The hook end of the strap will wrap around any part of the chair to then be attached to the "D" ring securing it for transport. I did not notice the "D" rings at first and was attempting to locate an attachment point on the chair to secure the hooks to. I feel bad for the person here posting that they ended up discarding the carry shoulder strap in frustration for not being able to attach the strap to the chair. This chair is very well made and the strap design is actually very thoughtful being that you can attach it to the chair in any location that is most comfortable and convenient for your situation.
