Answer:	Hi Im an acoustic guitar tech and touring musician. I don't completely understand the question,since the tuning is based on the guitar strings be set to "drop D" nothing to do with the capo.If you set your guitar to lowering the E string to a D( which is drop D) putting the capo on the 2nd fret will give you the same effect but just on a higher pitch.It would then be drop E tuning,fourth fret drop F tuning etc...the capo is great and can handle any tuning to set the guitar at.If you want a drop D tuning( in actual pitch if D while using a capo,youd have to tune down the guitar a whole step then lower the D 6th string to a C and put the capo on the second fret..Hope this wasnt to complicated.Short answer: Yes Good luck

Answer:	Don't know what 12 string guitars the other answers refer to but I play almost exclusively twelve string acoustics, and this works for me at least up to the 7th fret (that's as high as I use it). As someone else says, it's 2.25" wide, so that is the limiting factor. Sure, as with all capo's on 12 strings, you need to have enough tension to pull down the big fat low E far enough that the octave string next to it is also pulled down, which does result in excessive bending of the low E. But at least with this capo you can dial that in. I've always used a fixed tension capo in the past that presses far too hard on the strings and pulls the strings too far out of tune. This capo is much, much better!

Question:	can i use this to measure screws? i mixed up a bunch of screws in a bag and have no idea what size is which
Answer:	Yes, you can use this device to measure screws. You can check both the diameter of a screw and its length. You should know that some U.S. diameters are not given in ordinary length units. For example, sizes 6, 8 and 10. In order to classify the unknown screws, you could just get some known screws, measure them and write down the diameter of each of the known diameters, then compare the unknown ones with the figures you wrote down. On the other hand, length of screws in the U.S. always seem to be measured in inches, so you can set the caliper to read out in inches. You will have to translate, for example, 1.500 inches to 1-1/2 inches. However, the decimal numbers are seldom exactly what you expect. You have to assume that the numbers might vary by up to about 1/64 inch (about 0.016 inch).

Question:	How Big Is It
Answer:	There are charts online that tell you what size to get based on your height. I am 5'7" and have a 25 inch ball, which seems right for exercises where I am siting on it. However, that seems too big to use with the "dead bug" exercise, so I am going to get a smaller ball for that. So it depends how you plan to use it.

Question:	Is it appropriate to run a marking knife along the rule edge? Because it's a reference tool, is there a better Starrett for that
Answer:	All of Starrett's measuring tools are the best out there. I don't think one is better than the other. It's just personal preference. Nothing wrong with running your blade along the side. That's how I do it. Although I use an exacto knife with a razor blade.
Question:	Does this come with a Satin Chrome blade like the Starret website shows
Answer:	Mine came with the standard blade not the satin blade. I would have preferred the satin but I thought it was not available.

Answer:	they do not automatically lock in position but there is a small thumbscrew that you can use to lock the jaws in position.

Answer:	The battery compartment is located to the right of the LCD display. To gain access to the battery turn the caliper face down. Take the small Phillips head screwdriver included in the caliper box and remove the screw. The battery cover can then removed. An extra battery is provided with the caliper.
