Question: | Can they be drilled |
Answer: | I don't know for sure but probably with the correct drill. You would have a little trouble cleaning the particles off the drill I think |
Question: | Are they strong enough to use in a leather money clip for holding cash? leather will be 1/4" thick between magnets |
Answer: | Absolutely, they're strong enough for your needs, but these magnets are actually too strong. You need to be very careful when using them to keep from pinching your fingers. They also shatter very easily, and the pieces have very sharp edges. |
Question: | How many regular size papers can it hold on a magnetic dry erased glass board |
Answer: | The magnetism drops off in an inverse squared progression. Thus doubling the distance they are apart results in the pull dropping to 1/4 of the hat it was previously (1/2^2). To answer your question we would need to know the distance between the magnet and the metal. The width of both the paper and the glass will significantly reduce the attraction. |
Question: | do they break easily |
Answer: | Yes, they break very easily. I had mine for just a few minutes and broke two of them. One of them fell on the floor from the kitchen counter, and the other one broke when it snapped together with another magnet. Trying to get the super-sharp shards of magnet off the other magnet was very tricky. I had to use a knife to scrape the pieces off the unbroken magnet, then scrape the jagged bits off the knife with a piece of wood and into the trash. Now I'm more careful with them. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What would it do to slot machine |
Answer: | MESS IT up |
Question: | Can this harm a phone if it's near it |
Answer: | A lot of these answers are either sarcastic or aren't correct. So I'll actually answer this question. Your question is "Can this harm a phone if it's near it?" Your answer is no, literally just no. The magnet is not powerful enough to harm your phone. I put very very powerful N52 magnets on my phone or near my phone for hours and hours each day. And I'm confident betting that my phone will work normally after exposure. And I am confident that everyone else's phones will work normally as well after having a magnet on them. For the reasons why it will NOT harm your phone. The magnetic field is NOT strong enough to erase anything. And even if it was 10 times stronger it won't erase anything. Information on a phone is stored digitally not physically. i.e NOT Magnetic hard drive as in an old 2001 computer. Some phones like mine has a magnetic sensor used to put the phone to sleep. Usually these magnets are in cases. So when you close the case your screen turns black. That's a normal operation of your phone. So if your phone screen turns black when you put this magnet ner your phone. Just know that's normal. My phone does that and so does a lot of peoples phones. |
Question: | What's coercivity of the n52 magnets |
Answer: | Depends if it is sintered or bonded, if sintered magnet vary from 750-2000 kA/m while bonded will range anywhere from 600-1200 kA/m |
Question: | Can I make a Gauss Rifle with some of these |
Answer: | Sorry I don't know anything about those rifles. All I can tell you is it is a very powerful magnet. If you watch the videos on utube you will see some demonstrations of how powerful neodymium 52 are. |

User questions & answers
Question: | will this release a lock threw 3/4 inch solid oak |
Answer: | It could very well, although Inhave not tried that. Steel, not brass, right? If the lock is gunned up, try WD40 to Prime it. That will not diminish the magnet strength. I suggest wrapping the magnet in a very thin nylon fabric or net so it is easier to pull out and separate. This does diminish the strength but they are so strong that it probably does not matter. Good Luck! |
Question: | Are these magnets double sided? I want to stick it to a metal surface on my car, and then stick my metal phone case to the other side, will this work |
Answer: | it will do it, but you do not want to do that. This magnet is so strong it will tear your phone up. As a matter in fact, you don't want to wear a watch or get it close to your credit cards or anything else like a computer or a tablet or anything else you care about. These are strong magnets!!! |
Question: | How many magnets do you get for $17.50? only |
Answer: | Only one |
Question: | Can I open a jammed safe with this |
Answer: | Neodymium magnets have been used to open safes, but weather or not this would work on your exact safe i cannot five an accurate answer. in these situations stronger is generally better. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does each order come with only one magnet |
Answer: | correct this lot is for 1 magnet |
Question: | What is the north/ south pole orientation ? is it on top and bottom ? i am trying to use for a levitation project. thanks |
Answer: | I have mine mounted with an eyebolt so I can't tell if there's any top/bottom field orientation. I don't think so. I also don't think there's any left/right field orientation because -- round. Just an incredibly strong pull straight up. I have to be super careful not to put it down on, say, a metal picnic table. Because when they say it can lift 500 lbs they are NOT KIDDING. If I had it to do over, I think I'd actually buy the smaller version. |
Question: | If usning to mount a fishfinder transducer to kayak do I need two magnets, or just one and a piece of metal |
Answer: | I would think one would do the job. This magnet is very powerful and I find it attaches securely to most metal. |
Question: | Can this really hold 200lbs |
Answer: | Seth, i can not verify that it will hold 200 lbs. as i did not try that, but i can tell you when you get close to the metal you are attaching it to, don't have your fingers between it. they are super strong |

Ring Magnet Uses
.
Ring magnets are also occasionally used in medicine. For example, some studies have shown that they neutralize Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD) if they malfunction. ICDs correct the heart’s rhythm with an electric shock if it becomes irregular.
Sometimes the ICD malfunctions and can apply more shocks than are needed, which can be fatal for the patient unless a ring magnet is applied to the patient’s chest.
Magnets come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are used every day in your home as well as in classrooms, science labs and hospitals

User questions & answers
Question: | If i used this magnet to hang my keys could it damage a car alarm remote |
Answer: | Most keys are made of brass because it's softer and less likely to canals the tumblers in a lock. So the keys themselves probably won't grab the magnet. However the key ring is probably steel and that will work. I glued a much smaller magnet to my steering column to hold up keys and keep them from dangling on my knee. I had no problems but the magnet is not near my key fob. I don't think there are is anything magnetic in yours, but I can't be sure. If to still want to do this, I suggest using a much smaller magnet and making sure the remote dangles below the magnet. |
Question: | Is it magnetic on both sides |
Answer: | Yeah it is a magnet. It will still on all sides. It is also very strong for size. If u attach on the larger surface area it almost has to be slide off the surface. Very strong |
Question: | What is the gauss rating of the magnet |
Answer: | You should ask the manufacturer. I’m very happy with them |
Question: | are the poles on the ends or the flats? thanks |
Answer: | the poles will be on the large flat surface. 4" x 1/2" face. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this for a stronger connection to a metal object as a 1-inch cube |
Answer: | These magnets are incredibly strong. If you put two of them together you will not be able to pull them apart. The one inch cubes are rated around 200 pounds. |
Question: | How much will it lift |
Answer: | I’m not sure how many pound but it’s super strong. I’m a pretty strong guy. I cannot separate it by hand once it’s attached to a metal or another magnet. My guess is that it can lift more than 50 lb |
Question: | What sides are north and south poles |
Answer: | Not that it is a silly question but since it is a sphere there is no sides. Half of the sphere registers South the other half North. The center of each reading the strongest. Also very strong magnet. Not for children or beginners. |
Question: | Do these magnets come with a storage container |
Answer: | Mine as well came with no container. And as derek thai stated, they are very strong and almost impossible to separate from a magnet of like composition. I have two sphere magnets and have had them together, i was able to separate them but was incredibly difficult. |
