Answer:	I'm just a beginner, so keep that in mind -- I've not had a reason to take it to a shop. It's actually a much better cello than I expected.

Answer:	One of the reasons I chose the CCO-500 was because of the semi-hard case. The case (containing the cello) was itself placed in a large carton box. Though the carton was a bit damaged upon arrival, the case and the cello arrived in perfect condition. It was my understanding that the models with the lower numbers would be delivered in soft cases (though presumably also in a carton shipping box), and I did not want to run the risk. I think that the 600 comes in a true hard case, so that might be even better shipment-wise - but then you would want to go for the different sound quality of the 600 and the associated price. My order was shipped to Miami, and from there to Suriname, South America.

Finger Guide

There are many advantages of fingerboard points.

First, many beginners will choose to use fingerboard stickers. Transparent fingerboard stickers have detailed instructions. Answer:	The dowel is the sound post and it is supposed to connect the top and the back of the cello it goes slightly behind and under the treble foot of the bridge and is held in place by the compression of the top by the strings. It must be in place for the instrument to work and so there is structural support under the treble foot take it to a luthier and he will set the post and tune the instrument.

Answer:	I am not aware of what type O-ring that it requires. We do not have any in stock for that. I would suggest you contact TruGlo as this sounds like a warranty issue.

Answer:	To loosen: pull knob up and it loosens automatically. To tighten: push knob in and turn until desired tension is achieved (for me, around 2.5 full rotations).

Strings

Always clean your cello strings after playing. Keep a lint-free cloth inside your case and wipe off all the rosin dust and dirt from your strings after each time you play. This will make a striking difference to the sound.

Tunning Pegs

If pegs start to slip push the peg in towards the peg box to get a better grip.Use peg compound to help lock the pegs in place. You can also apply chalk onto the pegs where it is inserted into the peg box. You should apply peg drop every couple of months.

End Stopper

Use the end in to adjust the height of your cello while sitting on an armless chair with your feet flat on the floor. Adjust the height so that the bottom peg on the top is at the same level as the ear.

Bow

Rosin the bow regularly. For students it is probably sufficient to rosin the bow once a week. Too much rosin will produce a harsh tone and cause an excessive build-up of white rosin powder on the instrument.

How to maintain your cello?

Always clean your cello after playing. Keep a lint-free cloth inside your case and wipe off all the rosin dust and dirt from your instrument after each time you play. Pay particular attention to the fingerboard and the top of the instrument. If rosin dust accumulates and is not wiped off it will fuse with the varnish, and become impossible to remove without damage.Be careful not to knock the bridge out of place while cleaning.

Your cello is a fragile instrument and requires service on a regular basis. We recommend that you visit a skilled repair shop at least twice a year to have your instrument checked. An inexpensive, early repair can save you the expense of a major repair or overhaul.

Question:	Sound from the strings is ok through the pickup when strings are plucked, but when using the bow, I could barely hear it. Why
Answer:	When I bought my Cello, it was not broken in the sense that the neck snapped like you see in some older posts. My problem is that once the bridge is set up, the cello no longer fits into the hard case. The company was great to work with when I made a complaint about this and some scratches in the wood. I had to send everything back and they sent me a new set. The new cello was in perfect condition but the second case had the same problem of my first one where the cello would not fit into the case after the bridge was set up. I gave up after that as I didn't want to go through the motion of sending things back and forth. Nice cello after the strings are changed. I have a full set of medium Helicores'.
Question:	Regarding the curved "knee rests" -- are they flexible? Do they detach (so you can use one side only
Answer:	I've been playing this model for about 4 years. The sound is very good, but it's better if you change the strings. I get a better sound using Jargar medium. The color is similar than published. The bow is good, it's a little havier, but compared with other bows that I've used is best than them. You should apply rosin properly. For me, the space between strings and fingerboard has exact length to play easily with less effort. Taking into account the price is an excellent cello. Recently a friend asked me to play it, she liked its sound and comment that used less effort to play.

Where is the cello made

One of the reasons I chose the CCO-500 was because of the semi-hard case. The case (containing the cello) was itself placed in a large carton box. Though the carton was a bit damaged upon arrival, the case and the cello arrived in perfect condition. It was my understanding that the models with the lower numbers would be delivered in soft cases (though presumably also in a carton shipping box), and I did not want to run the risk. I think that the 600 comes in a true hard case, so that might be even better shipment-wise - but then you would want to go for the different sound quality of the 600 and the associated price.
