Answer:	Yes! I recently calibrated with 7.0. Prior to calibration, it read the 7.0 solution at 7.0, calibrated with 7.0 solution it now reads 7.18. Find the correct calibration solution

Calibration of the pH meter

1, the calibration powder with 250ml of distilled water or pure water to open. Dip the pH electrode into a mixed phosphate standard buffer at pH 6.86 and shake gently.

2, push the CAL button,it will auto calibration until the displayed value and the standard buffer solution at pH 6.9 consistent with the ambient temperature.

3, the same as above, the electrode was inserted into pH4.01 Phosphorous stupid acid potassium bicarbonate standard buffer solution.

4, about two minutes or so. The displayed value should be within the error tolerance compared to the pH value of the buffer solution.

Answer:	The soil ph value on the meter dial ranges from 1 to 10 (1-3 dry, 4-7 normal, 8-10 wet). If your plant is very dry, the pointer of the soil meter will not swing or swing slightly. Take ph 9.18 standard solution as an example:

• Power on → Adjust to pH mode (Press the MODE/CAL button)
• Put the electrode into pH 9.18 standard solution, then wait for the readings to stabilize (usually 5~10 Seconds)
• Press and hold the MODE/CAL button and release after 6 seconds → until the readings of pH9.18 is no longer flashing, and the calibration of pH9.18 is completed.

Question:	Can I use this ppm meter for hydroponics
Answer:	Yes . This is one of the intended uses :) Just please note it's for TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), not for pH. In hydroponics applications, a ppm meter such as this one is used to determine your nutrient count.
Question:	how can i test if the unit is accurate could i use distilled which i assume should be zero, thanks tom
Answer:	Thanks for your question. This TDS meter is pre-calibrated in factory, no need calibrate again by customer, we do this to prevent as many calibration related mistakes as possible, and it's easier to use. To maintain the accuracy, it's better to rinse the probe with distilled water after each use. For your mentioned distilled water, it should read 0 ppm theoretically, but in actual application, if you can't keep test condition very clean, it may read 0-2ppm usually.
Question:	Can this also check for ph
Answer:	It Does not. It measure TDS , EC and Temperature 3 in 1. PH Meter is another tester.
Question:	What kind of battery does it have

Question:	Is ph meter only good to measure ph of water or can it be used to measure other fluids? soft drinks, coffee, etc
Answer:	Hi, It seems to me that titrimetry may be more suitable for testing their ph. Since PH meter is only testing the liquid's PH, doesn't suit for testing the ph of solid state and gas. Since soaps is solid state, if we do the liquid sample of soaps, the ph value won't be the same as before, since pH=-lgCH+, the CH+ in formula is the concentration of hydrogen ions in solution. For testing the ph of cleansers and other skincare products, if they are fluid, this ph meter can read their ph value. If not, that would be no longer be suitable.
Question:	How to calibrate the tds
Answer:	Is this a question or a statement? Realize first that this is an entry level type of pH reader... not exactly scientific quality. You also need to calibrate it in EACH solution ( with distilled water)... in other words, make three separate solutions, in three separate cups (again.. with distilled water, and also with the right amount of water), and then calibrate it to each mixture. If it still does not read correctly... send it back. Think smarter, not harder.
Question:	What calibration solution should be used for calibrating these
Answer:	First you have to calibrate it to be sure you're getting accurate readings. Mix the packets that came with the meter each in 250ml of DISTILLED WATER. You can use a clean glass once you have solutions (for example 4.0): Turn on the meter insert it into the 4.0 solution HOLD IT STILL AND WAIT FOR THE READING TO STABALIZE(usually 10~15 seconds, meaning the reading might still change a little but it slows down and hovers around a certain value. ) THEN press and hold the MODEL/CAL button for 6 seconds, The value of pH4.0 is no longer flashing, and the calibration of pH4.0 is completed. If you want to continue calibration with another solution, clean the probe in Distilled water and repeat this process for 6.86 and 9.18 solutions.
Question:	My tds&ec meter, came without batteries, the instructions do not say what size battery or how to install
