Answer: I used mine for varying the speed of a series wound "universal" motor. A motor with brushes and commutator. It worked to vary the speed. I wired it with the two terminals closest to the heat sink to the 110 the two closest to the variable resistor to the motor.

Answer: I believe you want to know which terminal is power and neutral. Ground is not connected to any terminal, ground would be connected to the frame of the enclosure. This is an AC device, not DC. If you look on the printed circuit side of the board you will see one wire trace goes directly from one terminal to another terminal and no place else, those are the two neutral terminals. Refer to the diagram for line (input) and load (output) terminals.
Question: Will this work in a led dimming circuit, between the ac mains and a dim able led driver
Answer: "...LED's do not work with AC current" That is not true. Yes an LED is a diode and only conducts in one direction but that doesn't mean that it won't light up if hooked to an AC source. It will act like any diode and will only conduct on one half of the AC cycle. The 2 things to be considered are: 1. What is your "dim able led driver"? Is it meant to be driven by standard AC house current? If so, you're good to go. If it's expecting DC, then it might work but will only work with one half of the AC cycle. 2. The LED may produce light that is strobing at 60 cycles since it's off half the time. Not good for lighting. Great for headaches. Bottom line get a standard light dimmer switch.
Question: Will this work to dim some 500w halogen work lights
Answer: I think the answer would be "yes" with some constraints. "Yes" in that my experience has been it overheats at half the 2000 watt rating, but 500 watts should be OK. You should read up on halogen bulbs because unlike tungsten filament bulbs, halogens need to be operated at a certain minimum temperature. You should be able to dim them down to about 70% duty cycle as long as you also operate them at 100% for substantial periods at other times. Otherwise, I think you may have some condensation of tungsten on the glass tube surface. But as far as the wattage is concerned, this device should be ok t 500 watts. If you exceed its capacity it will have thermal shut down until it cools off. You won't have a huge investment if you decide to try it -- either in the PWM device or the tungsten bulbs. Just make sure you don't go below 70% duty cycle and check the bulb surface from time to time for evidence of metal deposits (silvering) and run at 100% duty cycle for a time to remove it. Good luck.

Answer: It should work fine. It’s rated at 12v 2 amp. The LiPo is only putting out 1 amp(1000ma=1amp).

Answer: Yes, the potentiometer has a click switch between off and on. The LED indicator is the component labeled D7, on the front right corner near the potentiometer (as that is facing you) - check out the product images.

Answer: These are not made for heaters they are speed controllers. I would not use it for that purpose.

Answer: The red light is a soldered Tiny SM LED. Not sure if that helps or not.

Answer: I used these to control some LED pad lights. Dimmer function worked well, no flickering, no hum from the unit itself, can't speak to any electrical noise. Dimmer on one of the five failed early on and became just an on-off switch; for the price I'll just order more and have a few spares.

Answer: This is a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control for dc voltages from 3 to 35 volts direct current and is rated up to 5 amps. So if your incandescent lamps are rated within this voltage and current range then it should work. The inrush current on incandescent lamps may be high when the filament is cold, so start the lamp from the narrowest pulse width and increase slowly to the desired brightness....
Question: How exactly do I wire this to my trolling motor? I have a 30lb/30amp motor with a 55 amp hour battery
Answer: Depends on how you want to wire it and if you have a charged field from the battery. I presume your getting rid of(or is broken) the current throttle mechanism or you will stay on full power and use this control remotely. Good luck, I burned out 2 of these. Not a fan, but no other substitute found.

Answer: Yes, there is a dial that ranges from 0-100%. So if the dial was set in the middle it would be at 50%. And stays in the same spot when you turn it back on and off. That it was set at.

Answer: It’s not IP certified, you would need to find some way to waterproof it. If you bought the 60A it SHOULD work. What’s the max amperage, even under load that trolling motor would pull? The peak instantaneous amperage is what you need to figure out. If I were you, I’d find an 80A controller to play it safe.

Answer: Idk about that one!!! I’m thinking it is brushless, so possibly not. It is a brush compatible control, like most power tools use. I use mine on a large landscape pump. Perhaps a brushless compatible control would work - like is used for fan motors.

Answer: Maybe, I’ve used it successfully on my 14” band saw that has a 3/4 hp motor. Does not work on capacitor start motors.

Answer: To add reverse install a double pole double throw switch between the controller and the load.

Answer: Sort of. When the pot is turned fully counter clockwise, it opens a switch that disables power. When turned clockwise from the off position, first the switch closes, enabling power, then speed will ramp up as the pot is turned further.
