Answer:	It's very flexible. Stiff enough that it isn't going to droop, but can make turns easily. You don't want to bend it sharply so you won't crimp it and reduce or cut off flow. I used it as drain line for a furnace, running over 40 feet, making 3 90 degree turns and a small loop at the pump. It was easy to run and I expect it to last the life of the furnace.

Answer:	I have not tested with a combustable gas. It does move air nicely. Natural gas should move through it but keep in mind the brushed motor can give off sparks and ignite the NG if gas is in the nearby air.

Answer:	Really rough & fairly thick plastic. I would compare it to the plastic on most phone cases. Really durable, you would have to try very hard to tear or break the plastic. It has lasted me about 2 years now and it still looks like it's brand new. Doesn't scratch or blemish easily either.

Answer:

No, it needs to run to prime. I used mine for an automated barbot. These worked well enough, mostly due to cost. I have mine run via an Arduino and relay shield so I can control it by bluetooth from an app. It takes about 10 seconds to prime the line. The line to the liquor bottle is about 8" and the output line is about 12" (as I have mine set up). Obviously your application will be different. Hope this helps!

Answer:	I’m not sure I have a complete answer and hopefully someone can post a better response, but: The short answer is no. Volume per time is fixed by cross-sectional area of tube plus rpm of head unit in contact with the tube (plus viscosity , etc). You MIGHT be able to replace the tubing but there will be a mechanical limit to what you can achieve with this unit. More volume equals bigger head unit with bigger tube which means bigger motor. There are several marine pumps that work on 12 volts with more volume and not terribly expensive.

Answer:	Mine came with a 2 meter silicone tubing. 1/4" (6.4mm) silicone tubing works. You want the thin walled tubing. It will work with the thicker tubing but you can't close the pump head completely and have to find the sweet spot where it doesn't pop open. I think the recommended tubing is #17 which is 6.4mm ID and 9.6mm OD

Move fluid safely from here to there with this very nice little pump. Unlike most liquid pumps, this is a peristaltic type - the pump squishes the silicone tubing that contains the liquid instead of impelling it directly. The upshot? The pump never touches the fluid which makes this an excellent choice for any food/drink/sterile based pumping such as for making drink-bots or gardening robots!

The pump is basically a geared down DC motor, so it has a lot of torque. Inside the pump is a 'clover' pattern of rollers. As the motor turns, the clover presses on the tube to press the fluid though. The pump does not need to be primed and in fact can self-prime itself with water a half meter with ease. You can PWM the motor to speed up or slow down the flow rate and if you connect the motor the other way it will move fluid the other direction. Works great with either a power transistor (basic on/off) or a motor driver chip such as the L293D.

The pump comes with 1 meter of silicone tubing and 2 barbed connectors.Please note that the silicone tubing is not sterile and might be dirty on its way to you. Before using, the tubing must be sterilized! The included tubing is also not rated FDA or USDA compliant and is only meant for basic testing of the pump.
