I looked around for those & couldn't find them, but found 10A 250V and these worked OK. Answer:	plug the red lead into the meter socket marked COM and the black into the center meter socket. Set the dial to V~ (for AC volts) on the 200 scale (for household current) insert one probe lead into each of the wall socket's vertical slots and move them around a bit inside the outlet slots to make sure you're getting a good connection, if in doubt plug a lamp or something into the socket. If you suspect the outlet socket itself has failed carefully remove the wall plate in order to access the actual wires connected to the outlet to be sure it's either a dead circuit or the outlet itself has failed.

Answer:	If you really need to measure extremely low resistances accurately, you can get a power supply that you can set for a constant current of 1A, and put it through your test load. Then put your meter in the DC millivolt range and read across the load. It will display the resistance in millohms, so a reading of 100 mV would correspond to 0.1 ohms. Few people need to measure such small resistance values, but some specialized things like coils and inductors have test specifications down in those ranges.
Question:	Help. i have a short or bad ground somewhere in my automobile, battery and alt new - i think wires going to the pcm. will this help identify? thanks
Answer:	This is called a parasitic draw and a multi step process can isolate it down to a single component. You start with checking the draw on the battery. Remove the negative terminal and set the meter to 10 AMPS with the black lead plugged into the the COM connector female on the bottom and the red plugged into 10 amp female on the far left. Clamp the black lead to the negative battery cable connector that you removed and touch the red lead to the negative terminal. If you get a reading higher than a quarter of an amp you the battery is discharging and depending on the draw it will run down over night. A tip: Make sure everything is off in the car by closing the doors and removing the bulb from courtesy engine compartment light. If the bulb is inaccessible just duct tape the switch down. Also if you entered the car to pop the hood you should wait for the computer to go back to sleep - about 20 minutes - before running the test. If there is a draw you should start isolation by pulling fuses - when you pull the right fuse the reading will drop to 1/4 amp or so. The fuse fronts a wiring harness bundle and you can see what circuits it is protecting on a schematic - first thing to check are switches on the bundle and any after market additions to the harness. Most times it will be an open switch but a poor installation of additional lights or accessories is also a high suspect spot for a short. If a switch replace it or even just open it (turn it off). If a short you need to isolate the individual circuit on the harness bundle. Short isolation is a difficult time consuming task and rather than describe it I recommend that you watch this video on YOUTUBE. It is the best I have found for going all the way to the source of a short. Second tip is to have a helper with the fuse pulling and remember that some vehicles have 2 or 3 fuse boxes. Question:	I will be using this meter once a month. Do I need storage solution for the probe
Answer:	Storing the probe in the storage solution helps keep the probe's sensitivity and accuracy. So it's a recommended practice. While storing the probe without any solution will not damage the probe, it's just going to cause the probe to lose its sensitivity and accuracy temporarily. Store the probe in the storage solution again for about 10 minutes, the sensitivity and accuracy can be restored.
Question:	Can anyone confirm if this comes pre calibrated
Answer:	The tester has been calibrated before they went out of the factory. But since there is a time gap before they reach our customers, we recommend doing the calibration with the included premixed buffer solutions before your first use.Thanks for your interest!
Question:	Can this be used to analyze urine
Answer:	Yes, it can tests urine with no problem. You can use the probe cap as a container for the urine.
Question:	How often does this pH meter need to be re-calibrated and/or how can I tell when it needs to be re-calibrated
Answer:	The manufacturer recommends keeping the device probe in a neutral storage solution; the protective tip case/container actually has a 'fill' line for guidance, and it is designed to hold a liquid safely when stored as indicated -- If someone uses distilled or deionized water by itself as a storage solution, the salts contained in the probe tip will dissipate and the probe will then need to be replaced--about $25, plus a fine headache trying to get it right. If you are out of storage solution keeping the probe wet somehow is better than dry--but don't store without the specialized solution for more than a day or so; these are typically $10-$13 for 100ml - 250ml size bottles on Amazon.

Answer:	Yes . This is one of the intended uses :) Just please note it's for TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), not for pH. In hydroponics applications, a ppm meter such as this one is used to determine your nutrient count.

This TDS meter is pre-calibrated in factory, no need calibrate again by customer, we do this to prevent as many calibration related mistakes as possible, and it's easier to use. To maintain the accuracy, it's better to rinse the probe with distilled water after each use. For your mentioned distilled water, it should read 0 ppm theoretically, but in actual application, if you can't keep test condition very clean, it may read 0-2ppm usually.

Answer:	Sounds like what you need is a Kill-A-Watt meter (brand name). You plug the meter in the wall then plug the appliance in the meter. Real simple. Gives amps, watts, volts, etc.
Question:	Can the clamp measure voltage without load
Answer:	The clamp (non-contact) can only measure current (amperage), not voltage. To measure voltage, you'd need to use the probes on a physical connection (terminal or bare wire).
Question:	I am working on a light fixture - if I want to test the actual wires (and not outlet) to see if they're live, what setting would I need to do this on
Answer:	Nobody else said it, but if you use the clamp meter, it must be around a SINGLE wire, it will not work if you clamp around both wires of the cable. You must separate the wires, and clamp only one wire. And the clamp is only gonna measure current, so if the lamp isn't working, this probably won't work. If the plag is plugged-in though, there will be a voltage present, so a non contact voltage tester should be sufficient enough to tell you it's live. Please be careful.
