Answer:	China, of course. But this product actually works. I have to haul water several times a week because I live in a draught zone. This valve is a great replacement to the worn out PVC valves that I have had to replace several times because the plastic open/close off/on valves don't last. As much much as I hate China, I took a chance.

Answer:	No it's totally air tight. I actually bought this because my compressor air tank would leak down overnight through the coupling on the hose. Now I close this valve and it holds pressure all weekend with no leak down at all and I've been using it over a year and it's as good today as it was the first day and it's held 120lbs every night and weekend. Also it's a nice compact but stout design with good flow and you can flip the lever with one finger. I'd buy it again in a minute
