User questions & answers
Question: | Does this looper have true bypass |
Answer: | you could run a bass thru this, I just don't think it would be the best sound for a BASS, I WOULD GO DIRECT ! |
Question: | how do you delete a saved loop on this pedal |
Answer: | Never tried, but I don't see why it wouldn't. |
Question: | Does this come with a Power supply |
Answer: | It does. Press in both buttons, at the same time to activate it. You will need to watch the video on YouTube to learn how to set up your own sound. This thing is not user friendly when it comes to that sort of thing. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would I be able to plug a microphone into the Grand Canyon to loop an acoustic upright piano |
Answer: | Yes. You just need a way to change XLR to 1/4in. |
Question: | Can it be used together |
Answer: | Yes, looper and delay can be used together or either one separately. |
Question: | Does anyone know how many independent loop slots this unit has |
Answer: | It's dependent on length, so unlimited up to the max record time. BUT they all have to be the same length as well. |
Question: | Is this a good live looper |
Answer: | No, not at all. Very small pedal that isn’t really good for live applications at all. However, it sounds great. If you want a quality live looper stick with Boss |
Question: | I've been looking for a ts9 replacement that doesn't color tone but still gives a slight mid boost. is this it |
Answer: | The EHX East River is an exact replica of the TS808. It will color your sound the way your current TS does. You should try the EHX Soul Food with the gain between 9 and 12 o'clock it will be pretty transparent with a slight mid boost. |
Question: | Good for Bass |
Answer: | Wow man it's a cool,on a electric guitars,I love it,Sounds great on Fender & Gibson,i did not try on bass guitar,i'd like to say,i have Gibson and Fender and both this guitar has great sound,if u'd like check i'm sending the link from my concerthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q107uhuw0GwThanks |
Question: | Stack well with distortion pedals? Big mid hump like the ts9? Thanks |
Answer: | As well as stacking with a distortion pedal, I've only tried it along with the DOD 250. The sound was OK but not a great overdrive or gain sound. It has a nice mid sound but it is not a big overdriven sound like a ts9. The reason I this is my favorite pedal is that it has a mild overdriven sound that fits well with lots of music. |
Question: | Does this pedal comes with a power supply |
Answer: | This unit does not come with a power supply. It uses a standard -9vdc power supply though. |
Question: | Has anyone used this on a bass |
Answer: | I haven't tried using it with a bass but based on how it works I would assume it will work just fine.Sidenote: this thing works wonders. Especially if you play with a lot of distortion |
Question: | I get a lot of f.back while playing. Can this help me decrease the fback |
Answer: | I don't know what you consider feedback. I imagine you are talking about noise! This allows you to fine tune and eliminate a great deal of the background noise you get when you are not playing (hum), as well as some while playing. Some guitar brands are noisier than others.Play with it! It's fairly priced and works for me. |
Question: | Need to eliminate Feedback from a full hollowbody guitar G2420, when I add fuzz/overdrive/distortion will this do that |
Answer: | This works ok with the pedals you mention. It's sensitive so it takes time to get the right adjustment and the adjust you set for overdrive may be too much for a clean setting. I would look at other noise gates as well. |
Question: | How can you run the amps effects loop pedals through this gate |
Answer: | yes |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can it be used live |

Question: | Can this be used with an acoustic guitar |
Answer: | If you have an acoustic electric then yes. The device doesn’t have a microphone so it won’t pick up outside sound. You can purchase a devise that sits inside the acoustic guitar that makes it function as an acoustic electric. |
Question: | does it record the guitar or do all recording come from the computer |
Answer: | it records anything you play off your guitar by clicking the pedal on to record and off to stop recording, then it loops what you played |
Question: | Why can't you record in reverse |

Product description
Electro-Harmonix Canyon Delay and Looper Pedal The EHX Canyon Delay/Looper is much more than meets the eye. Onboard you'll find ten time-based effects, such as a Deluxe Memory Man-style analog delay, a reverb with plenty of control for matching your needs, a 62-second looper, and much more. And they can all be controlled with onboard tap tempo. The four control knobs are FX Level, Delay, Feedback, and the effect selector, and like many other pedals from EHX, the Canyon packs a lot of extra tweakability and tones under the hood. Powerful delay pedal At its heart, the EHX Canyon is an incredibly deep delay pedal for its diminutive size. With a twist of the selector knob, you can choose from eight different delay voicings, including modulated delay, tape-like delay, and even a Shimmer setting. The Tap/Divide button determines the rhythmic subdivisions you'll access by tapping out the tempo. And holding it down changes the function of the control knobs for deep editing parameters such as the repeated signal's modulation, tape age, and more. Onboard 62-second looper The looping effect onboard the Canyon pedal is plenty for practice, songwriting, and even live performance. Simply pull up the loop function and step on the footswitch to start, stop, overdub, and erase your loops. And you can get up to 62 seconds of loop length, which is a ton of time for such a multi-faceted effects device. Reverb and more Electro-Harmonix didn't stop with delay and a looper. They also crammed a great-sounding reverb into the unit. The reverb can be tailored to offer a great hall, room, and spring sound. And adding in a quick delay with low repeats instantly calls to mind the slap-back tones of the 1950s. The reverb on the Canyon sounds so good, it would be well worth the price of admission on its own.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you set up a dual delay with the “multi” setting for a quarter note plus dotted eighth delay (like u2?) wish the modulated dmm could do that too |
Answer: | Unfortunately I don' t think the Canyon will do a dual delay. It will do dotted eight or quarter not but not both. At least I didn't see it in the manual. I thought U2 was just dotted eighth... but I'm not a U2 expert... Here is the link to the manual: https://www.ehx.com/assets/instructions/canyon.pdf |
Question: | I own the awesome deluxe memory man. would this be redundant with what i have, or add something new? nothing beats the dmm |
Answer: | I don’t like fidgeting with my pedal board when I’m playing so I have 3 delays on it. I think this is an amazing delay but I primarily use it for the reverse function. Is having 3 delays redundant? Another plus is I can put 3 pedals in the space my old memory man takes up. |
Question: | Broken out of box..what to do |
Answer: | get in contact with seller. They should steer you in the right direction. |
Question: | Is this a digital or analog delay? i'm getting into ambient guitar, want a second delay to go with my deluxe memory man. need a digital |
Answer: | I believe this uses digital technology. It has a standard Digital Delay in addition to emulations of Analog Delays. Here is a list of all 11 modes: 1. ECHO: digital delay 2. MOD: modulated delay 3. MULTI: multi-tap delay 4. REVRS: reverse delay 5. DMM: Deluxe Memory Man 6. TAPE: tape delay 7. VERB: reverb plus delay 8. OCT: octave delay 9. SHIM: shimmer 10. S/H: sample and hold 11. LOOP: looper mode w/max loop length of 62 seconds |
Question: | Can this be used with out the foot pedal |
Answer: | You can use it without the foot pedal, however you will have to use some trickery to select different tracks, and without an interface you won't know which track you are on until you press play. I personally do not have the pedal and I still use this unit a lot for recording and mixing down studio music. |
Question: | Does Vienna Teng use this looper on stage |
Answer: | Vienna Teng used the previous model (2880) for several years. At some point, she did update to this model (45000). Both loopers function very similarly, but the 45000 has the ability to store 100 different loops to the SD card and has an additional monitor output. |
Question: | So each of the 4 channels can only hold up to four loops? Do I understand that correctly |
Answer: | No, you can loop forever on all channels. You can use 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 in stereo. Or one track only. You can overdub forever, once you start to layer sounds it gets a great symphonic effect going, different than if you recorded it on a computer track by track. They smush together in a lovely way. So you can record as many sounds on any track. I will start with guitar stereo in 1 and 2, drums stereo 3 and 4, bass in track 3 with drums, keyboard in tracks 1 and 2. The cool thing is, you can record a stereo guitar part, then go back and record a part on 1 and that comes out the left side, a part on 2 comes out the right side, and your first loop is in stereo in 1 and 2. |
Question: | Will the sim card store loops in the order of a set list |
Answer: | Each loop appears on the SD card as a numbered folder - the number corresponding to the loop number. By plugging the SD card into a PC, you can copy, rename and rearrange the loops/folders in any order you like. So the answer is "yes", if you don't mind getting your hands dirty. I copy the loops off the SD card to my PC and rename them "Lead Guitar Main" or "Lead Guitar Chorus". Later I can copy them back to the SD and call them "50" and "51". I use a spreadsheet to keep track of loop names. |
Question: | does this have all of the settings to create a comb filter |
Answer: | This is a digital delay pedal, not a filter. |
Question: | my setup is guitar>pedalboard>a/b/y switch>1 solid state amp & 1 tube amp. can i run this pedal through both amps' effects loops |
Answer: | Probably. I've never run it in stereo and none of my current amps have effects loops so I haven't done it, but I'm sure it's possible. If I'm thinking of this correctly, I think you'd run one of the stereo outs from the pedal to the Send on each amp, then the Returns from the amps could be connected to the pedal's input via a Y connector. I might have that backwards - it's been awhile since I used an effects loop. Either way, you'll likely need at least one Y connector, but it should work. Good luck! |
Question: | I'm looking for a looper for ambient music. Is this a great looper, like the Ditto X |
Answer: | It’ a great delay pedal, but not a great looper. Ditto X4 is a better looper. |
Question: | What power supply does this pedal use? The product description says it comes with a 24DC-100 adapter, but it seems to work on 9v |
Answer: | I bought this pedal a few months ago this year. It comes with a standard 9V power supply. I am sorry but I do not remember the current rating at the moment. But the one which came along with mine stopped working after a few days, maybe it was a bad piece. My bad luck probably. The pedal works great. You can use a Boss style standard 9V power supply or even better get a Visual Sound One Spot power supply combo pack. That'll solve most of your pedal power supply problems in general. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can it also be jsut powered by a 9 volt dc battery instead of using the ac power supply |
Answer: | no |
Question: | Can a solo player load backing tracks in mp3 or wav format on the sd? this is a feature of the jml2 from digitech, but not sure of the differences |
Answer: | Wav files, yes. Just follow the instructions carefully in the manual. You can also use your own beats as rhythm tracks. I test drove this feature at a gig recently - worked perfectly. Be careful to match your Wav file bpm to the same quarter-note signature as the pedal. |
Question: | can you switch loop tracks without the additional foot controller |
Answer: | The additional foot controller is optional, so technically you don't need it. It just makes life easier because you don't have to navigate 47 layers of menus using one button and a rotator knob every time you want to switch tracks. |
Question: | What kind of usb cable is best with the pedal & can i input any kind of file, wav, mp3, aiff, etc., into the pedal to be used as a loop |
Answer: | the usb has a specific kind of input, a certain size, should come with it. as far as file types I would say mp3 for sure, that should be in manual online. fun looper |
Question: | Would this be good for live looping complete songs? IE verse, chorus etc |
Answer: | This pedal is good for live looping complete songs, but keep in mind that there are only 2 loop channels in each bank, so you would have to 1) perform intros outros and bridges live 2) make the verse and chorus one measure longer and play intros/bridges every time or 3) pre record in 2 banks and switch banks mid song (this would require a short pause). In short, this works very well live, and if you press the button for loop b in sequential mode it will switch to loop b at the end of the current measure, but if you want to select when to play more than 2 sections of a song, the 4 channel 45000 looper might be more well suited (though, with an extra $200 price tag). Good luck and have fun. |
