Answer:	No heat pad, just the carrier. PBS's Cook's Country (America's Test Kitchen) looked at several casserole carriers and determined this one kept a 9"x13" 180 degrees F ziti casserole hot (140F or above) for 3 hours where the others they tested only did it for an hour. It also determined a 9"x13" casserole dish did NOT slip in this one. This one was their recommended choice which is why I'm getting one. When I bring food to Easter, Thanksgiving, etc. gatherings, I often bring a 12" x 9" disposable lasagna pan full of some veggie dish plus other food in a crock pot. I have a crock pot carrier and heat there isn't a problem because I can plug it in at the event. A 12 x 9 disposable pan may have to sit it inside a 13"x 9" glass or aluminum casserole dish to hold it steady, but that's not a problem for me.

Answer:	The instructions come with it in the box . Press both power and set buttons at the same time to change to Fahrenheit . The unit constantly beeps as soon as it reaches its desired temperature, press the set button for two seconds to stop the beeping . not only does it stop the beeping, it starts timing how long that unit is running

Answer:	The manufacturer is playing CYA here. It can be set for 60 hours. (And you really shouldn't let it go for more than 18 hours without replacing the water that evaporates.) The manufacturer just wants to avoid any frivolous litigation by having the deniability of telling people to never leave it unattended for more than an hour. If it helps them keep the costs down, I'm fine with that. I do recommend doing your Sous Vide in a pot on your range with amazon search "Williams-Pyro 675-3D Stovetop Firestop Venthood, Pair" in your rangehood above.

Answer:	Sous vide means “under vacume” The idea is that NO AIR is to be between the heated water and the product your heating. I think that eliminates stainless steel unless it is left open on the to and not submerged. If so why bother.

Answer:	1st use zip lock bag with the zipper type 2nd you need a clip to clip the bag to the side of the pot to keep it from floating around with the swirling water 1 clip per bag (black binder type clip works best)

Answer:	The sous vide machine should be used in condition of enough water: there is a mark on the body of the machine, the water level in your container should stay between MIN and MAX Mark, if the machine couldn't turn on and keeps beeping and flashing in red and blue, or in case it automatically stops, the most possible reason would be lack of water!

Answer:	Hello, there is a separete layer between the tiers will make them better insulated. Usually the lunch box could keep warm for 2-3hours in the lunch bag. It depends on the local temperature. If you put cold food in the top container, warm in the middle and bottom, maybe it won't keep warm for so long.

Answer:	It's lined in plastic. So if the dish is 400 degrees, I think you would want to wrap a dish towel around it first. just in case.

Answer:	The sauce spilled out on one dish and it looked ruined. I put it in the sink and used soap and a sponge then put it outside to dry. It's fine now. I don't think I would put it in the machine because the insulation might be compromised.

Answer:	Have washed it twice so far on the delicate cycle, and dried it on extra low setting. It is not pilling at all, it held its size & shape well. I was a little worried about it snagging on other items in the washer, but so far that hasn't happened either.

Answer:	I can’t answer that, I’ve never used the escape bivvy. Condensation hasn’t been an issue, but could be in colder weather.
