Answer:	I don't know what TV freeview is. This device is a one time payment. You buy the hardware and that is it. You DO need an antenna to go with this. You can't just buy this and plug it in to your laptop and get TV, this device allows you to plug an antenna into your laptop. This device plus an antenna gives you the ability to access TV that is broadcast over the air by your local TV stations. There is no monthly charge for this service. There isn't even a premium version you could pay for if you wanted to. The service has always been free, is free and hopefully will stay that way. The antenna you buy is critical to how many stations you will get. I have lived in 4 different places while using this HP ExpressCard TV Tuner and have used a different antenna with the card in each place to get the best reception possible. The place I am currently living is the first time I have had an outdoor antenna. It is the Channel Master CM3016 and has been great for us. For indoor antennas I have had good luck with Winegard FreeVision FV-30BB HDTV Antenna.

Answer:	Yes. I have it running in my Thinkpad by using the Hauppauge Drivers and WinTV 7 software. It did not like WinTV 8 for some reason; I had to get the right version for it to play nice, but after many hours of software re-installs, it works great. (The Hauppauge CD comes with a tool to remove all previous installs of their stuff so that helps a lot at avoiding conflicts.)
