Answer: As others have have stated it really depends on a lot of things, this is however more of a face mill it's not intended to take deep fast cuts, if you need to go deep use a conventional roughing end mill and use this for your final passes to get a nice clean finish. I've used mine on titanium and 7075 aluminum and it has produced a very nice smooth finish on the material.

Answer: Look up ‘speeds and feeds’. Google that phrase, you’ll find what you need. Varies greatly with what you’re cutting, depth of cut, lubrication, rigidity of machine and workholding.

Answer: Sorry, I cannot find my .75 mill right now. However, it doesn't really matter. The grooves will cause the cut material to be a little oversize because it will not be removed between the points. But not nearly as much oversize as the groove depth, because the points and grooves on each flute do not align with the other flutes. In other words, what one flute doesn't remove, another will, so the finish will be a lot smoother than the screw-like threads of the tool. If you want more removed than that, you will need to measure your part and make another cutting pass with either the same roughing mill or a plain finish mill. On parts I have made, I purposely left the ripple finish from the roughing mill because I think it is pretty.

I have sharpened the HSS cutters to the proper angles and this will easily cut cast iron. Cast iron machines easily due to its molecular makeup. You can use cutting oil but none is needed. I have had no trouble machining cast iron with these cutters. Go make some chips.

Answer: That's exactly what I used this set for my 80% arms lower receiver. Completed it last week with a Deltron upper and tested it at the range yesterday. Take your time and go slow and it will produce a quality part. Predrill holes with a drill bit. I did the whole process using these to finish with.

Answer: Two or three flute center cutting end mill most 4 flute are not center cutting and will go a horrible job. Two flute end mills in very sharp condition best done on a larger heavy duty drill press 12 inches or more swing. The Quill arbor and bearings need to be tight with minimal slop. Drill press needs to be capable of low speed to avoid chatter. If things are optimal it "may work" any vertical mill even a mini mill will do a better job for this milling operation.
Question: In drill press, how will they do for plunge cutting? I was under impression I need center cut end mill for boring metal, am I wrong
Answer: I have been using the 1/4 and 3/8 bits for mortising in cherry wood, they are excellent at that - clean cut, not much vibration, stay sharp longer than other he's spiral bits.

Answer: End mills don't really have a cutting depth. The general rule is to never plunge more than 1/2 the diameter of the mill. That said this is a nice starter set of end mills. Great for brass and aluminum. Go slow with steel. Use plenty of lube.
