Powering up the unit in a clean air environment will ensure greatest measuring accuracy.

Answer:	they've worked very well with all of the pins I've tried. They have a little stretch, so if the pin isn't too much wider than average, they should just fine for you.

Answer:	I believe it depends on the fabric. I used a satin/polyester blend and it did leave holes in my material.

Answer:	Assuming a felt backer, i would say Yes, if poked thru the backer and secured prior to the backer being affixed to the Brooch. with this in mind, a tack pin with a larger, maybe 10mm head, and a longer shank might work better. These Tack shanks have a 4.5mm head on a 8mm long shank. something with a 10mm head on a 8-10mm shank might work better, as most felt is 2-3mm thick. this is dependent on the backer material you use of course...

Answer:	The 7899 Combustible Gas Leak Detector with DIGITAL READOUT can detect Methane (CH4) or Liquid Propane gas (a mixture of isoButane and isoPropane), but generally to several types of Hydrocarbons. It responds to Natural Gas, Propane, Town Gas, Methane, Butane, Kerosene, and Gasoline fumes.
