6 best picture dvds

Picture DVDs, often associated with Christmas, movies, and TV, are physical discs that contain visual content such as movies, television shows, or other video-related material. These DVDs are designed to be played on DVD players or compatible devices to watch the content they contain. Here are some key points related to picture DVDs in the context of Christmas, movies, and TV:

  1. Christmas Movies: Picture DVDs are commonly used to distribute and watch Christmas-themed movies and TV specials. These DVDs often feature classic holiday films like "It's a Wonderful Life," "A Christmas Carol," or newer releases like "Elf" or "Home Alone." They are a popular choice for families to enjoy during the festive season.

  2. TV Show Box Sets: Picture DVDs are also used to release complete seasons or series of television shows. Fans of TV series, including those related to Christmas, can purchase box sets that contain all the episodes from a particular season or the entire series. This allows viewers to binge-watch their favorite shows.

  3. Special Features: Many picture DVDs come with bonus features, such as behind-the-scenes footage, director's commentary, deleted scenes, and interviews with the cast and crew. These extras enhance the viewing experience and provide insights into the making of the content.

  4. Collector's Editions: Some picture DVDs are released as collector's editions, featuring exclusive packaging, art prints, or memorabilia related to the movie or TV show. These editions are often sought after by dedicated fans and collectors.

  5. Holiday Specials: Christmas-themed TV specials, like animated classics such as "A Charlie Brown Christmas" or "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," are commonly released on picture DVDs. These DVDs allow viewers to relive the magic of these timeless holiday programs.

  6. Gift Giving: Picture DVDs make for popular gifts during the holiday season. They are a thoughtful present for movie enthusiasts or fans of specific TV shows, allowing them to enjoy their favorite content at their convenience.

  7. Digital Alternatives: While picture DVDs remain a popular choice for physical media enthusiasts, digital streaming services have become increasingly popular for accessing movies and TV shows. Many people now prefer to stream content online instead of purchasing physical discs.

In summary, picture DVDs are a common medium for distributing and enjoying Christmas-themed movies, TV shows, and other visual content. They offer a tangible and often collectible way to watch beloved films and series during the holiday season and beyond.

From the Manufacturer

The Verbatim AZO recording layer gives our DVD media the competitive advantage-the patented coating delivers protection that lasts generations and provides ultimate resistance to UV light damage. That's why Verbatim's been recognized as the No. 1 Optical Brand in the World*--we consistently provide optical media of the highest quality and compatibility. When drive manufacturers test their products for maximum performance, they use Verbatim--so why wouldn't you?

Mitsubishi Kagaku Media (MKM), Verbatim's parent company in Japan, brings extensive technological research and development to the table. Core technologies, like the AZO recording layer give Verbatim an offering like no other optical manufacturer. This unique and ultra-stable layer strongly resists UV light, withstands high laser and rotation speeds on newer drives and ensures compatibility with current DVD standards.

Verbatim's AZO recording layer not only withstands the extremely high laser and rotation speeds of newer drives, it also maximizes their performance. Verbatim paid particular attention to the durability and light fastness of AZO; tests show that it is more stable than most recording dyes and the least affected by ultraviolet light.

AZO also offers high sensitivity for reliable high-speed recording and high reflectivity to eliminate read errors. The thinness of the recording layer is also critical. The thinner the layer, the higher the sensitivity and power margin; therefore, the better the DVD works for high-speed recording.

What does all this mean for you? Verbatim AZO technology translates into optical products that cost just a little more but are worth the slight difference. They are products you want-offering reliability, high read and write performance, high-quality photos and sound and superior archival protection that lasts.

User questions & answers

Question: Do these Dvd's each have their separate case
Answer: Absolutley not. It's just as it looks in the picture. That is, it's in a stack in one container. Jewel cases are so expensive. No DVDs or CDs that come in quantity that I know of come in individual cases.
Question: What do the letters -R, +R, -RW and +RW mean
Answer: As I understand it The only difference between Dvd-R and Dvd+R Is the how the laser burns the data DVD-RW Means you can burn and erase multiple times
Question: Can I write information on the disc directly or do I need or do I lables
Answer: I've written on my discs with a regular Sharpe for many years (over 20) and even the oldest discs are fine. No problem at all. I have about 3,000 discs made over the last two decades and have never found a single problem with any of them so I would say, go ahead and just a Sharpie.
Question: What is the Version number of this disk? Verbatim 4.7 gb 16 x speed
Answer: For the price, it is the best you can buy. I try to get Verbatim DVD-R because on my HP desktop computer and the video software I use, it is the best. I does not matter the version number of this disk. What matters is that it is 4.7 Gb with a speed of 16. You will be able to record movies, photographs, music and much more. When formatted, you get about 4.1 Gb which is about 30 minutes of HD.

Why Verbatim

Verbatim has been trusted for over 50 years to provide reliable and affordable data storage products and is the leading brand of optical media sold today.

Verbatim prides itself on producing optical media compatible with more drive manufacturers than any other brand in the world, giving our customers better disc burns at rated drive speeds.

Backup v. Archive

The difference between backing-up your data and archiving your data is subtle, but important. Backing-up data is usually done on a daily or weekly basis, to account for any edits or additions you have made. Archiving is a more permanent solution – ideally, you archive data a few times a year and it remains safe for years to come.

Optical media is the ideal media for archiving. It is durable enough to last for years and takes up less physical storage space. The random access file retrieval makes finding data faster and easier. And with better backwards compatibility, data stored on optical media can be accessed for many years to come.

Government/Official Agencies

  • Find specific records quickly and easily
  • Read-only discs prevent data from being altered or stolen
  • Store records locally or offsite, with low cost of ownership, and a small storage footprint

Medical Institutions

  • Securely store patients records and files while maintaining quick access
  • Long term solution perfect for compliance archival requirements
  • Ideal for x-rays, MRI records and other detailed imagery

Businesses/Financial Institutions

  • Data is stored off-network and out of reach of data attacks
  • Maintain access to files for years to come with exceptional forward and backward compatibility

Individuals

  • Keep your important files safe and away from attackers
  • Optical discs are extremely affordable and take up less physical space than other data storage devices

Ultra-Stable

Verbatim’s AZO recording layer is a unique and ultra-stable layer with a high resistance to UV light degradation while withstanding high laser and rotation speeds. Verbatim’s particular attention to the durability and light fastness of AZO makes it more stable than most recording dyes and the least affected by ultraviolet light.

High Sensitivity

AZO also offers high sensitivity for reliable high-speed recording and high reflectivity to eliminate read/write errors. The depth of the recording layer is also critical. The thinner the layer, the higher the sensitivity and power margin; therefore, the better the DVD works for high-speed recording.

High Quality

No interruptions on backups, production jobs or downloads! Verbatim’s AZO technology creates optical discs with one of the lowest error rates, offering reliability, maximum read and write performance, and superior archival protection that lasts.

Product description

Fasten your garter belt and time warp again with The Rocky Horror Picture Show! When this cinematic sensation first sashayed onto the screen, moviegoers were treated to a gender-bending horror story/musical romantic comedy, and it remains one of the cinema's most enduring cult classics. Based on the musical by Richard O'Brien (who also plays Riff Raff and who co-wrote the screenplay with Jim Sharman, who directed), the film follows a newly engaged young couple, Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon), through the most unforgettable night of their lives. After their car gets a flat tire during a torrential rainstorm, Brad and Janet walk to a creepy castle, hoping to phone for help. But things take a turn for the outrageous when they meet the master of the castle – transvestite inventor Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry, recreating his stage role). Not only is the "doctor" hosting an entourage of aliens, he has brought a spectacularly muscular man (Peter Hinwood) to life. As Brad and Janet engage in some unexpected debauchery of their own in Frank's castle, they also witness shocking crimes! Also starring Meatloaf, Patricia Quinn, Little Nell, Jonathan Adams and Charles Gray, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a hilarious, campy romp filled with song-and-dance numbers – and enough horror to thrill you, chill you and fulfill you from start to finish.
