| Answer: | The strings are black with a kind of translucent gray/silver sheen to them, so they can appear like a very dark charcoal (looks like hawaiian lava rocks) at times when the light hits them a certain way, black at other times. The low G string is wound and is silver in color. Sound wise, I found the strings to be mellower...less "boomy" than the standard Aquila set which I find really nice on my 8-string |

| Answer: | Well they’re for a tenor scale, so they’d be awfully floppy on a soprano. And I’ve never seen an 8 string soprano, so your guess is probably better than mine. I’m not familiar with that model. Does the “15” mean it’s a 15” scale soprano? That’d help. What do you have on it now? If they worked, I’d do the same thing again. |

| Answer: | I'm pretty sure that this is a 1-string package. Check the Amazon store listing to be sure. I just Checked the Amazon store listing and saw that it said "unwound". So this product for sure is a nylon string covered with a copper powder coating. It is not surrounded by spiral-wound copper wire like the wound strings are. When you purchase the Aquila red 4-string pack, the low- g string is copper wound. When I looked on the Aquila website, I could not find a 4-string pack where the low-g string is unwound. Maybe things have changed since then, but that's the way it was one year ago. Since I love the sound of the low-g unwound string, I pay the extra money and buy the 4-pack of Aquila red strings and then I separately buy the 1-pack of the low-g unwound string. It cost a bit more money that way but I like the way that all four strings sound together when they are all unwound. I really love the way that my tenor ukulele sounds when strong with the Aquila red unwound strings, including the separate Aquila red low-g unwound string. It has a beautiful sound that reminds me more of a guitar. |
