Step 1: Locate wall studs where you want to install the bath/shower safety handle;

Answer:	This can easily be solved by using a cap from a shaving cream can - Edge Gel. It happens to be the right height. I fill the reservoir, place the cap against it and the weight of the water keeps everything in place. Problem solved. The hinges are plastic so over time, they get work by movement. I've had mine for about 4 or 5 years a least. The last two I've been sticking the cap on the back. Yes - it's a hack but it works. And doesn't cost a thing.

Answer:	It’ll initially suction but it won’t last since any wood is porous even if it’s finished or varnished. You can only use this bar for assist or balance. There’s a warning not to use it to pull one’s self up from the tub. That’s dangerous.

Answer:	This will work like all suction cups. If the surface is not flat, smooth & clean, the suction cup will not be able to create the vacuum it needs to maintain a solid grip to the surface. Answer:	Hi Martin, in my case, I needed the bar mounted horizontally, so if my hand slipped at one point, I could slide it on across the bar. The best answer is to decide which works best for you. Even an angle mount is popular in some applications. Mine also doubles as a towel bar, so I mounted it horizontally. Now, structurally, it's going to be the same...find the stud...and if needed, use the mounting kit..(priced separately, but worth it.) Hope this helps!

Answer:	Thats what I have and it works fine. Just don't over-tighten or you can crack the tub. Might consider putting a piece of drawer liner rubber between the tub and the grab bars to keep it from slipping and without over-tightening.

Question:	Does this bar have rubber grips on the inside such as the Grabcessories products
Answer:	I have not installed mine yet, as we are trying to figure out the best way possible to install on ceramic tile. The studs are hard to find. I have discovered that there is a product that is made to install grab bars with no studs. it is called Winglts grab bar fasteners. I found them at Home Depot. Will most likely try these.
Question:	What is the outside distance between the mounting plates
Answer:	It comes with strong screws that they say should be mounted on 2 studs diagonally between the two studs that are normally 16" apart. You could probably mount it with different anchors, but that would be your choice.
Question:	What is the load rating on these bars
Answer:	Hello and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The Moen R8732P Home Care Bathroom Safety 32” Grab Bar with Concealed Screws, Peened will need a 1/8” diameter pilot hole when mounting into hard wood. You would need a 5/16” pilot hole going into tile to a wood stud. If there is no stud behind your tile, you will need to use the SecureMount Anchors and follow those instructions. Securemount Anchors (SMA1000CH) are used in non-stud (hollow-Wall) applications and support up to 300 lbs. and requires a ½” of open space behind the mounting surface. Answer:	A peened surface is bubbled to provide more gripping. It is far better than the more slippery smooth surface. I would highly recommend it.

Answer:	I have two of these installed in my Shower. I have a 24 inch one attached vertically on the back of my Shower close to where You would stand near the Shower head. Then, I have one 12 inch (as you show here) attached Vertically on the back of the shower where You would be exiting after the shower. I am a Senior Citizen and I don't want to Fall and it makes me feel much safer with both of these Mounts. I have the white ones like your attachment and they are Excellent. Question:	Hello are the moen r2356dn grab bars genuine moen grab bars? i see them at other stores with the model number as lr2356dn. what is the difference
Answer:	Relying on any kind of safety bar that's not been securely mounted to wall framing is a hospital visit waiting to happen. The force of an adult in a falling situation would easily pull most hollow wall anchors right through the drywall.
Question:	How can I buy a replacement tray
Answer:	Measure the width of the area where you will install the rod. Allow a few extra inches, as the rings around the bar brackets are about 3" across (see picture). The bar is not a narrow one. It is about 4" around - nice and sturdy. I used two different sizes in my shower for support & safety. I had them installed by my contractor, who drilled extra long screws into the 2 x 4's - I can trust them to hold me up in the shower if needed. Very good quality. Hope this helps.
