When we use the handheld refractometer （0-32 % brix ）, we found that our vision was blurred because there were more mixtures in the kombucha. Then we tested it with a digital refractometer （0-50 % brix）, and the result was the same as that of the handheld refractometer, which was about 4.1%brix. If you want to know the quality of kombucha, you can use the mixture index to see the result because the kombucha is a mixture liquid, such as specific gravity, density, %brix. You can use the %brix as an indicator of the quality of kombucha. However, with a handheld refractometer, it's not easy to see the results. Any questions, Please let us know.
