Question:	Will this damage pave set jewelry? I have a very delicate pave set halo ring and am afraid this will be too strong for it? Even if it is well made
Answer:	I use Simple Green or Fast Orange combined with warm (not hot) water in a 50/50 ration. This works best (for me) over any other cleaning solution combo for jewelry. I then rinse in clean water and use a can of compressed air (the kind you use for computer keyboards) to blow dry diamonds and give it that extra sparkle.

Answer:	Preset cleaning cycles is a fancy term for how many seconds the machine is set to run - 90, 180, 280, 380 and 480 seconds.
Question:	What's the difference between this unit and a regular household pressurize steamer with a concentrated nozzle
Answer:	The short answer is that regardless of the mis-worded/backwards instructions in the manual, you should never ever submerge any watch in an ultrasonic cleaner, period. The entire purpose of the ultrasonic cleaner is to aggressively drive water into the tiniest of crevices to clean out debris. The sealing gaskets for watches are not designed with ultrasonic cleaners in mind. Even diving watches are not tested against such aggressive environments. The ratings on non-diving watches are for brief submersions in static environments when brand new. With age the o-rings degrade. The seal around the stem isn't very tight to start with, and after a battery change the seal for the back is rarely very robust. Answer:	A couple reviews were misleading. Here's the guidance straight from the manual on this question and it was bolded: "ATTENTION: - Glasses / Sunglasses with pre-existing scratches or cracks in the coating are not suitable for ultrasonic cleaning. Ultrasonic cleaning is only suitable for cleaning frames. - Antique jewelry, jewelry containing loose stones, and jewelry containing soft / porous stones like pearls, emeralds, amber and opal should not be cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaner. If you are unsure about whether you should use the ultrasonic cleaner on your specific type of jewelry, please consult your local jeweler." I ruined a pair of glasses. If you have even the slightest, think almost invisible, crack in the coating or a break in it where the lenses meet the frames (very hard to detect), the ultrasonic cleaner will vigorously attack these defects and start to strip away the entire coating, thereby trashing your glasses. If your lenses are COATED with anything, follow the manufacturer's advice and do not use an ultrasonic cleaner.

Answer:	Hi there! I am from GemOro and would like to help. Cleaning Morganite with a steam cleaner is usually safe according to the Gemological Institute of America or GIA. The beauty of using a steamer is that you can control the heat exposure to the stone by how closely you place the Morganite jewelry to the steam nozzle. If the stone has a lot of visible inclusions, there is a slight risk of fracture if exposed to too much heat, but this is really unlikely. If the stone is heavily included, just back the rink a couple of inches or more from the steam nozzle where it is cooler and it should be fine. Morganite has a hardness on the Mohs hardness scale of a 7.5-8, whereas diamond is a 10. Morganite is a pretty hard and durable stone. As for the color fading, I would tend to disagree that there might be an issue with this if steamed under normal conditions, It would take prolonged exposure of high heat for this to occur. You are smart to ask, since not all gemstones may be cleaned with steam. But you're fine generally speaking cleaning Morganite with our steamer. I hope this helps. If you are talking about one of our household steam cleaners, they do have nozzles for cleaning small areas, but the size of the hole on the nozzle is bigger than the one on this unit. This is made for jewelry cleaning and the steam is activated with a foot pedal. Question:	Continuous steam: I know that you can do short bursts of steam, but can you also do continuous steam
Answer:	I always use the ultrasonic first but if you are just touching up the polish you can use the steamer only. Steamers don't get that built up gunk off stones by themselves. If I have really dirty jewelry I soak the pieces in TSP then put them in the ultrasonic then steam. Putting heat (torch) on dirty jewelry almost guarantees you won't be getting the black off afterwards, especially on pave or micro-pave. I hope this helps. I am assuming that you are talking about working on jewelry if this question is about your own personal jewelry that isn't too dirty then the steamer would probably do.
