Answer:	Probably not. They have to be within a quarter inch or so of each other or some ferrous metal to hold very strongly. I use them to hold down some canvass material against a metal rail but I have to use one disc every foot or so.

Answer:	I used a 1.25" forstner bit and it was a fraction too small. Had to carve them out a bit too get the magnets to fit. These claim they're 1.26" in diameter and i believe that's accurate.
Question:	Is there a trick for separating them? I struggle to pull them apart
Answer:	I found sliding them off one at a time works best. Once you slide one off the top a couple of centimeters, you can separate them by pushing a thin piece of plastic between them - like a guitar pick or a tiddlywink.
Question:	Will they work with a 1inch piece of wood between them
Answer:	magnetic force dies off at the rate of about 1/r with r raised to the 4th power so the greater the 'r', the distance to the item attracted, then the attraction is reduced by a huge amount... Hold two magnets an inch apart and feel how week the force is between them, either attractive or repulsive, then try bringing them within an 8th of an inch of each other and see how the force increases!

Answer:	I use Neos on oil filters without a problem. Any fine ferrous material in the oil stops there. I use 1" dia x 1/2 thick 45lb pull Neos. (Strong enough to put on a closed steel tool box and pull tools to the top from the top tray inside the tool box.) No noticeable degradation in strength over 30,000 miles (car) 25,000 miles (water cooled motorcycle). As for actual temp, I would suspect much higher temp than what I run them at (180F or so), they would begin to lose their magic.

Question:	I just received my sleeves, i really like them, but i have a question. how do i remove the sleeve from the bit? i want to use the other side as well
Answer:	Just rotate the sleeve and pull it from the bit. :)
Question:	Why are these devices only ever shown being used with Phillips screws
Answer:	Can use any type bit. Has to be a long bit. Dont know why they always show with Phillip's, most used type maybe.
Question:	How do you get it off? Like to put on the other side of the bit
Answer:	Just pull and rotate a little bit it will come out easily. It fit all 1/4” bits with slot.

Product description

Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. They are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses.

These 32mm diameter Neodymium disc magnets produce an astonishing pull of 18lb and every magnet has a triple coating of nickel, copper and nickel again to prevent against corrosion.



These disc magnets are 1.26 inch (32mm) diameter and 0.12 inch (3mm) thick. They are magnetized through the thickness.

They are composed of grade52 neodymium iron boron magnetic material and are plated in nickel-copper-nickel for a shiny corrosion resistant finish. Maximum working temperature is 176 F (80 C).
