Answer:	If the communication is one way - from the male connector side on the splitter to the 2 females, then it should work. I used it to connect a device that was outputting information over serial to two different PCs - the male was connected to my device and one female to the male serial connector on each PC. Worked great for this application. So the transmit from my source was connected to the receive on the PCs. No adapters/gender changers were required for this application.

Answer:	Mine are not labeled. Both of my plugs are identical, unmarked, black. Likewise, I get sound in my headphones no matter which I plug into the speaker/headphone output jack. No matter which is plugged into the mic in jack, a microphone test program only registers sound on the mic when there is a sound being played on the headphones. I think this means that both plugs are actually connected to the same L and R headphone rings, and neither is connected to the microphone rings on my 4 place plug.

Question:	How long are the connections? I have only one vga cable
Answer:	About 8 inches. This is male to female though. So the male end likely connects directly to your computer. The female ends(the ends on the 2 that split) would then need a regular vga cable(male to male) to plug into each of them and the monitor. So if you only have one vga cable, you are going to need another.
Question:	Can this not expand view - i can only get the screens to duplicate
Answer:	it will only duplicate. You need to have a separate connection at the computer for the ability to expand. Depending on your computer you should have additional display ports. HDMI DVDI etc, you need a cable to plug into one of those.

Answer:	I do not believe this cable contains diodes. Diodes could cause problems in certain applications due to voltage drop. You could, of course, add them externally.

Answer:	It does not. John is correct in that this is just a serial RS-232C cable. Only allows whatever you have data coming out of a serial DB9 port to be shared with other thingies that will require a serial port input for sharing that data.
