The Energy 0C000908 is the OEM valve found on many popular hydraulic log splitters from Speeco, Brave, Dirty Hand Tools, Huskee, County Line, Yardmax, MTD, Northern Tool, and others. Check the specifications and dimensions for your valve before ordering to make sure it is the correct model of Energy valve.
Add or replace "detent" position to your Energy log splitter valve with this cover assembly. The detent kit allows for your handle to stay engaged while retracting your log splitter cylinder to the start position. This allows for faster wood splitting cycles when operating your log splitter.
Energy Manufacturing Co., Inc. made design improvements and upgrades to its log splitter valve detent assembly in 2008. The new detent design is compatible with all previous detent designs. HOWEVER, the parts within the respective detent assemblies can NOT be interchanged. Interchanging parts between old and new versions may cause the valve to malfunction, potentially creating a safety hazard. When servicing an older model valve with the new detent assembly, make certain you discard the ENTIRE old detent assembly, including ALL internal parts within the old assembly.

| Answer: | The port sizes are different. Most of the ones I have seen are 3/4” pipe thread. Some of the smaller valves for smaller tractors may be 1/2” pipe thread. Advice, do not put a small 1/2” on a larger tractor. See what size your tractor is supposed to have. Some people call this valve a spool valve. If you have a large tractor and you install and small valve where the flow rate will not be sufficient and this will result in slower operation of components that it goes to. It can also cause the hydraulic temperature to be excessive. |

| Answer: | I believe they are both open center valve sets. You should be able to swap them out. Just make sure you read the fine print for this valve. Some of them are BSA weird British thread. Get the SAE threaded valve set. |
