's body is a scaled-down Grand Symphony shape, smaller-sized but nonetheless robust.

Taylor Swift Signature Baby Taylor Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural. Conceived as a starter guitar for kids, the lovable Baby Taylor has maintained its enduring appeal in part by being a legitimate musical instrument that anyone can enjoy. With a slim 1-11/16" neck and a compact shape, the guitar is just right for a young player's hands and anyone who likes to pick up and play on the go. The three-quarter-size Dreadnought helped touring musicians like Taylor Swift sketch new musical ideas on the road, and it's been a reliable musical accomplice for travelers seeking inspiration while trekking the world. Swift fondly remembers her pint-size Baby Taylor as the perfect go-to guitar in between gigs during her early days of touring. "I used to sit in the back seat of the rental car while I was on my radio tour at 16, writing songs on my Baby Taylor guitar," she reflects. "I love the sound, and I love those memories." Recalling how the compact, portable Baby was a great songwriting tool for a girl on the go, Swift in turn wanted to encourage others to express their feelings through music, which led to the development of her signature model Taylor Swift Baby Taylor. All Baby Taylor models ship with a durable travel-worthy gig bag made by Taylor for optimal fit and protection. Tone Woods A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. Sitka Spruce is the most prevalent guitar top wood of the modern era. It blends stiffness and elasticity in just the right proportions which translates into broad dynamic range with crisp articulation. The arched back of the guitar generates more sound from a small-bodied instrument, and using layered wood back and sides create a sturdy yet receptive platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top. Layered wood is less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel w...

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the yamaha fs-ta concert all solid wood construction |
Answer: | Solid spruce top, laminate sides and back. Sounds pretty good. I have this guitar and use it for "taking places" that I don't want to take my more expensive guitars to. |
Question: | Does the pickup still work without a battery |
Answer: | Since a standard 1/4" cable isn't powered, the guitar still needs the battery - the chorus and reverb will work through the PA or amp; so there's no need for extra effects. I add delay through my VOX amp. |
Question: | Will you adjust the fingerboard of guitar before delivery |
Answer: | My guitar came preset. I changed the strings to 11’s flatwound and did do some neck adjustment myself. |
Question: | Does a gig bag come with the ls-ta concert? everywhere else it comes with a gig bag at the same price. but amazon says nothing about it |
Answer: | I know it does not say anything about it but yes I did receive one when I ordered it in February. There is no gig bag with the FSTA even when you buy it from a big box guitar store. Enjoy the LSTA as it is well worth it, I just was playing mine! I got it at a good price too! |
Product features
Actuator
An actuator installed on the inner surface of the guitar back vibrates in response to the vibrations of the strings. The vibrations of the actuator are then conveyed to the body of the guitar and to the air in and around the guitar body, generating authentic reverb and chorus sounds from inside the body.
Simple Controls
Three simple knobs let you adjust the amount of effects and the line out volume level. Keeping the controls small minimizes the area of the holes in the body material, which reduces acoustic sound loss.
(A) Chorus Control
(B) Reverb Control (Room/Hall)
(C) TA Switch/Line Out Volume Control
* Pressing the TA Switch for longer than 0.3 seconds activates the TA function.
* When a cable is connected to the line out jack, the line out volume can be adjusted by rotating knob (C).
* The reverb type switches from Room to Hall around the 12:00 position.
Battery Box
The battery box is integrated into the end-pin jack, which requires fewer holes in the body, thus reducing acoustic sound loss. Connect the cable from the jack to a PA or amp to use as an acoustic-electric guitar.

User questions & answers
Question: | does it have an endpin |
Answer: | It does have an endpin for a strap but no electronics. |
Question: | How is the action |
Answer: | I found it to be high. I had it professionally set up and the action lowered. Now it plays much nicer. |
Question: | Is this nylon or steel string |
Answer: | This is a steel string, it comes with an .010 set on it. |
Question: | Does this come with a case |
Answer: | It comes with a lightweight, non-padded gigbag. Luna Guitars sells a Safari line heavy-padded gigbag if you wish a better one. Gear Buddy's AHC5 hardshell case will work if you cover the guitar with the gigbag first. |
User questions & answers
Question: | Is this available in left handed |
Answer: | I couldn't tell you for sure. Being that it has the cutout it would definitely make a difference. |
Question: | How wide is the neck |
Answer: | As far as technically I don't have exact specifications. But I can tell you that I have small hands and its one of the easiest guitars I have had the privilege of playing. The overall design of the neck is not at all classical guitar like in nature more along the lines of an electric. For the price the sound is exotic and it resonates for days. I am overly satisfied. The one concern I do have is only its durability. Its so light and thin to accomplish the acoustics it might not hold up for decades we will see . |
