User questions & answers
Question: | Is disapproved by LA county |
Answer: | Water resistant? Kind of but not submersible. |
Question: | will this fix Crack in firebox |
Answer: | You can't say one glue is better than another without knowing the application. This is great stuff though and now my general go-to adhesive. I'd still use E6000 for things that were porous, required more gap filling, or flexibility. |
Question: | Can this be used to install wood stove door gaskets |
Answer: | I have used it on glass that is for outside decorations. It worked great. Just allow 24-48 hours to set. |
Question: | I'm looking to attach some tin tiles to sheetrock. Think this will work |
Answer: | Yes, I believe it would be. It depends on surface... raw wood is good application for it. painted surface or plastic surface would not stick as well |

Dap 18096 10.1 oz. Concrete Waterproof Filler and Sealant, Gray. Sold as 3 Pack
User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used as a caulk between the concrete patio and house concrete foundation to keep water away |
Answer: | Yes. You might check for shrinkage when the weather changes, but I’ve had no problems. It’s a polymer based/concrete caulk. I used it on my fireplace, which gets quite warm and cool, and no shrinkage whatsoever. In extreme conditions, it may respond differently, however. |
Question: | Anyone used this on brick walls horizontal & vertical to repair mortar preventing water penetration due to cracked mortar |
Answer: | Yes. For me has worked with cracks in our bricks. Works well with other types of concrete. Have used it for Pavers up against the house. |
Question: | Inside external garage will fill 1/2 inch wide vertical wall crack? Floor crack? Max depth & recommended fill if cracks deeper on wall & floor |
Answer: | My opinion of this option is "yes" you can use it to fill the described cracks as long as the repair job is clean and free of debris. Depending on how deep the vertical crack is, you may have to apply the filler in 'lifts' so that it doesn't slump. Much better if you can avoid leaving hollows. |
Question: | Is the item chemical resistant |
Answer: | Sorry, I haven't used this product in a capacity other than filling cracks in concrete that are subject to anything other than the variances of weather. I hope you find what you are looking for. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do I re-seal the tip after partial use? Other culks have a removable cap but this one doesn't. Do I need a plastic wrap and a rubber band? Thanks |
Answer: | There are a few things that work. You can stick a nail or screw in and wrap it up tightly with duct tape. I like using a bolt that's a little bigger than the hole because you can then take it out with a wrench if it dries a little on the end. Or you can screw a wire nut on the end, preferrably the waterproof type. Both methods are cheap and work pretty well. |
Question: | Does this caulk dry shiny or matte |
Answer: | When you say shiny I assume you mean patent leather like shiny??? If so, the answer is definitely not!!!! It's a matte black when fully cured. |
Question: | can this be used on my aquarium |
Answer: | My guess is no. There is caulking made just for aquariums but it is more expensive. http://www.amazon.com/All-Glass-Aquarium-AAG65010-10-3-Ounce/dp/B0002ASD34/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410170477&sr=8-1&keywords=aquarium+caulk |
Question: | do you need caulking gun to use this tube? Can it be used on its own |
Answer: | Yes, you will need a medium duty caulking gun. There are products (that don't require a caulking gun) that come in squeezable tubes that are okay for small jobs and/or hard to reach locations. However, it is difficult to lay a professional looking bead of caulk with these tubes and comparatively they are very expensive. If you own a home, especially an older one, you will need to do a lot of caulking and a caulking gun is a wise and inexpensive investment. You should purchase a decent one with a rotating metal wire at the end of the gun (where the nozzle of the caulk tube goes) that is used to pierce foil seals in the nozzles of most painter's (acrylic non-silicone) caulks, and will help to break through any hardened residue in an old tube of caulk if you want to use it after it has been sitting around for awhile. |

Answer: | No, not clear. Sort of grayish or off- white. |
Question: | Will this adhere to outdoor stucco walls for hanging hooks and decor |
Answer: | I can't say that it will only because I have not tried it for that purpose. However, I used it to attach some large rocks inside a terra cotta bowl and the attached surface is underwater at most times. It has held for over a year in that application. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you need the windows open when you use this |
Answer: | It will form a solid patch, but as you suspect the color would be off (for me it dried a dark gray). I do not know if you can mix it with brick dust to match the coloring. I suspect that mixing it would change the consistency and then you'd have to mix in water or another liquid to maintain it. It could prove complicated, messy, and may alter the performance of the product. An alternative could be to use the patch to partially fill in the hole, and then find another product with the appropriate coloring to top the hole off with. |
Question: | How shallow does this mean? We installed a new exterior door and the new door leaves a gap that drops to 1 inch deep and 2 inches wide. Mostly |
Answer: | Yes it can be used to fill holes in concrete. If the hole is less than 3/4 inch I think the liquid repair is preferred. The liquid does best to repair cracks. |
Question: | I have a hole in my brick foundation from an old pipe. Would this be appropriate to repair? Could I mix with brick dust to match the foundation |
Answer: | No it is great and brown With white and black branches. But very beautiful, and warm. My favorite blanket for the couch |
Question: | Can it be used to repair holes in concrete |
Answer: | Everything I have seen from Denali over the years indicated these are manufactured in USA. Check one of my older ones but does not have a tag noting point of manufacturing. The quality has always been outstanding. They do cost more that some of the throws I have seen from China or Vietnam - but they are heavier. Denali website advertises Made in USA, for what that is worth. |
