Answer:	The one I am familiar with is the Hudson cork mat. Two things you need to know, 1. Hudson really stands behind their product. I received a damaged one, called them and it was replaced in one day. Their customer service is absolutely top shelf! 2. The mat itself is very well constructed, perfect cut, visually extremely nice, and they were a pleasure to deal with, GREAT company.

Unlike felt mats that do attract dust and static. -While no platter mat will ever eliminate static, it is a great step to reduce static as it is non-conductive. -Static will not be caused by a cork mat, if by chance there is static, which is a common problem, the source of the problem is generally the room (a rug can cause static build up). Answer:	It will fit under the lid of the LP-120, but it doesn't fit onto my LP-120 spindle.

Answer:	The weight comes in a black powdercoated finish. Although I have not scratched any records using the weight some of my friends simply stick on felt pads at a cost of >$2

Answer:	Just a weight. I was very skeptical of whether it would improve the sound, but after 5 weeks and countless hours listening, I love it! In my setup, it tightens the bass. Without the weight, the bottom end is a bit muffled (hard to distinguish one bass instrument from another if both are being played at the same time). With the weight, however, I can easily distinguish the bass guitar from the bass drum, from the bottom end of the synth, etc... Easy enough to return should you decide you do not like it:)

After getting fed up with dust and static spoiling my audio experience, I decided to do something about it. The factory rubber and felt mats seemed to contribute to the problem, so I began a search for a new material. After much experimentation, I found my answer. Deer hide. It is fantastic! So supple and buttery soft. Not only is my static gone, but the bass response is enhanced and there is additional sound dampening from the motor, as well. The overwhelming majority of reviewers (myself included) even swear it makes their records sound better. I hand cut each piece which enables me to work around natural flaws, bumps, nicks, and fluctuations in thickness to create a uniform, defect free mat. I punch the center hole slightly smaller to create a tight fit warding off any mat slippage. With my setup, I like to use the leather grain side up. Through this process, I believe I’ve found what works best, and most importantly, what SOUNDS best. All leather is not created equally. Hides vary in quality, thickness, feel etc. I've made it my mission to find the best hides for our audio purposes. I emphasize that I use deer hide because it is twice as expensive per square foot than the leather used for some other cheaper turntable mats I’ve seen. I would much rather explain the price of my mats than apologize for the quality. Like the Model T Ford, you can have any color you want so long as it's black. ( I am actually doing a very limited run of chocolate brown. I found a gorgeous hide that looks especially great on wood paneled turntables). The mats fit nicely on all 12" platters. Answer:	Some Technics though have a slightly undersized platter and a surrounding lip. The SL-DL1 linear table, for example, has a lip with a diameter of about 11.5". So this leather mat would be a tad too big for that table. Pity.

Answer:	It should work well to dampen excess vibration and noise. It worked really well for my project carbon 3...that's a turntable in the same price range as the concept.

Answer:	One customers very helpful response to this question previously: "After doing your laundry load in the dryer, take your dryer sheet fabric (make sure it's a used one so all the stuff is off of it) and place it between your platter and your matt. The dryer sheet takes care of the static :) I did this on my Pro-Ject cause the fabric platter matt they sent with it clung to everything. After doing the dryer sheet trick, never stuck to another record again.This isn't the problem of the matt, it's simply a problem with static electricity, it'll happen to anything. If it's that dry in your record room you might wanna get a humidifier to moisten up the atmosphere a bit so static isn't such a problem."

Answer:	Personally, I wouldn’t know for sure. I haven’t see anything saying where the leather was sourced. My best guess is Deer or Caribou.

Answer:	David, I measured the mat with a set of calipers and found the thickness to be 1.7 mm or 0.067 inches thick. So far I like the mat better than the foam style mats. I have an old Acoustic Research AR-XA manual turntable from the '60s that is still functioning.

Question:	Which side should I use and what’s the difference
Answer:	Use the side with the circular cut out. The difference is unknown, contact the Manufacturer or look at the instruction if any.
Question:	So you do need to take the rubber mat off? It’s a little thinner not sure if that effects to earn angle
Answer:	Yes, it is a little thinner toward the spindle and it fits perfectly right over the original rubber mat. I have a fantastic vintage Realistic turntable that was the best you could buy during the late 70's. The mat does eliminate most of the static but not all of it. It really does help though and it looks very nice. After seeing my setup my son also bought the same cork mat and he really likes it. My hearing isn't as good anymore (too many concerts) and he said that the cork mat also improves the sound of the albums.

Answer:	Yes. You first need to remove the rubber mat on the Pioneer and this one should be fine. I bought it because my new t.t. came with a felt mat that I didn't care for. Good luck.

Answer:	I wouldn't advise it. There will certainly be a gap between the two (the bottom is ribbed) which would likely induce undesirable static charges.
