But, I'll say this: It goes through wood like a Bat out of Hell. So, be very careful when you fire this baby up. Hold your tool FIRMLY with both hands, because it can run away from you if you allow it to 'dig in' and it can just as easily run into you. As you explore the various angles of attack, do so carefully, like with a feather, because it can dig in and run away from you. I bought this blade to take a tree stump that I'd previously cut close to the ground, down enough that a lawnmower could pass over without hitting the stump. And I was impressed with how well it did that, once I figured out the best way to apply the blade--via my 4" Ridgid Angle Grinder--to the work, which, in my case, was to tilt my grinder at about a 45° angle, in such a way that the top side of the blade SLIGHTLY contacted the stump, and skim across the wood, drawing the grinder toward me, in arcs or straight lines. Once I discovered how to not let the blade 'dig in' and 'take off' on you, the job went very well and that stubborn, gnarly old stump proved to be no match for this blade. It's a great tool, but there is a 'learning curve', so use some scrap wood to 'get to know' how it works, and 'easy does it'.

I have a makita and now that I finally got a tool to undo the carbide blade I find this cutter fits ok but the nut sticks above the blades. Any ideas

My idea is for you to return it, unless your a machinist and have time to either turn the tools ID out to accommodate your locking color or the OD of your locking collar itself. I have three different size locking collars and my smallest wouldn't even fit in the tools opening. I don't have the time nor the patience to do either. This tool is definitely made for non-US tools and should state that in the description. Return it, spend a couple extra dollars on this. I love it and it's so so much safer.
