Question:	I will be using this meter once a month. Do I need storage solution for the probe
Answer:	Storing the probe in the storage solution helps keep the probe's sensitivity and accuracy. So it's a recommended practice. While storing the probe without any solution will not damage the probe, it's just going to cause the probe to lose its sensitivity and accuracy temporarily. Store the probe in the storage solution again for about 10 minutes, the sensitivity and accuracy can be restored.
Question:	Can anyone confirm if this comes pre calibrated
Answer:	The tester has been calibrated before they went out of the factory. But since there is a time gap before they reach our customers, we recommend doing the calibration with the included premixed buffer solutions before your first use.Thanks for your interest!

Answer:	Yes, it can tests urine with no problem. You can use the probe cap as a container for the urine.
Question:	How often does this pH meter need to be re-calibrated and/or how can I tell when it needs to be re-calibrated
Answer:	The manufacturer recommends keeping the device probe in a neutral storage solution; the protective tip case/container actually has a 'fill' line for guidance, and it is designed to hold a liquid safely when stored as indicated -- If someone uses distilled or deionized water by itself as a storage solution, the salts contained in the probe tip will dissipate and the probe will then need to be replaced--about $25, plus a fine headache trying to get it right. If you are out of storage solution keeping the probe wet somehow is better than dry--but don't store without the specialized solution for more than a day or so; these are typically $10-$13 for 100ml - 250ml size bottles on Amazon.

Calibration powder: pH standard solid substance. It can be used after adding water. Suitable for the calibration of any type of ph meter. Each package can prepare 250ML standard solution.

Matters needing attention:

PH meter has been calibrated before delivery, the buyer does not need to re-calibrate after receiving the goods!

In the following cases, the PH meter must be re-calibrated:

Answer:	it's a general purpose ph meter and would suffice for most typical purposes. you can test any liquid or similar that you can dip it into. if you want something that's lab grade I mean common sense is pay more for a better one. so the question is do you have a requirement for something that may be better, or will this do for you at a pretty cheap price see less

Answer:	No, Don't put into the water, because there is a battery cover, it's not waterproof, and the water level should not be immersed in the immersion line during the test.

Answer:	Yes!!!! this works perfect as long as you have a circulating pump that is continuously mixing the water in your reservoir This way you’re guaranteed to keep the ph exactly where you want it.

Answer:	It’s not programmable. If the ph is above or below the set point, the pump runs until it is not. Meaning, you need to be able to circulate the tank, and you will need to mess with your acid/base solution strength. But you can achieve what you are asking with experimentation.

Question:	Is there a pad in the cap that absorbs elcteode storage solution
Answer:	Yes there is a small piece of sponge material in the cap that you can apply storage solution whenever you plan to leave the cap on. I recommend that if you will be using your pen daily, you get a small glass cup ( the 100ml measuring cups work ideal) and keep storage solution in this cup and keep pen placed in this as opposed to removing and replacing cap continuously. I generally mix 20ml of storage solution with 30ml of distilled water to keep in cup for pen.
Question:	Does this pen really have to be calibrated
Answer:	These are great pens for the hobbyist just remember when you do not see the check mark on your pH pen or on your PPM EC conductivity bluelab pen it is time to calibrate if you do not see this check mark displayed on either pin on the screen calibrate. I also recommend using the 7.0 bluelab calibration solution followed up by the 4.0 bluelab calibration solution to get a more accurate reading of the pH solution. Also use blue lab calibration solution for your conductivity meter as well these meters will last a very long time I had mine for almost 4 years and still in good shape keep your meters clean keep your pH bulb moist in store in the pH storage solution that is made by blue lab. Never let the bulb go dry if you do it will take 24 hours or it is good to give 24 hours to rehydrate your pH bulb. And if I'm not mistaken on the bottles the calibration solution of either your conductivity meter solution for calibration or your pH pen calibration solution it says on the bottle after opening don't use after three months I don't know if this matters a whole lot or not but I've used my solution over three months plenty of time and no noticeable difference in this. I guess the main thing is to keep your pH pen glass bulb hydrated I believe that this is probably the most important thing when owning a blue lab pH testing pin. If there is anyone to add to this conversation or to give me any advice that's positive please do so I am always willing to learn and listen so please if anyone has any experience with these pins other than me and something that I may not have mentioned or know please tell me or leave a review thank you I hope this has been helpful. Question:	How often do users have to calibrate this meter and how accurate is it
Answer:	This meter is set up to tell you its time to recalibrate. In the bottom right corner there will be a pH symbol with a check mark beside it. about every 5-6 weeks (I think) The check mark will disappear (this may vary with usage) that means its time to recalibrate. You have to look for it but you get used to it. If you are late noticing this, it wont hurt as long as you don't wait for months on months without calibrating. This pen holds its calibration well. But it does best when you keep it in the storage solution that is made for it by Bluelab. I prefer this pen over all others of similar price. I have found it to be very dependable.

Answer:	I don't have this meter, but, if 32° fahrenheit/0° Celsius is freezing, than -3°C is about 26°F. Which is pretty close to what you are seeing. How long did you leave the meter on the solution? Inexpensive meters can be slow to stabilize on temp readings.

Calibration of the pH meter

1, the calibration powder with 250ml of distilled water or pure water to open. Dip the pH electrode into a mixed phosphate standard buffer at pH 6.86 and shake gently.

2, push the CAL button,it will auto calibration until the displayed value and the standard buffer solution at pH 6.9 consistent with the ambient temperature.

3, the same as above, the electrode was inserted into pH4.01 Phosphorous stupid acid potassium bicarbonate standard buffer solution.

4, about two minutes or so. The displayed value should be within the error tolerance compared to the pH value of the buffer solution.

Question:	Can this tester be used to test ph for medical / intravenous solutions? i am looking for something that is accurate to ~0.1ph. any experience
Answer:	It does measure to the tenth (0.0). The other Apera model PC60, measures to the hundredth (0.00). I use the PH20 and noticed when making changes to your solution, change down reads fairly quickly. Changes to raise PH reads more slowly, so give it a few minutes to stabilize the reading. Also I use the 7.0 calibration fluid in the cap when storing between uses. Helps notice if recalibration is needed. Always rinse and dry probe before storing or testing.
Question:	Anybody had success using this for fermentation? I'm hoping to find one that's easy to use/store that I can use for fermenting hot sauces, etc
Answer:	I use mine specifically for Horticulture and I have zero experience in fermentation; that said, I believe this will still be a great tool for your purposes.

Answer:	The base pen comes with enough solution to last at least a year of biweekly checking/ calibrating. The full kit comes with big bottles of all 3 ph ranges and a storage solution. I havnt even had to open my large bottles. But I plan to next month just to exchange my small bottles (I've used for almost a year now) I have maybe had to calibrate 2 times and that was just to be safe. My water stays the same so I know what it is before and after my nutrient feeds so if it ever reads off, I just check it on a solution for the proper readout.
Question:	When calibrating, should i wait until the pen reaches the ph the solution should be before i go to the next step. or when the smiley face pops up
Answer:	Smiley face. That said, when taking readings, even in the calibration solution, remember to swirl the meter in the solution with some briskness. I found that my pH pen continues to walk down or walk up almost a half a PH point just from swirling it in the solution.
