| Answer: | Mine dries pretty quickly, however, it may be subjective. I have mine placed inside an often used door, in a well ventilated area that is warmer than outside temperatures. Also the mat seems purpose made so there isn't a lot of excess material or shaggy pile to retain moisture. | Answer: | All mats (regardless of the type, size, or even manufacturer) shrink during the manufacturing process when the surface material is bonded to the backing material. Shrinkage varies depending on the type of materials used but, on average, these mats shrink about from about 5% for larger mats and up to 10% for smaller ones (based on outside edge to outside edge dimensions (ie, including borders)). Because this is an inexact science we can never precisely say what the final size will be (even two identical mats made of the same material, same size and cooked for the same amount of time will have slightly different finished sizes). Thus, all sizes listed on every product page under both Standard Sizes and Custom Sizes show approximate dimensions. This is also reiterated on the top of the Q&A section on our Seller Page. That being said, a 3' x 5' mat would typically end up at around 34" x 57". The only other option is to use a different "pre-shrunk" material which is cut to size by hand AFTER the surface material is bonded to the backing and then add the edging afterwards. | Answer: | So far, so good. I think the problem with many rubber backings is that they are solid and don't let the wood breath. This backing has a lot of tiny "spikes" (not sharp or scratchy, just raised) that allow some amount of airflow under the mat. I have had mine inside my back door on the hard wood floor for about a year with no obvious damage to the wood. |

| Answer: | All mats (regardless of the type, size, or even manufacturer) shrink during the manufacturing process when the surface material is bonded to the backing material. Shrinkage varies depending on the type of materials used but, on average, these mats shrink about from about 5% for larger mats and up to 10% for smaller ones (based on outside edge to outside edge dimensions (ie, including borders)). Because this is an inexact science we can never precisely say what the final size will be (even two identical mats made of the same material, same size and cooked for the same amount of time will have slightly different finished sizes). That being said, a 3' x 4' mat would end up with approximate dimensions of 34" x 45". Thus, all sizes listed on every product page under both Standard Sizes and Custom Sizes show approximate dimensions. This is also reiterated on the top of the Q&A section on our Seller Page. The only other option is to use a different "pre-shrunk" material which is cut to size by hand AFTER the surface material is bonded to the backing and then add the edging afterward. The surface design would also be different. | Answer: | No. There is not a dark or black border. I bought the brn one and its all the same color. I use it by the back door over my good rug for all the snow n salt. Has worked out good so far |
