12 best cecilio full size violins
Cecilio is a brand known for producing a range of musical instruments, including full-size violins. These violins are designed to cater to both beginners and intermediate players and are recognized for their affordability and decent quality. Here's what you need to know about Cecilio full-size violins:
Size: Full-size violins are also known as 4/4 violins, and they are the standard size for adult players. They are suitable for musicians with arm lengths that can comfortably handle the full length of the violin.
Materials: Cecilio full-size violins are typically constructed with a solid spruce top, which is known for its resonance and tone quality. The back and sides are often made from maple, a common choice for violins due to its durability and tonal properties.
Finish: These violins may come in various finishes, including natural wood, dark finishes, and varnished options, depending on the specific model.
Sound Quality: While Cecilio violins are generally considered entry-level instruments, they offer decent sound quality, especially for beginners. The quality of sound can be further enhanced by using good-quality strings and having the instrument set up properly by a luthier.
Accessories: Many Cecilio full-size violin packages include essential accessories such as a bow, a case, rosin, and sometimes even extra strings. These accessories can be helpful for beginners who are just starting their musical journey.
Price: Cecilio violins are often priced affordably, making them a popular choice for individuals who want to learn how to play the violin without making a significant financial investment upfront.
Setup: It's important to note that while Cecilio violins offer good value, they may benefit from a professional setup. A luthier can adjust the bridge, soundpost, and strings to optimize the instrument's playability and sound quality.
Skill Level: Cecilio full-size violins are generally suitable for beginners and intermediate players. More advanced players may eventually seek out higher-end violins for a richer and more nuanced sound.
Warranty: Cecilio typically offers warranties on their instruments, which can provide some peace of mind to buyers.
Reviews and Feedback: Before purchasing any musical instrument, it's a good idea to read reviews and seek feedback from other players to get a sense of the instrument's overall quality and performance.
In summary, Cecilio full-size violins are budget-friendly options for individuals looking to start their journey into violin playing. While they may not offer the same level of craftsmanship and sound quality as high-end violins, they are a practical choice for beginners and casual players. Proper setup and maintenance can help maximize the performance of these instruments.

Answer: | Si!.. Se muestra con todos los accesorios. Una pieza 100% original y profesional. Recomiendo el Violรญn asi como el vendedor 100% ๐๐๐๐๐ 5 Estrellas |
Question: | Does it come setup |
Answer: | If you're unsure of how to place the bridge back on, take it to a music shop and they will assist you, music and arts centers will assist you in the store, I've done plenty of those at no cost when I used to work there. There is a certain direction and placing the bridge must sit to be able to sit properly, please seek a professional for instrument care. |
Question: | The tuning pegs do not stay after adjusting, is this normal |
Answer: | This product comes with two bridges that are made by the manufacture. No name on the bridges. I bought this product and it is an amazing deal for the quality and tone of the instrument! I suggest buying new strings, the ones that come in this set are cheap and dull sounding! Dominant Strings are suggested by this professional of 20 years! |
Question: | does this item come with an extra set of strings |
Answer: | hi Kyle D...no, I thought the violin would look like the picture because the wood looks rich and the violin strings looks like it would have a deep sound to it. However, if you haven't bought the violin yet..good.. I would spend a little more money on a good violin that would last you a long time..my mendini is still in the box oh and the strings on the violin are cheap..thank you for asking I hoped I help :) Deanne allen |
Question: | Es el primero que se muestra con todos los accesorios o es el naranja de abajo. Precio es profesional |
Answer: | Only one . easy to use. |
Question: | My daughter was trying to tune her violin (she's twelve and just starting out) and the bridge fell off. Is it difficult to put back on |
Answer: | The top button changes the pitch: ie 440 (which is standard pitch) to a faster pitch and turns the tuner off and on. The bottom button changes the instrument to be tuned: violin, viola, cello & base. Hope this helps. |
Question: | what bridge does this come with |
Answer: | The clip opens to 1 1/4 inch at the widest. Don't know if that's large enough for your bass. |
Question: | Does the actual violin that will ship look anything like this |
Answer: | It responds as quickly as any tuner meaning you can check long notes, but not short ones. However, the center markers for pitch are white with yellow ones on each side which means there's little contrast to see while you're playing. So I think it would be tough to monitor your pitch while playing. |

How to choose violin sizes
Violins are available in 8 different sizes: 4/4 (also called full size), 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16 and 1/32. Size 4/4 is the biggest and size 1/32 is the smallest. All adults, regardless of their size, use the size 4/4 violin.
To measure what size violin best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The violin size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The violin size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use. The following table lists the length of each violin size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of violin to get.
If you have a teacher, you should ask for your teacher's recommendation. If you don't have a teacher, we would recommend using the neck/wrist approach for students not using full size; for students who are deciding whether to used size 3/4 or size 4/4, use the neck/mid-palm approach. This is because it is always better those students feeling comfortable holding and playing the violin. However, while deciding between size 3/4 and size 4/4, if neck/mid-palm approach allows for size 4/4, then buying a size 4/4 is more economical since you don't have to buy another bigger size violin later. This is completely based on economical consideration. You should still decide what best suits your need.
Cecilio CVN-300 Violin

Emphasizing superior clarity, remarkable responsiveness, and a pleasantly bright and warm tone for a lively yet smooth feel, the Cecilio CVN-300 provides students with a durable and reliable instrument that they can be confident will not hinder their development on the violin.

Answer: | Hi , this violin no play with earphone. Para afinar as cordas precisa de um aparelho de afinar cordas. Esse nao vem incluso neste violino. |
Question: | Is this violin can play without electric too? can it play a regular violin |
Answer: | You can absolutely play this violin acoustically. The Electronics are just there if you happen to ever want to plug it in! |
Question: | How would you plug this in for headphones? I don't want to disturb my housemates |
Answer: | It's easy! Get an amp to headphone jack converter, just plugs into the amp port on the violin and provides headphone ports. You'll also need a muter, it's a big rubber thing that slips over the strings and bridge, that reduces sound allot, but not so much that the headphones wouldn't pick it up. User questions & answers
Question: | can you plug it into a amp because the images do not show a jack |
Answer: | Yes. There are 3 sockets on the back of violin. One is "Line out" (for amp). One is "Mic" and one is "Phones". The Included cord for the amp is a little over 9 feet and is decent quality. There is no static backround noise and my violin comes in clear. *In the stock photo the amp cable is to the right of the headphones. |
Question: | How can I plug it to my laptop? There is a chord but it doesn't fit the computer outlet |
Answer: | It has a quarter inch plug, look for either an A to D connector, or (more easily a rocksmith cable) a USB interface. Electric instruments are almost all the same you'll never have the same sound as an acoustic. But it will give you a unique and interesting sound. Especially at this price point. |
Question: | how quiet is it? I would be practicing during my toddlers nap time and need it to be very very quiet/silent with out an amp or head phones |
Answer: | I get about 81 dB playing open strings. Itโs not so quiet. |
Question: | Does the kit come with strings attached or must you string them yourself |
Answer: | The strings come attached. In fact, as soon as my violin came in, I took it to my local music store (who strung my acoustic violin) to have him check it out to see if the violin and strings are of good quality. He thought is was decent quality. I couldn't be happier with it, especially for the price. When you first get it, you will have to re-tune the strings every 10 minutes or so while you are playing, but after about a week of re-tuning (and it does need tuning less frequently with time) you are good to go. It doesn't hold a tune as well as my acoustic...I tune it before I begin playing usually, but it does hold well and the sound is fantastic. You can play it through an amp or into headphones and I think the sound quality is awesome. Hope this helps. :) |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come with the accesories in the picture |
Answer: | Everything that is in the picture comes in the case. |
Question: | If my daughter is 10, what size should I get |
Answer: | To find out the correct size your daughter need, you will have to measure her arm length from neck to mid-palm with her arm is fully extended and raised perpendicular to her body, just like holding a violin. Here's the chart for the Arm length vs the sizes:23" => 4/422" => 3/420" => 1/218 1/2" => 1/416 1/2" => 1/815" => 1/1014" => 1/1613" = > 1/32 |
Question: | Would this 1/4 fit a small 7 year old |
Answer: | 5 -7 yrs about 18"arm span 1/47-9yrs about 20"arm span 1/2 |
Question: | Can this be used as a fiddle |
Answer: | The bridge is the difference. A fiddle is a violin with a flatter bridge and a violin with a rounded bridge is played in the classic style and just called violin. Fiddle, as some mentioned is related to folk, country western, zydeco, bluegrass, folksy types of music. This is because the flatter bridge allows one to play chords more easily by making it easier to bow two or more strings at once. Whereas a standard violin with rounded bridge is easier to bow single notes as one would in an orchestral setting. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you plug the headphones directly into it or plug it into an amp and the headphones out of the amp |
Answer: | You can plug your headphones directly into it. |
Question: | Can you attach shoulder straps to the case or does the case come with straps |
Answer: | There were straps on the case already attached but I never loosened them because the violin was cracked. |
Question: | Hi, I'm really interested in this product, but will the strings of the violin be tuned |
Answer: | Hello Firas A. I saw your question about the violin strings, and I did a ton of research on this before I got it, so I'm to help another person do the same. I got this thing earlier this year, being a newbie at the violin thing, so I'm not an expert critic on the product. However, when I received mine, my strings were installed, but not in tune. The bridge had also fallen over (the light-wood thing that holds the strings up), but that was easy to re-erect. I found a free violin tuner app for my phone, and used that to tune my violin. The strings aren't the greatest quality, but they will work until you can get them replaced with a set of good ones. Over all, the whole deal wasn't bad. Just be sure to buy a shoulder rest.... |
Question: | Someone told me that this violin does not come with strings when you buy it, is that true |
Answer: | This violin comes with all the strings. I am very satisfied with the purchase as I play every week for my church and since I'm the only stringed instrument I need to be heard! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this size for an adult? I don't know much about violins but want to purchase one for my daughter, who is an adult |
Answer: | You just need to select the correct size when ordering, as there are various size options (1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 4/4). 4/4 is a full sized violin, so that is likely the size that your daughter needs if she is an adult. My 10 year old plays a 3/4, and will likely need a 4/4 within 2-3 years. |
Question: | I have had some bad luck with tuning keys, wearing out and flopping about after a few times tuning it, is this model relibale |
Answer: | I have had mine two years with no tuning peg problems. When I tune with the Pegs I push inward strongly. But I rarely need to use the pegs , mostly use the fine tuning screws. |
Question: | Is this an intermediate violin |
Answer: | My wife says yes and that she feels it is a great violin but that it would need a better bow. |
Question: | Is the bridge already on the violin |
Answer: | Mine was. And the strings, which are all that's holding the bridge in place, were tensioned and (approximately) in tune. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Whats the difference between mv400 and the cvn |
Answer: | CVN-300 has better wood quality than MV400. The CVN-300 has a bright and vibrant tone that produces a clear and crisp sound. |
Question: | Are the bows prerosined? I want to use one as a practice bow |
Answer: | No. They are not prerosined--but it does come with the rosin for you to do yourself. |
Question: | Do you ship to the Philippines |
Answer: | We are sorry to tell you that we do not ship to Philippines. |
Question: | Does this violin come assembled |
Answer: | I am a luthier and my wife is a violin teacher. One of her students brought me this exact violin (MV400) to have set up work done. Here is a list of what needed to be done: Refit the bridge feet, thin bridge blank, carve out excess wood from bridge, lower bridge arch for proper string heights, fit pegs and re-drill peg holes, lower and reprofile nut and re-slot string grooves, new tailpiece (cheap tailpiece only lasted 2 weeks before fine tuners seized up), new strings (cheap strings sounded truly awful, and started fraying after 2 weeks), remove excess varnish from neck/ fingerboard joint and smooth, and finally a new soundpost. The fingerboard was adequate, and I left it alone. The instrument itself is not terrible, and the pegs and fingerboard were of reasonable quality, but the tailpiece and string quality and very inadequate setup will have you spending an additional $200-$300 and I haven't even mentioned the awful bow, crummy shoulder rest, and crummy rosin. The instrument sounds reasonably good now after all the work, though at the end of the day, you still have a $100 violin. You really get what you pay for. |
