Answer:	I think it does. It makes be a few points off, not sure, but our salt reader went out on our pool and was going to cost a boatload of money. Our pool guy recommended getting a meter. Since I keep our salt in a range of 2900-3400ppm I am not too concerned if it is perfect so I haven’t tested it. I am pleased with this. Serves me well.

But once the ppm of the salt solution exceeds 10,000, the salinity checker display went blank and was not able to read anything. Note that the instrument is rated to measure a ppm of 9999.

If you cannot get a sample of reverse osmosis water to test (it should read about 40 tds or less), get some distilled water from a pharmacy to test. This will give you a baseline. I would not expect any of the drip style or cartridge style refrigerator filters will do much to remove hardness as they tend to rely on activated carbon which is better at removing chlorine (among other chemicals) and organic compounds.

Operation

1. Turn on the meter by pressing ON/OF, remove the protective cap, put it into the solution to be tested, and shouldn't over the immersion line. Then shake it slightly in water several times to get rid of air bubbles around the electrode and read the correct measurement value after the value is stable

2. Press MODE/CAL will enter into the different models, the unit of TDS is PPM or PPT, the unit of EC is uS or mS, the unit of salt is %，the unit of seawater specific gravity is S.G.

Operation Instructions of Aquatic Refractometer:

1. Calibration: Accurate measurement depends on careful calibration. To calibrate the ATC salinity refractometer accurately, firstly you should make sure the ambient temperature is about 68℉.Recommend you do the calibration in an Air-conditioned room in which the temperature is set on 68℉. You can use distilled water to calibrate. Open the cover plate,place 2-3 drops of distilled water on the prism, then close the cover plate and make sure the water spreads across the prism without air bubbles or dry spots. Wait for about 30 seconds to let the reading to stabilize. Look into the eyepiece and turn the calibration screw with the screw driver until the reading is "0".

2. Clean the prism with soft cloth, and then place 2-3 drops of the liquid sample to be tested on the prism, look into the eyepiece and you can get the reading.

Question:	Should I calibrate before first use after delivery (or should I save the calibration buffer powder packs for when needed in the future
Answer:	I did not see one listed with those specs. 1 - 0 wire is pretty big for vehicle use unless you are using a bank of batteries in parallel like for a rv system. I suspect that you would need a bigger breaker for that kind of setup. One possibility for a battery bank would be to ise one breaker on each battery. For 1 - 0 wire, you would want a bigger breaker with a higher "trip" current rating to handle the current flow which such wire would be used for and still trip if a dangerous short circuit did occur.
Question:	Why would the pH tip and the conductivity tip display different temperatures for the same solution (at room temperature
Answer:	This is not important. Just use two sections of the same cable as for a switch. everything that goes into "IN" comes out in "OUT". it is not a polarite but just to say that it is the bridge between two sections of the same cable.
