Answer: | Hmmm, I’m pretty sure that these are N52. Just keep in mind that one disk is not big, so it’s magnetic field will be relatively small. If you combine the disks without any spacers, you will see the force greatly increases to what I believe is appropriate for N52. I have never measured the grade of a magnet, but I know that these are not weak compared to toy magnets. |

Answer: | I am going to use these for this purpose. Here's why: a standard ceramic magnet can stick to another magnet with a pretty strong pull, but on a metal surface it is much weaker. These are VERY difficult to pull away from each other, but I imagine it will be much easier to pull a spice jar off the fridge, since the fridge is not a magnet. They also provide enough strength that I am not concerned about a glass spice jar falling off the fridge. |

Answer: | I used a 1.25" forstner bit and it was a fraction too small. Had to carve them out a bit too get the magnets to fit. These claim they're 1.26" in diameter and i believe that's accurate. |

Answer: | I found sliding them off one at a time works best. Once you slide one off the top a couple of centimeters, you can separate them by pushing a thin piece of plastic between them - like a guitar pick or a tiddlywink. |

Answer: | magnetic force dies off at the rate of about 1/r with r raised to the 4th power so the greater the 'r', the distance to the item attracted, then the attraction is reduced by a huge amount... Hold two magnets an inch apart and feel how week the force is between them, either attractive or repulsive, then try bringing them within an 8th of an inch of each other and see how the force increases! |

Answer: | I use Neos on oil filters without a problem. Any fine ferrous material in the oil stops there. I use 1" dia x 1/2 thick 45lb pull Neos. (Strong enough to put on a closed steel tool box and pull tools to the top from the top tray inside the tool box.) No noticeable degradation in strength over 30,000 miles (car) 25,000 miles (water cooled motorcycle). As for actual temp, I would suspect much higher temp than what I run them at (180F or so), they would begin to lose their magic. |

If so, you'd simply need to magnetize the socket; however, if neither end of the connection is magnetic, you'd need to insert a magnet into both, keeping in mind how this would compromise the fitment of the socket onto your extension, causing the possibility of it falling off while in use. These are strong magnets, but likely not strong enough to make up the difference for good fitment on a socket/ratchet connection if we're talking about, say, auto mechanic work. |

2. Once off thestack,carefully start lifting the magnet.
3. Lift the magnet to free it from the stack.
