Answer:	Only if it has been sealed or painted. Surface must be non porous.
Question:	Can I use this to paint a cooktop? I'm having a hard time finding high heat paint that comes in a gloss and not flat finish
Answer:	Yes, the coating will not affect touchscreen functionality.
Question:	How many cans did it take to do all 4 calipers? Or is one can good enough
Answer:	Any new/clean microfiber towel will do just fine, 300-500 gsm will work great. We recommend a dedicated towel or pad for application and a separate towel for buffing. Once Renew cures in the towel you will want to throw it out, though if you wash immediately after application it could be washed out and reused.
Question:	can i use this product to heat-proof an art project trivet made of ceramic tile with decorative paper on it
Answer:	I’m sure you can but one coat has performed excellent for me for a couple of months now with no signs of deterioration. You can definitely get multiple coats/coat multiple vehicles with one bottle however as a little of this product seemed to go a LONG way.

Answer:	The inch scale is on the bottom of the beam, on the bottom of the slider - vernier scale (helping to measure with 0.001" accuracy). At the top of the beam and slider - centimeter scale and vernier scale.
Question:	Do the calipers have serial numbers? i would like to employ them in an iso conforming shop
Answer:	I only have one pair of these Vernier calipers, so I'm not sure it the number stamped on the front is a serial number but my best guess is that it is. The pair of FOWLER Vernier calipers that I have will stand up to and of my dial calipers for accuracy.

Question:	What is the "case"? Is it a cardboard sleeve, or a decent plastic protective case
Answer:	I would say 2 cans for all 4. I used 1 can of black for the front 2. I applied 2 light coats. Which reminds me: I never did the rears. Make sure to clean them very good before painting. Use a wire brush to get all the dirt off first. Spray cleaner & then more wire brush.

Question:	near the mm/inch button there is another compartment that opens, anybody knows what it is for
Answer:	Other than the battery, the other compartment is for an RS-232 interface. This interface is for programming &/or data acquisition, proprietary interfaces that only the manufacturer have.
Question:	could I use this to measure nut size so as to get the right socket
Answer:	Yes, you can. Measure the diameter of the nut from one flat side to the opposite flat side. That will be the size of the nut.
Question:	What is the measurement range? I need to know the very smallest inside diameter it can measure as well as the largest
Answer:	The smallest inside will depend how deep you go, but close to surface I would say 1mm or even less. It goes up to 150mm.
Question:	What is the smallest inside measurement it can make
Answer:	Approximately .5MM but not deep. To go to depth of jaws about 6MM. Hope it helps.

Question:	can i use this to measure screws? i mixed up a bunch of screws in a bag and have no idea what size is which
Answer:	Yes, you can use this device to measure screws. You can check both the diameter of a screw and its length. You should know that some U.S. diameters are not given in ordinary length units. For example, sizes 6, 8 and 10. In order to classify the unknown screws, you could just get some known screws, measure them and write down the diameter of each of the known diameters, then compare the unknown ones with the figures you wrote down. On the other hand, length of screws in the U.S. always seem to be measured in inches, so you can set the caliper to read out in inches. You will have to translate, for example, 1.500 inches to 1-1/2 inches. However, the decimal numbers are seldom exactly what you expect. You have to assume that the numbers might vary by up to about 1/64 inch (about 0.016 inch).
