| Answer: | I have used these exact same once when I was in Afghanistan on the fobs to make light of the objects on the small squad base that were hard to see at night. I was there through the winter and I ended up taking a box home with me. After six months or so of drastic climate changes, the chemlights were still effective. If you crack them and use them through the majority of their life, sticking them in the freezer for a few hours drastically increased their life capacity for illumination. I only speak from personal experience, so your experience may vary. Regardless, it's a great product to have in emergencies or just cracking them at random bars and giving them out to strangers! | Answer: | I purchased these a year ago. At the time, all of the ones I used light brightly and most (if not all) lasted quite some time. Some colors were still dimly lit after 24 hours. It's been a year and I rediscovered my container of these after cleaning out the garage. I was very surprised to find that around half of them simply to not light at all. Not a hint of glow even in a dark room. Of the other half, most of them light brightly and last up to 24 hours, the remaining 10% or so are somewhat dimmer than previously. As far as I can tell, it doesn't seem specific to any particular colors. Perhaps there is a very slow leak or something in some of the tubs that results in a dud after a year or so? I didn't test mid way through the year, so I can't speak for exactly how long it took for some of these to stop working. |

| Answer: | I ordered them for a work party. The party was rescheduled for a month after the intended date. (I prob bought about ten days before I had first planned to use them). When we had the party and activated the sticks for the centerpieces (stuck in mason jars) they were very dim (as I reviewed). Maybe they really do mean to use within one week although I've never heard of that with other brands. |

| Answer: | No, just what is pictured... The little "spidey-vision" telescopes were the party favorites at my son's birthday party. But the kids loved/played with everything. We just used a big blue bowl and let the kids come and go. We also ordered the Spiderman table cloth with the plates, napkins, cups, and masks and were very happy with how it all came together. |

The Cyalume SnapLight is a green industrial grade light stick measuring 6" long, for providing instant 360 degree illumination, that can be seen up to a mile away for up to 12 hours in optimal conditions. The SnapLight is waterproof, non-toxic, and non-flammable. To activate the light stick, bend, snap and shake the tube. The light stick has a hook and gate top, for hanging or attaching the light. Each light stick is individually foil-wrapped for protection from light and moisture, and has up to a five-year shelf life from date of manufacture. The durable, waterproof, external body of the light stick is made from low density polyethylene (LDPE), and is phthalate free for safety. The internal illuminating substance is non-toxic and non-flammable, and the components of the light stick are recyclable. The light stick floats in water and works best between 40 to 80 degrees F (4 to 27 degrees C), and although the light stick works at higher or lower temperatures, it is less effective in colder temperatures. All sticks are tested at a temperature of 72 degrees F (22 degrees C) to determine the illumination duration. Each 10-degree C (50-degree F) increase or decrease in temperature doubles or halves the reaction rate, and therefore the brightness and duration. For example, the same light stick that emits approximately 30 lux (a unit that describes how much light is visible over a square meter) at 15 minutes after activation at 24 degrees C (75 degrees F) will be half as bright but glow twice as long at 14 degrees C (57 degrees F). At 34 degrees C (93 degrees F), the same light stick would be twice as bright, but glow half as long. Storage at elevated temperatures (above 120 degrees F or 49 degrees C) will decrease shelf life and start to soften the plastic tube, and increase the risk of a leak. Exposure to cold temperatures will not affect the light sticks if they are warmed above 40 degrees F (4. 5 degrees C) before activation, unless they are frozen (which occurs at -15 to -20 degrees F, or -26 to -29 degrees C). Once light sticks have been frozen, they will still produce some light, but performance will not be as reliable. Humidity and atmospheric conditions do not affect the light sticks. | Answer: | Chem lights have been around for decades. These are commonly used for night dives, kayaks & canoes, in rain,camping, emergency lights, marker lights, etc. I always attached mine with a short cord to an air tank valve. Chem lights are a sealed plastic tube with a small, fragile glass tube inside. You bend the plastic tube enough to break the glass combining the chemicals. The plastic tube will not break or be cut by the glass. |

| Answer: | Vacuum sealing will not extend storage life as the cyalume chemical is already sealed in an air tight tube which prevents leakage and exposure to air. Temperature is a much more important factor. Heat will decrease their shelf life so I'd consider storing them in a cool place. |

| Answer: | I was in a pitch black room door closed and no windows when I tried it out and I was able to find my locker and see the combination numbers on my lock. I thought it was pretty good. | Answer: | I bought a box Feburary 2018. Expiration date on package say December 2022. That means they were manufactured 2 months prior to my purchase. That's very new when you consider time to produce, package, and ship it, plus delivery time to warehouse, shelf time prior to sale, and shipping to me. All of this blather simply means that the shelf life is 5 years. |
