| Answer: | The ball flange is 2” in diameter so the furniture feet needs to be 2”x2” square or 2” in diameter to stay hidden. Also, when installing, you must have a circular depression above and into the leg (or basket) to accommodate the dome above the bearing. Lastly, we’re talking a steel ball and you talking indentation in a wooden or linoleum floor. So it could work if you can accommodate the possible issues. |

| Answer: | I used a couple of these on the underside of a porch gate to help keep the gate from sagging and to help with a smoother opening and closing. So far it's working great. I don't think these would be good on carpet, even commercial carpeting. Any weight they carried would make them sink into the carpet and the bearing isn't exposed enough for that. It's just barely exposed enough to roll on a solid surface. |

Instead the back is a steel cup below the ball and inside the ball enclosure. So the backing cup and the enclosure make a complete surround of the ball except for the top from which the ball protrudes. |

| Answer: | It is recessed. The mounting holes will be very close to the recess (maximum 3/32") so make the recess as small a diameter as possible (minimum 22 mm x 9 mm deep). Otherwise you may be screwing into air or your screw will be so close to the recess that it will break through the recess wall before it tightens. That is what happened to some of my screws after using a 15/16" (22.96 mm) forstner bit. Maybe a 7/8" (21.44 mm) forstner bit would work OK? DO A TEST MOUNTING FIRST. Ideally, you would use a 23 mm diameter COVE (round nose) router bit (if you had one) and cut to 9 mm depth to make the recess. That will leave a 22 mm diameter opening If you have a 15/16" cove bit, it should produce similar results. It is more likely you have a 7/8" cove bit and it should work if you drill slightly deeper. TMI See sectioned view provided in pictures. DO A TEST AND TRY SCREWS BEFORE DRILLING THE REAL PART! |
