We took these responses and problems to our design team and challenged them to find a total-guitar solution. Although there are no shortcuts to success when learning to play guitar, there are solutions to the challenges faced by all beginners and we included them all in our new easy play collection. Play smarter, not harder.

Product features
Cut The Tension
The shorter scale length, lighter weight strings, and custom action setup on EasyPlay guitars lessen the string tension and make the strings easier to press so you can practice more with less pain and less breaks.
Close The Distance
Chords are the building blocks of music, and learning proper finger placement from the very beginning will set you up with a strong foundation. We shortened the scale length of our EP guitars from a traditional 25.5" scale to 24.75".
Get Comfortable
Our EasyPlay guitars have been designed for maximum comfort with a specifically designed neck profile and slimmer body shape and depth. The smaller body size of an EP guitar also produces a more even tone to help you more easily learn notes and chords as you play.
Designed For Beginners
Painful fingertips, and hand cramps while first learning to play are common, which is why we designed the Cort EasyPlay series of acoustic guitars to help provide the next generation of musicians the ideal guitar to start learning.

The Cort AF590MF represents the first instrument manufactured specifically to bring you boutique features and appearance, at an extremely affordable value. The AF590FM first and foremost is an all-Mahogany Concert body guitar ideal for fingerstyle playing, and folk or alt-country music genres. The smaller body size produces a more focused and balanced sound than the dreadnought, with clear highs and a strong mid-range. The neck meets the body at the 12th Fret conjuring up images of vintage parlour guitars as well as classical guitars thus making the instrument more compact, without sacrificing tone or overall sound. We've chosen a unique Open Pore Black finish allowing not only a stunning visual effect, but also allowing the player to be in more direct contact with the wood which resonates freely. When being amplified, the AF590MF utilizes the Fishman Sonitone Preamp and Sonicore Pickup which has been installed internally to avoid cutting out any of the wood. This approach retains all of the natural resonance and pure acoustic sound of the instrument. A slotted headstock completes the boutique look.

User questions & answers
Question: | What size case should i get for the fender cd60 sce |
Answer: | It comes with a case. Mine did. It’s a dreadnaught, so it’s bigger than usual through the body and has a bigger tone. |
Question: | Would this be considered a thin bodied guitar. What is the thickness of the body on this guitar in inches |
Answer: | Not sure, I gave it as a gift to my son! But I know it’s not a thin one! It’s a full bodied guitar! |
Question: | how long is cable |
Answer: | 6 foot |
Question: | Is the fender cd-60ce bundle better than the yamaha apx500lllvs thin line bundle |
Answer: | For me it is, I like the sound of the CD-60 because it has more bass sound to it. I have had a Yamaha 720, great guitar but not what I was looking for. I am sure you will be very happy with Yamaha, great guitar maker. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How good is the quality |
Answer: | Zippers, pockets, finish and size are all good quality. Material is tough. There are a few innovative elements like the non-skid rubber foot and placement of the handle at the midpoint that make it easy to maneuver the guitar once loaded. The shoulder straps are nice if your walking and need to carry something in addition to the guitar. The padding is minimally adequate. That's not a quality issue. It's an economy issue. I only paid $16. My guitar fits perfectly - shallow bowl Adams style model |
Question: | Is this gig bag suitable for an electric guitar |
Answer: | I think an electric guitar would not be snug in this case. It is large enough for an acoustic guitar, which is much thicker than an electric. |
Question: | Does this fit an archtop jazz guitar |
Answer: | From images I have seen on the web, the archtop jazz guitar looks shallower than a dreadnought acoustic. Measure the overall length. If it's less than 41 inches, you're probably good to go. |
Question: | Does this come in a large flat box or is it rolled or folded in a smaller box |
Answer: | It comes folded in a small box. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Where is this made |
Answer: | Mine was manufactured in China. |
Question: | What's the difference between natural & satin |
Answer: | Natural means that the wood hasn't been painted. Satin means that the finish is softer and less mirror-like than glossy. So a guitar can be both natural and satin. |
Question: | My son is telling me this guitar will not be usable out of the box and it will need work. Such as grinding parts down |
Answer: | I've been playing guitar for 30 years. I bought this as a starter guitar for my son. I like the fact that it was made by fender. He is only had it since Christmas and is already writing his own songs. The guitar sounds great and comes with everything you need to get started. No grinding or alteration needed. He will have to tune it often in the beginning because guitar strings tend to stretch but that's okay because it teaches them how to tune. It also comes with three months of online guitar courses. Anyway I think it's a great guitar to start on. |
Question: | I just read the comments that it is good for beginners! It means this guitar doesn’t good for profession players |
Answer: | I've had professional players play this guitar and do just fine with it. They've said the sound is good for the price. In my one year of playing, one thing I've learned is the better the sound the more you'll pay to get it! Another is you can change the strings or make minor setup changes to get better sound of it. There's always something to learn! |

User questions & answers
Question: | The guitar was missing one strap button, shouldn’t there be two |
Answer: | This model, like a lot of cheaper acoustics, only has one. The easiest thing to do is tie the other end of the strap to the headstock, by the nut. Or you could have a second button installed at a guitar shop (or on your own if you're brave). |
Question: | How long is the delivery? I need it on 27 for a present |
Answer: | Probably won't make it in time now |
Question: | How hard is it to tune yourself when you first get it? (Total rookie here- wanting to start learning |
Answer: | There is a tuner. You just set it to the guitar and plink a string, then the tuner shows the tone. It’s very easy. I was a very beginner but could tune it immediately. |
Question: | What’s the size difference between kid size and this guitar. It’s for an 8 year old. Is this too big |
Answer: | Yes, it's going to be too big for most 8-year olds. I'd recommend that you go to a regular guitar store and try several out before making your decision, so you have some benchmarks to help you decide. There are 3/4 sized guitars which sound pretty decent for beginners, and also there are cutaways and double cutaways (Yamaha for example) with thinner bodies that make it easier for a child or small adult to learn. Also ask about the "scale" of the guitar. Regular scale is 25.5 inches, but slightly shorter guitars will be easier for children and small adults to play. I recommend that you buy a brand name, as well. If the guitar is well-made, the person is more likely to stay with it and end up learning to play the guitar. |
