User questions & answers

Question: is the frame made of aluminum
Answer: largest seat
Question: Are the wheels rubber or plastic, what does the chair weigh is it easy for a elderly person to maneuver themselves and does it fold up easily
Answer: This chair is good. Light weight for me to pick up and put in the car, easy to push, but it is made for a person up to 350 lbs ao it has a wide seat. You might want something smaller.
Question: Does it have a tilt bar in back to help the person pushing tip up the front wheels for going over bumps
Answer: Don't know about returning it but its a great chair and so easy to get in and out of the car. Soooo much better than a wheel chair.
Question: how much does it weight
Answer: I bought it for my 80-year-old aunt on the premise that it was about 15 pounds. I did not weigh it myself but I did have occasion to put it in my SUV about ten times in one day when I went to visit her. I am 66 and had no problem with it. I will say that she is the youngest of her friends who are transporting her around while her broken left foot and right ankle heal. She's says they are able to lift it quite well and, of course, my aunt is thrilled to be able to continue going out with the girls. I also bought this chair for another 70ish gal so that she can transport her 94-year-old mom. She is so happy to have the transport chair as it is much lighter than her mother's walker. Being able to push her mother in and out of stores and doctor's appointments is so much faster and safer than the walker--especially when the weather is bad. I hope this has been helpful!

User questions & answers

Question: is this a folding wheelchair
Answer: Yes it does folds in half. Very comfortable chair. Spent 12 house a day in chair during vacation held up well. Hope that helps.
Question: seat chair -what is the measurement from outside wheel to outside wheel? Product info shows dimensions 31 x 28.5 x 36.5 which #is wheel to wheel
Answer: I measured the “wheel to wheel” as 27 inches. That’s from the outer most rollbar to the other outer most roll bar. I have the 18 inch across seat not the wide one that’s 20 inches . Seat depth is 15 1/2 inches . The height from the floor to the seat is 20 inches. My chair is from the front of the seat to the back of the wheel 27 1/2 inches. And the back of the chair from floor to the top of the handlebars are 36 inches. I don’t have the swing away leg rests. I have no use for them since I am a double above knee amputee. I hope this helps.
Question: Can the wc be adjusted to a hemi height to allow someone to propel with their feet
Answer: Durable tig-welded frame in gray powder coat finish.Comfortable nylon upholstery.Smooth-rolling, solid flat-free tires.Dual axle hemi-height adjustable.Hemi-height adjustable axles raise/lower seat 2" (5.08cm)Available with desk length removable or full length permanent arm styles.Available with detachable legrest or detachable elevating legrest.
Question: will a 220lb but extra wide hip 33 inches (side to side) fit the wheelchair seat
Answer: My aunt had a very big butt and we had to return the Medline chair we purchased because it wouldn't fit in the chair without her forcing it in. Then it was very difficult to get her up and out of it because her butt got smashed into the space between the seat and the side of the chair. She said she had pinch marks on her butt--I took her word for it. We found an Invacare wheelchair that was made for people with big butts and it worked fine. We called it the Kim Kardashian model---HA HA!
