11 best combo amps with reverbs
Combo amps with reverbs are a popular type of amplifier used by both guitarists and bassists. These combo amps are designed to provide both amplification and built-in reverb effects in a single unit. Here are some key points about combo amps with reverbs:
Amplification: Combo amps are self-contained amplification systems that include both the amplifier and the speaker(s) in one unit. They are convenient for musicians who want a compact and portable solution.
Reverb Effect: Reverb is an audio effect that simulates the sound of a space, adding a sense of depth and spaciousness to the sound. In combo amps with reverbs, this effect is built into the amplifier, allowing musicians to dial in varying amounts of reverb to enhance their tone.
Control Options: Combo amps with reverbs typically provide controls for adjusting the reverb effect, including parameters like reverb level, decay time, and sometimes even different reverb types (e.g., spring reverb or digital reverb). These controls allow musicians to customize their sound.
Guitar and Bass Compatibility: Combo amps with reverb are available for both guitar and bass players.Guitar combo amps often have additional features like overdrive or distortion channels, while bass combo amps are tailored for the lower frequencies produced by bass guitars.
Size and Portability: Combo amps come in various sizes, from small practice amps to larger stage-ready models. The choice of size depends on the musician's specific needs, such as portability for gigging or practice.
Reverb Types: Depending on the model and brand, combo amps may feature different types of reverb effects. Spring reverb is a classic choice, but digital reverb has become more common due to its versatility and ability to emulate various reverb environments.
Tonal Characteristics: The combination of the amplifier and reverb can significantly impact the overall tone of the instrument. Musicians often choose combo amps with reverbs that complement their playing style and genre preferences.
Brands and Models: Various companies manufacture combo amps with reverb, including Fender, Marshall, Vox, Peavey, and many others. Musicians can find a wide range of options to suit their budget and requirements.
Usage: Combo amps with reverbs are versatile and can be used for various musical styles and settings, from practice and small gigs to recording in the studio.
In summary, combo amps with reverbs are a convenient option for musicians looking for amplification with built-in reverb effects. They come in various sizes and are designed for both guitarists and bassists, offering control over reverb parameters to shape the desired sound. These amps are commonly used in a variety of musical contexts.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the Super Reverb have an effects loop |
Answer: | No, this amp does not have an effects loop. |
Question: | How does this amp compare with the Mustang modeling amps in terms of clean tone and overall value? I have a pedalboard for overdrive sounds |
Answer: | The Mustangs are a great value due to their wide variety of good-sounding amp models, on-board effects, and watts per dollar. Many players feel, however, that for a clean amp sound nothing beats a Fender classic tube reissue like the Deluxe. It's good with pedals too. Kind of pricey compared to the Mustangs, but for some "that sound" is where the value lies. |
Question: | Does the fender '65 twin reverb reissue actually contain two independent amplifiers ?? two completely independent sets of volume and tone controls |
Answer: | It is called a twin reverb because of the twin 12 inch speakers. Not the amplifier. The Deluxe Reverb only has 1 - 12" speaker. |
Question: | It's loud enough to a live gig |
Answer: | For jazz, it works fine but has limited headroom. It'll do loud, but not really loud clean. If that's a problem just mic it and it's fine in the PA. |

Question: | One more try, and please read the question. the bj models before the bj iv had horrible, non linear volume controls, is the iv fixed? is it linear |
Answer: | The iv fixed it. |
Question: | Where is this amp made - thanks |
Answer: | This amp sounds great even though it's made in Mexico. The speakers are Fender (Jensen) Made in USA. It's loud as hell. |
Question: | besides 4 the stock speaker does it have an extra speaker out 4 to make it a mini like stack |
Answer: | It has two speaker outs. The primary tap is at 8 ohms. When you plug into it and the second tap, the transformer's 4 ohm tap is used. This means you can either (1) run the amp alone on the internal 8 ohm speaker, or (2) run it with the internal speaker and an external 8 ohm running at the same time (in parallel), or (3) unplug the internal speaker and use the primary output to drive an 8-ohm external speaker cabinet, or finally (4) use both taps to drive two 8-ohm external speaker cabinets. I've done them all with my 2 14 year old Hot Rod Deluxes. |
Question: | Does it have a headphone jack |
Answer: | No this amp does not have a headphone jack. |

Get superior guitar tone and flexibility using this 15-Watt, 1x12 Guitar Combo Tube Amplifier with Celestion Speaker & Spring Reverb from Monoprice! As the title indicates, this guitar amplifier features a 15-watt tube power amplifier and a Celestion brand speaker. It uses three ECC83/12AX7 preamplification tubes and two EL84 power tubes for the amplifier section, plus a Celestion Red Truvox 1215 speaker. The EL84 tube is the tube that powered the Mullard amplifiers favored by the British Invasion bands of the 1960s. It can produce a full output from a relatively small signal and is therefore easily overdriven to produce that distinctive chiming, treble-heavy sound, especially when compared to the 6L6 tubes more commonly used in 1960s era American guitar amps. The amplifier handles frequencies between 80Hz and 10kHz, with hum and noise -75dB below the rated power and 0.5% total harmonic distortion. It includes a Low input and a High input, with the former attenuating the signal by approximately 50% and the latter being easier to overdrive. The cabinet is ported in the rear and features a leather handle, cloth speaker grill, and a cream-colored, textured, synthetic leather exterior with chrome corner guards. The amp features a genuine spring reverb with the ability to enable it remotely using a foot switch. It supports FX send and receive, so you can either connect it to an effects processor or use the send/receive connections as line out and line in connections. Two inputs allow you to select between the full power mode and a 1 watt limited amplification mode for recording or late night practice sessions.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this amp work for electric violin |
Answer: | Never tried it for electric violin, but I don't see where it won't work. I've used mine with my electric guitar, acoustic-electric guitar, electric ukulele, guitars with soundhole pickups, ukulele with bridge pickup, and several microphones. It's a very versatile amp. I've seen several bands using it. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Does it come with a foot switch? Is that something you use/need? Seems like that would be important |
Answer: | No. you will need to purchase the foot switch separately. I purchased the Boss F5-6 double foot switch and a stereo 1/4" cable. From here you can turn on and off the reverb and/or chorus. |

Answer: | It is a fabric grill standard on all Marshall amps. Thanks |

Question: | Can this be used with pedals |
Answer: | Yes, connect it to the INPUT jack. |
Question: | Can someone compare this flamma with blackstar fly 3? which is best sounding |
Answer: | After some tests and comparisons the fly 3 has more gain and a little more volume while the flamma has a more blues-like tone eith less gain but it has really good effects that I'd say make up for the gain. P.S. You could probably squeeze some more gain from the flamma with a pedal or certain pickups. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Anyone out there used this on an acoustic/electric? Opinions and thoughts welcome. Thanks |
Answer: | I use the Strumbuddy regularly on my Taylor 414CE. I use it playing in large rooms and cafeterias when playing guitar for kids. It’s been a great tool for me. Two things to keep in mind, 1. It has a difficult time staying on my guitar, and 2. It works much better if you have volume control on the acoustic electric. Overall, it’s a great, reasonably priced solution for battery operated amplification. |
Question: | Will there be strum buddy for bass guitars |
Answer: | I don’t know but when I bought mine I contacted the company and they did say they are looking at more to come beyond the first two versions. I hardly ever use my amp anymore. It is a great device but the guitar version would not sound very bassy. Shoot the an email and see if anything is in the pipeline. You would think by using woofer technology they could create a version. 😁 |
Question: | I have an old, expensive, electric guitar, will this mess up the finish? I can't imagine that a suction cup is good for it. Thank you |
Answer: | I've used it on my 1966 345 Gibson which has a lot of checking (craquelure) on the finish and it hasn't hurt it. The suction isn't that strong. |
Question: | the vid shows guy jammin to track. does this play mp3s or were the drums in the vid pretend |
Answer: | This is a little amplifier. You plug yr guitar in and play that’s it! Sounds |

User questions & answers
Question: | Any chance this would fit a 8-inch Epiphone amplifier which I purchased with my guitar as a set |
Answer: | Depends on the dimensions of the amp you have- You mention an amp with an 8” speaker- most likely it would cover it, but be baggy all around- again I would just double check the dimensions of your amp to make sure. You may also find a cover that would fit your amp on reverb.com |
Question: | Is this cover at least a little padded or is it not padded at all, like to protect the amp from impacts |
Answer: | Thick material, but no padding sewed in. Will protect amp from objects gauging the amp's covering (nice snug fit too), but not absorb much impact. I have had many amps with these Fender covers and never ripped one . . very tough. There is a company that makes a heavily padded, looser fitting one, but I can't remember the brand. |
Question: | what is the inside depth measurement, will it stretch to fit |
Answer: | The inside depth is 9.5". It fits over my Deluxe Reverb with a little bit of wiggle room so it's easy to take on and off, but I don't think it would accommodate an amp with a depth of 11". |
Question: | Will this fit a vintage 65 deluxe reverb |
Answer: | Yes, the cover fits very well and I love my ‘65 deluxe reverb! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I plug in my acoustic electric guitar to get distortion effects, like crunch etc, or does that work only with electric guitars |
Answer: | Hi there. The answer is yes. Since to guitar is using a some type of pickup system which require a battery/s the Yamaha amp will work. I have done the same thing using an electro-acoustic guitar. Remember though the degree of church and or distortion is determined by two things. The type of pickups being used and the GAIN setting on both the guitar and amplifier. This will take a bit of experimenting before you find the kind of sound you're looking for. Good luck. SMINC |
Question: | What is the batrery life like on the thr |
Answer: | 8 Duracell AA batteries 2500mah enough for 10-12 hours of playing |
Question: | Is 2 small speakers superior to one larger? Thanku |
Answer: | That would depend on THE VENUE and what is REQUIRED... |
Question: | Is this plug in and batteries |
Answer: | It runs from batteries, but very power hungry. The mains DC adaptor is unique to Yamaha and the charge over £40 for it. My suggestion. Avoid this product and buy a small VOX battery amp like the VOX mini 3, better sound and lasts all day on one set of better use also has mains adaptor. Hope this helps people. |
