This microscope immersion oil contains 1 Oz (30ml) Type B immersion oil, generally used with a microscope objectives for better microscopy images.
Note: how to clean Microscopes Immersion Oil? If you are using a 100X objective with immersion oil, just simply "swipe" the excess oil off the lens with a kimwipe after use. Occasionally dust may build up on the lightly oiled surface so if you wish to completely remove the oil then you must use an oil soluble solvent. For the Type A or B immersion oil, you can use Naptha, Xylene, or turpentine (use very small amounts on the kimwipe). Do not use water, alcohol or acetone as the oil is insoluble to these solvents. Consult the MSDS info that is supplied with your immersion oil to see what solvents are recommended. To remove other oily substances, we recommend using the detergent called Wisk and prepare a solution of 1 part Wisk to 100 parts water.
A drop of immersion oil between the slide and condenser, and between the slide and objective lens, provides a distortion-free path for light. Safe for all lenses, this medium-viscosity immersion oil is slightly thicker than Type A. The refractive index is 1.5150, the same as that of glass. It can be easily cleaned from slides with a bit of xylene on a lens tissue and is supplied in a bottle with applicator tip so no pipet is necessary.

User questions & answers
Question: | What are some tricks to getting the 25x to focus and be as sharp at the 10x eyepieces? Can you only use the 25x for the 100x with oil |
Answer: | It really isn’t that useful to use the 25x ocular lenses, the 10x work fine, but using the 25 x reduces the field of view so much that unless you are looking at something and need a small area magnified I suggest you don’t need them. You can use it with the 100x but it won’t work well because it goes above the reducing power of the lens. Pretty much 100 x 10 is the top end of good resolution. |
Question: | Ex i want question about sending date,,if you want sending this microscope to all over the united state,s for us,,how much it long time aboutly |
Answer: | I don't think it took more than a week to arrive |
Question: | Does this have a top light? That lights up things from the top not just from below |
Answer: | Actually I don't think it does have a top light. All of the magnification is up on top and the light is in the base. There are other items you can buy to attach to this scope however like an external viewer for example or to take photographs or a slide. It is a really great scope....as good as the ones I used in college! |
Question: | Is this microscope strong enough to identify and differentiate between species of mold |
Answer: | This is a pretty inexpensive microscope and the optics, while offering up to 2000 x magnification, are not great. Considering Galileo used optics he made himself I would say if you employ ingenuity and creativity you will be able to differentiate mold species. I've seen some amazing things with my microscope. The 2000 magnification uses the oil immersion technique for clarity. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the inluded ring light cast a blue light as photo's appear or is it white light? I have a ring light that is useless due to it's blue cast throw |
Answer: | Yes, through the software that comes with it. It's best to download the latest version from AmScope's web site though, and you need to calibrate it with the included calibration slide. I have found that at high magnification I can reliably get to .001" accuracy but because it is using the left lens there is a slight skew to the image, tilting the part slightly or rotating the head can eliminate that issue, but then if you are looking through the right eye piece that image will be more skewed. That said, small price to pay for the functionality you are getting, to get better optics a Nikon or Leica will cost you $5,000-$10,000 to do the same thing. |
Question: | The specs list the shipping weight as 61 pounds, while the item weight is 3.2 pounds. Why the difference |
Answer: | Dear Customer, it will stay in the current position. If there are any further questions, please feel free to contact our service team via [email protected] or the call center: +1-833-438-9277. Thanks. Best Regards, TENVIS Team |
Question: | Can you purchase software to capture still's using this scope? Also does anyone recommend good software for it |
Answer: | Yes of course. If you are worried with their safety, the Tenvis Ucam camera will support up to 4 users conference and you can chat with them anytime. All of your privacy is protected and no one can get in without your permission. At the same time, you may turn on the motion detection to keep you updated about your home at anytime. |
Question: | does this unit measure parts |
Answer: | Yes, with the support of the Tenvis Ucam app, you can instantly observe what your lovely pet is doing under a crystalized view. Besides, you can warn them instantly once they are causing any trouble at home. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this item fit the amscope sm 1 tz trinocular |
Answer: | It comes with a USA plug on it, however it will operate on any input voltage from 100-240 vac. If you buy an adapter from USA plug to French plug it will work fine. |
Question: | Is this product compatible with the sm-6tx product? the objective lens on the sm-6tx appears to slope and has no visible holes to mount the light. thx |
Answer: | We use this in a room with Florescent Lights and the included Ring appears to cast a white light. I do not detect any tones of blue light. |
Question: | Does this have a warranty |
Answer: | No idea - looks like a typo. The one we have is a beast - I know as I tried to move it from one table to another just yesterday. If you stick with the 61 pounds as the item weight you won't be far off. |
Question: | May this item sell with French plug and for europeen 240Volt |
Answer: | If you purchase the AMScope camera, the software comes with it, not only can you capture images with it, but you also get fairly accurate measurement capabilities included too, just make sure to get the newest version of the camera, older ones have slower refresh rates. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there room in the box to store additional slides |
Answer: | For future reference, I found only listings for Geosafari _JR_ Talking Microscopes. All the photos I could find for that model clearly indicate that Geosafari Jr slides are encased in some kid of plastic framework for use with only the Geosafari Jr Talking Microscopes. Silly? Yes I agree but Marketing rules. As such, IMHO regular slides (such as those in the AmScope set) will _not_ work in Geosafari Jr Talking Microscopes without heroic measures. |
Question: | Will this work with kids geosafari taking microscope |
Answer: | I thought 25 slides were more than enough just for entertainment with a microscope. |
Question: | Do you feel like the 25 slides are plenty? Or do you wish you had bought one with 50 or even 100 slides |
Answer: | Rachel: The list of slides is on the product description page on Amazon. You will find inside all 25 slides, each labeled and numbered, and a printed master list atop the foam insert that presses against the slides. The list is as follows:Specimen slides in the set are: Pine Leaf, Coprimus Mushroom Set, Sunflower Stem, Young Root of Broad Bean, Onion Epidermis, Tilia Stem, Pumpkin Stem, Lillium Ovary, Lillium Anther, Zea Stem, Nymphaea of Apustio Stem, Hydrilla Verticillata Leaf, Pine Stem, Dog Esophagus, Human Blood, Dog Skeletal, Muscle, Pig Motor Nerve, Rabbit Spinal Cord, Rabbit Testis, Dog Cardiac Muscle, Dense Connective Tissue, Housebee Mouth Parts, Honeybee Worker Leg-Composite, Hydra and Dog Stomach. This is a nice selection to start from. I was not disappointed and I taught biology for 30 years. |
Question: | what is inside here |
Answer: | It comes with a couple slides and they are probably counting them separately as well as the other little things that you would think mean one item. The items are very hard to get out of the case and are very poorly made with the exception of the microscope, although mine has a big black thing IN the shaft that I cant get out and blocks some of my view. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What kind of connection is used to output to a monitor |
Answer: | Yes, you can. They sell a still and video camera as well. http://www.amscope.com/5-0-mega-pixel-usb-still-photo-live-video-microscope-imager-digital-camera-5mp.htmlhttp://www.amscope.com/0-3-mega-pixel-usb-live-video-microscope-imager-digital-camera.html |
Question: | Is there an attachment to enable precise movement of the slide on the stage |
Answer: | Not really. The tapered lens of the SM-1TZ means that the light wants to slide off the end of the lens onto the platform. If you removed the mounting screws and attached it to the microscope using mini bungee cords or rubberbands it could work though. Search Amazon for B004XDC0A8 to find some Keeper yellow mini bungee cords, if that would work for you. Just make sure to connect them in a way that won't shoot your eye out if the cord broke or came undone... |
Question: | Is this microscope powerful enough to see amebas in pond scum |
Answer: | Yes. The lens is configured to accept magnification adapters that screw on. There is an area just above where the three screws set into place and holds the light. We use ours without any problems. We do use an additional flex arm LED purchased from Amazon that fully illuminates the work. |
Question: | Can this show the view on a computer |
Answer: | I don't know if it has a specific warranty, but there should be a "returnable by" date when you buy it. Amazon is good about handling returns. I have not had any problems with the light, but I noticed that someone else had a defective one that they returned with no trouble. |

User questions & answers
Question: | does it come with blank slides |
Answer: | I am very dissatisfied with this microscope. All of the controls are very limited and not effective. I am sorry I bought it. |
Question: | does it have a fine focusing adjustment |
Answer: | Yes, very clearly. You could see all sorts of protists. I would use a slide that has a little concave well that lets the little buggers swim around. A cover slip over a flat slide tends to smush them. |

Question: | What is the difference between the blue box and red box except quantity |
Answer: | IDK, I only bought the red box. By comparing descriptions, I see a different vendor and different quantity as the only differences. |
Question: | Anyone know what the difference is between the "Red" 72 pack and the "Blue" 50 pack |
Answer: | its just a color description, but with less slides for blue 50, the red pack is 72 slides. they are pre clean but you will see some lint from the sheet separators. overall great product! |

User questions & answers
Question: | can i view gemstones that are on bracelets, necklaces and rings or do they need to be loose |
Answer: | You can view gemstones in their settings however bracelets or necklaces with a solid or semisolid, band are always problematic on any microscope because of the issues viewing the stones through the table. Flexible bracelets and necklaces that lie flat are no problem unless the settings don't allow light through the pavilion in which case lighting is a little tricky no matter what you use. Solid band bracelets and necklaces require a different stand that allows you to hang the piece vertically so it can be rotated as you view the different stones. |
Question: | Is a gem tweezer (which can be fixed to the stage) included in the box as shown in the picture |
Answer: | Yes, it is included as the picture shows. |
Question: | Do they send good instructions (more than basic focusing) as one person said |
Answer: | That's right, very basic if I remember correctly. It has been a while since I bought the scope. |
Question: | Im thinking on buying this scope. im a gemologist , would it do the job of showing inclusions for clarity grading? does the lower light show inclusion |
Answer: | Yes! We bought it for that purpose and have been very pleased with it. We use the upper predominantly but the lower light works too. |
